I guess I must be doing something wrong with Citibank, I've been a Citibank customer for 3+ years and no upgrades offered biggrin.gif

btw, when you request for the annual fee waiver, do you see the amount credited right away? It's been 2+ weeks and I don't see it on my MBB card.
*
To be eligible for upgrades, its a norm for you to have good payment record & of course, spending near to yr credit limit tongue.gif

@tishaban,
No the amount on annual fee waiver isn't credited into ur account immediately - U'll see the adjustment when they've bill it to U like what hye says.  I ain't too sure about MBB though cause the only CC I use issued by MBB is the Amex one.

Also, I don't think Citibank has any other cards to upgrade U too; Platinum's their highest category oredi lah ! *doink* tongue.gif

@tgeoklin,
The point is that if Citibank wants to upgrade my card and give me a 'better' lifestyle or higher spending power [like what their letter writes] they shouldn't be offering me an upgraded card with a lower CL than my current one.  I find that totally stupid!

@soitsuagain,
It's good that Citibank offered U high CL.  Having been a faithful and loyal Citibank CC user for close to a decade now, the amount of CL they've offered me is totally ridiculous.  It is not low but it's definitely not as high as what other banks have offered me.
*
Well, all banks have their own sets of evaluation criterias and Citibank to my knowledge has been once too generous and they sort of wised up after the 1997 financial crash while HSBC went the other way.

But regardless, its ridiculous to caompare Citi to MBB as overall its a no brainer biggrin.gif

I just redeemed 2 tickets from MBB, guess what, its takes any time from 3 weeks to 4 weeks for me to receive them. Go figures rclxub.gif

MBB Boleh shocking.gif

I've never applied for a single Citibank thingi ever. I suppose someone must have given them my details, it's not like it's a huge secret. They can get it from any kind of database.
*
Lots of time they do that but after you apply get different card due to one reasons or another. Claims to be from the bank but are actually agents only sad.gif

I have one question. Can anyone here confirm whether HSBC's Premier card is the equivalent of VISA Infinite ?

I spoke to HSBC's CS but the answer is very vague. My contact in HSBC's Premier says that this card is better than the Platinum card.
*
NO, its just a regular Plat Master card with slightly souped up benefits tongue.gif

Ok, I shall narrow down the options a bit.

Which card with no annual fee provides free use of lounge at KLIA?

Thanks  laugh.gif
*
Woh, then I guess we hit a brick wall as all cards has annual fees, just whether they are waived or not. To be eligible for waiver, will depends on citeria set by the respective financial institutions, which varies tongue.gif

Use it every month to pay your utilities fees, then ask for fee waiver tongue.gif Else, direct use scissor and cut the credit card. Problem solved whistling.gif (well that's what i used to do when I'm asked to pay for annual fee)
*
That's one way but as you are aware, some banks requires a min $$$ per annum spent before they will consider waiver, and these are all plat cards, so the amount can be substantial biggrin.gif

The thing is, would they ask you to pay for the annual fee even after you've cut it? Since they've charge you already

Normally no if you had sent it back and had not utilised the card on commencemence of the new period in question

You don't need 100K pa for a plat card. Most banks just looking at 60K pa so unless you are lower than that, you shd be fine tongue.gif

Hi All,

Wanna ask what is the min salary requirement for platinum card and what is the credit limit range?

For gold card, how high can the credit limit go before the bank decides to give you platinum card?

Thanks!  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
*
minimum income for plat normally starts from 60k pa with a limit of 20K, so if yr gold card limit is above 20K, very good chance to be invited to upgrade biggrin.gif

CIMB and MBB are the best. Lots of promotion year round. Treatpoints needed to redeem things from MBB generally are lower than most banks. CIMB on the other hand, got many selections. You should see the CIMB "Rewards Catalogue" they sent to me early this year.

Anyways, HSBC and Citibank aren't too shabby either but neither can beat CIMB and MBB.
*
If reward points are your priority, that's .... in terms of services, both HSBC and Std Chart beats CIMB & MBB flat tongue.gif
