Planning to buy my 1st PS3,
wonder what should I be careful or worry about when buying
and what thing is recommended or necessary to buy other than only buy a ps3 slim set itself.

When buying I suppose it is advisable to purchase the latest model with latest firmware. If not mistaken is 3006cech now but please be warned that this version cannot be mod. And also, is best to purchase an MY set even tho SG set can be cheaper but in terms of convinience and time taken for service and maybe the price for service also, MY set in my opinion is cheaper overall, unless u don't mind those that I mentioned. And do purchase the ps3 from a store which warranty is tied with sony style, to be safe again. As far as I know of the safe ones will be all Gamer's Hideout outlets(Tropicana City Mall, One Utama, e@curve), or direct from Sony Style at the curve and there are still a few of their outlets around. Sony Style is different frm Sony Centre. Games nowadays are mostly online multi, but if u have siblings they do have a handful of split screen games, do some research bout the games u want before consider buying another controller. Hey guys. Planning to buy ps3 by next month. What's the price nowadays? i surveyed at LY and the cheapest deal i could find is rm700 for 160gb. Any shop selling cheaper than that?

can i noe where u get such price? wat is the shop's name?

the lowest price for 160gb rm850-rm880 ( CECH-3000 Series ) , if rm700 surely recon set or old model which is ( CECH-2500 Series ) .. cheaper then that may be you can try ps2 which cost around rm380 nowdays

current price for ps3 slim nowdays :

Singapore set :

320gb - RM950 * online pricing
160gb - RM850-RM880 * online pricing

Malaysia set ( by Sony Malaysia ) :

RM1199 * fixed price for online and retail shop

Hi guyz I'm askin for my cousin....wats the pricing like for ps3 160gb? I heard from him there was a price increase izzit? How much Sony centre is sellin nowadays...still remember I bought it during the price drop last year ...price increase again?

rm1199 for 320GB @ sony style + sony centre .. currently they only bring in 320GB models .. if SG set of 320gb it will cost rm950

If you visit Singapore regularly, no problem. If not, buy the Malaysian unit, less worry. There's currently a little promotion for Hari Raya until 2 September.

I got an offer RM 1649 for moddable (3.55) limited edition GT (blue) that comes with one original controller (no original game). should i take it? Any advice will be much appreciated.
