Malaysian version covered by warranty from Sony Malaysia only. Likewise, Singaporean version covered by warranty from Sony Singapore only. If you have a problem with a SG set and wish to claim warranty or repair, then have to go to Singapore to get it done.

SG set available for cheaper (RM899 320GB) than MY set (RM1099 320GB) but consider the warranty issue above.

Refers to region code for PS3 games. Note however that the PS3 console itself is region free, so a game bought from any region is still playable.

R1 USA
R2 Europe/Japan
R3 Asia
R4 Australia

If you visit Singapore regularly, no problem. If not, buy the Malaysian unit, less worry. There's currently a little promotion for Hari Raya until 2 September.
