The only major diff would be 0% interest for credit cards if you buy from Sony

I believe the price from outside retailers are considerably cheaper yes? Where did you guys buy yours? Sony style or outside retailer? Why?

I am only concerned about warranty issue and like getting a SG unit instead of a MY unit. My friend at work told me that there's modded PS3 now but I highly doubt so.

difference between MY and SG set is not only the 1 year warranty claim.
lets just say if ur ps3 went "kaput" after 1 year warranty period, you can send to Sony Style Msia for repair. but needa pay $.
But if ur ps3 is a SG set, i doubt Sony Style Msia will repair for u even if u offer rm1mil for the repair cost.
so for sg set user, u either hav to send to 3rd party shops(have to choose wisely or else sure kena con) or u'll have to fly back ur ps3 to singapore to get it repaired.

buy from sonystyle la. buy online just like i did 2months ago.. rm1899 with 2games and free gift. but i surf sonystyle web 4days ago, guess what they made a promotion again. rm1800 plus with 2games + i controller and free gift.. arghhhh

I checked at Sungei Wang today and found out that the lowest price I can get for a PS3 is RM 1300 (SG set) and need to add RM 170 for MGS 4. Also went to Sony Style at Times Square and found the same promotion as above.

1st game must be Ninja Gaiden and the other one is a selection of 5 games (none MGS 4) + DS3 for a price of RM 1800++

Good thing about Sony Style is you can do easy payment and they wont ask you to pay for processing fee.

Some shop at Sungei Wang also offered easy payment but you need to pay a processing fee of 5% of total price.

Was at summit earlier.... actually withdraw cash abt to buy liao after checking the price. Same as previously, Rm 1300 for 80G.
The realize din check if it is from MY or SG, so get back to the shop to confirm again... unfortunately, it is from SG. The boss was saying there is little different... etc etc. Even the warranty for MY set is from Sony, but the parts replacement is not included, bla bla blah....

that really sound like sales pitch... i just keep the money in my pocket for time being before commiting. Else regret also no use.
Rather paying a little bit more for the sense of security.

I think only their playstation product has such regional service restriction
the fact that singaporean PS3 is cheaper even after shipping back to klang valley shows that malaysian PS3 is much more expensive, perhaps most expensive in asia pacific

By the way, there's a promo or something, by buying a game, you will get a second DS3 controller for free. I noticed that most PS3 games are single player, is it common to have a second controller?

I got the brochure for game list at home. Will update tonite when i get back. To me player 2 joypad is only used when I have friends/cousins dropping by and they wanna play soul calibur or street fighter. Most of the time I play RPGs or action games..imo its worth having a 2nd joypad to pwn your friends and family.

yeah, invite some fren over and KO him with SF4, our get him to eat dust at GT4.

Also i got a sucker fren that used to come over for PS 2 since WE6 days until now... Rm 2 per goal. I've won more than a thousand bucks since (probably more)
