Maybank/DA/Alliance - almost no calls The worst (or put it in other way, the most active) are HSBC and Citibank. DA called me before, but from their own CC department inquiring about my CC and usage. MBB never care at all But received a lot of junk snail-mails from all of them. |

ernest2020,
Good to hear that you are climbing out of the CC trap. You realised the CC evil, and you manage to learn about financial management and apply it. |

wirelessdude,
I think HSBC gold CC CL range should be quite wide, maybe even RM50k-100k |

QUOTE(wirelessdude @ Sep 18 2008, 11:00 PM) Hmmm... that means no more diff between classic and gold? I always thought gold meant more privilleges and higher credit limit. No la, I think yours is among the average median. There are many gold cards with 4k CL only Added on September 18, 2008, 11:01 pm Wow! That means mine's awfully low. |

QUOTE(Vcys86 @ Sep 19 2008, 03:08 PM) Hi there, Interbank cash transfer will take 1 working day to clear, if I recall correctly.having some problem regarding the CC payment.. 1.I would like to know how long does maybank2u to take to actually does the payment for us? (I did the transaction yesterday around 5pm) 2. Using interbank transfer then write in the CC number as the benefitiary no. right? 3. On screen it does show the deduction of money, but i called to citibank which they confirm that they havent receive it yet..why? The money is deducted from your a/c, but not reflected on the recipient a/c until the next working day. It's the same, I tried transfer between MBB <> PBB vice versa. Same bank transfer is immediate. |

owenwong84,
I'm afraid not, as very high chance DA will call up the employers to verify you are working there, earning salary and assume able to pay. Why not get a supplementary card from parents for studies/emergency usage ? Or write a cheque (parents?) to pay the fees ? Unless you are paying own fees ? |

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 12 2008, 07:32 AM) Actually MBB charges around RM70 for the EzyPay which this fee is bourne by the merchant. All the cc will still charge you for this facility but it's the matter of whether it'll be charged to the consumer or bourne by the merchant. I think the figure is correct. Recently retail quoted me RM120 cheaper if pay by cash, instead of installment 12 mths using MBB CC. |

QUOTE(Vivato @ Oct 14 2008, 11:18 AM) A few questions to ask I use MBB Amex Credit Card. Amex = 2x TPI have been charging my HLB card to help my company buy air ticket mainly Cathay Pacific. Is there any card out there that give more benefit when buying Cathay Pacific air ticket by using it? Does paying your credit card before the statement arrive affect your credit reputation? eg: charge rm2k pay back 5 days later, in the end your statement have only a few hundreds to settle. Also apply for Asia Miles, which partners with quite a number of airlines like Cathay, Qantas, BA, etc. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Oct 15 2008, 09:46 PM) I remembered somebody mentioned that he/she couldn't use MBB AMEX to pay for bills online in M2U. Who was that? I've been using MBB Online to pay bills. MBB Amex Credit Card cannot use at all for manual payment. You can try choosing manual bills to pay and the dropdown combobox won't have AMEX card option. I asked this during my call with M2U CS. They said can and shouldn't be a big problem. However, you can register for auto-debit with MBB Amex Charge Card for all bills (including TNB) by filling up a form. MBB Amex Credit Card Auto-debit: Maxis My experience so far on manual online payment Amex: NONE Petronas Visa: TM/Streamyx (2x TP), MPSJ, Insurance (auto-debit), Petronas (5x TP) donation (auto-debit) Citibank CC Master: Syabas, DiGi Cannot pay using CC for both MBB and Citibank Online: 1) TNB ------------------------------ Previously I used MBB Amex Credit Card at Esso/Mobil (2x TP) + 1x Smiles point. However, since MBB Petronas Visa is offering 5x TP until end-Dec 2008, I'm using it until further notice. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Oct 16 2008, 09:58 AM) This is totally different from what the CSE told me. I also described the manual online bill payment using the drop down menu. e.g. For TM bill, these are some options available for MBB manual online payment:1) Savings a/c 2) Current a/c 3) Visa CC No Amex option. If got Amex option, I will be using it, cause 2x TP compared to Visa/Master 1x TP. |

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 16 2008, 10:02 AM) Just to correct this info. You can pay your TNB via Citibank Online with Citibank's cc. If you only have current/savings account with Citibank then you can't pay any bills! It's totally opposite from all the online banking in Malaysia. ah... sorry, my mistake. Just check and Citibank CC can pay TNB. Previously I was unable to pay using it, hence have to use M2u online savings/current account. Added on October 16, 2008, 10:35 amSince I was at Citibank Online, I check my statement and... CL increased from 15k to 22.5k Not yet include the Installment Loan Limit. I'm just spending <RM100 every month on this Citibank CC. This post has been edited by cute_boboi: Oct 16 2008, 10:35 AM |

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Oct 16 2008, 02:09 PM) some times, when im pump petrol at Petronas, im very in-decided whether want to use Maybank Petronas which can get 5X point or Direct Access which can get 2% cash rebate. Take a simple scenario. A RM50 voucher (KFC ?) needs 8500? points.any1 have face this situation? 8,500 / 5x TP = RM1,700 of petrol If pump in RM1,700 x 2% rebate = RM34 of cash rebates only. For comparison purpose, 12,500 points / 5x TP = RM2,500 RM2,500 x 2% rebate = RM50 |

QUOTE(reinani @ Oct 16 2008, 06:40 PM) Not much to shout about Amex. Only good thing is minimum 2x TP if I use my MBB Amex Credit Card on all purchases, if the merchant accept Amex. Added on October 17, 2008, 9:42 amtishaban, Are you using Amex Credit or Charge card ? Previously when I start to use MBB Amex Credit card, MBB has 5x TP promotion for 1-2 years on all purchases. QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Oct 22 2008, 09:12 PM) The RM1 = 2X Treatpoint is awesome. That is why i charge everything into my MBB AMEX Gold whenever possible. Shame that MAS doesn't accept AMEX for its online transaction. I have to use my CIMB Gold Mastercard to pay for tickets to KUL every month. Use travel agent to issue ticket/e-ticket. They accept Amex. But fare maybe a bit higher due to commission. 2x TP also. |
