I watched the Verdasco vs Murray. I think Verdasco has some kind of injury at the knee.. he had a few treatments..
Murray is definitely the biggest threat for Federer on hardcourt.. Federer has to figure him out like how he did against Murray in US Open final 2008... totally owned Murray in the final..

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 3 2009, 12:32 PM) Murray is totally different from last year man... Fed owned him in last year's US Open 2008 because he's still "fresh". I don't think its that easy anymore. Fed needs to pull out his classical impossible shots like a few years ago where absolutely no one could stop him. It'll be hard for him to do that though, he has lost motivation. Isn't the great Federer anymore. Federer has lost motivation? I don't really think so. Federer is still a great player, so far he has beaten every player except Murray and Nadal this season... So far all the matches which Murray beat Federer have Federer winning 1 set... meaning the main problem with Federer not beating Murray is because he can't perform his best in the 3rd set, its not the problem of Federer can't beat Murray because he has been winning 1 set. And with Nadal losing means no one is perfect and unbeatable.

I urge all the tennis fans in Malaysia who feel frustrated because of the lack of tennis coverage in Astro write to Astro to voice out ur opinion. It is really getting worse and almost unwatchable this year since Supersport takes over the coverage of ATP Masters Series from Starsports... http://astro.com.my/service/contactus/Apparently, the coverage isn't getting any better as the semifinals and finals of the coming big tournaments such as Monte Carlo Masters, Rome Masters and even Madrid Masters would not be shown live.... You guys pay for the same amount of fees as any sports fans don't deserve this kind of treatment.

QUOTE(darky @ Apr 14 2009, 09:24 PM) yeah it's aired live...but what's the point of showing those 1st n 2nd round matches live yet delayed telecast of semifinals or finals?! Astro is just plain stupid. I agree. Whats the point of showing all these early rounds when the matches that really matter like Federer vs Djokovic, Murray vs Nadal won't be shown. I'm not that shortsighted.

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Apr 15 2009, 11:05 PM) you've answered the reason why they can't please tennis fans. because there is just far fewer tennis fans than football fans. and you please the majority. According to this theory, they might as well just show football 24/7, why waste money on showing basketball, f1, tennis, blahblah blah blah. In Australia, Pay TV penetrates 25% of the home while Astro penetrates 42% of the home.. yet here in Australia we have sports channels like FoxSport 1,2,3, Setanta Sports, ESPN. They are able to show the Masters Series whole day in one of their channel. Astro has 5 sports channels as well, but most of them only show football. Australians love footy so much, definitely more than tennis, yet they can have 1 channel to show all the tennis they want, why Astro can't do that? Because Astro doesn't use its resouces efficiently. Sounds good coverage for French Open.. But the Masters Series coverage is still crappy with no quarterfinals, semifinals and final shown live. =)
Good luck to now married Roger Federer in the coming French Open!

Federer so far is playing very well. Leading at 5-4. But the weather seems to be very gloomy.

Yup. Because Federer is really playing very well, not his best tennis but his par standard at least.... Not sure its enough to beat Nadal on clay though. You know Nadal, king of clay huh.

Just updated the TV Schedule.
Pretty much the same type of coverage for the coming Madrid Masters where you don't get the semifinals and finals live.. Lolz. But the coming French Open we will have Channel816 showing French Open 24/7.. If i'm not mistaken.
=)
Yeah, this year Nadal is pretty much invulnerable.

I found that picture in www.tennis.com
Yup, you are probably right to say that Safina and Jankovic are the worst no.1, simply because they have not won enough big tournaments and not even a grand slam. But give them time... i think Safina may have to chance to win it because she has been in 2 grand slam finals...

Astro not snubbing tennisQUOTE WE refer to the letter “Astro, be fair to tennis fans” (The Star, April 23). On April 18 and 19, there were several sports events taking place simultaneously.
The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters semi-finals and finals were scheduled on April 18 from 7.30pm to 1am, and on April 19 from 8pm to 12 midnight respectively.
There were also several football events on April 18, including Bundesliga matches Arminia Bielefeld vs Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg vs Bayer Leverkusen at 9.25pm; and Italian Serie A: Genoa vs Lazio at 11.55pm.
On April 19, Italian Serie A: AS Roma vs Lazio match was on at 8.55pm while Bundesliga: Hertha Berlin vs Werder Bremen and Spanish Primera Liga: Valladolid vs Villarreal were on at 10.55pm.
Because of this, the channel had constraints in broadcasting all the events live. Seeing that the duration to broadcast the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters semi-finals and finals event was equivalent to broadcasting four football matches, Astro opted for the latter for the channel to bring as many “live” events as it could accommodate at that time.
But Astro and had telecast the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters semi-finals and finals one day after the “live” event on April 19 at 12noon and April 20 at 9.50pm respectively. The delayed telecasts were broadcast during the weekend and after office hours to ensure that tennis fans were able to catch them.
For May and June, we will be bringing live coverage for the ARAG World Team Cup from May 18 to 23 and the Tennis French Open 2009 from May 24 to June 7 on Astro SuperSport+ (Channel 816), an additional sports channel that will be temporarily available to all Astro Sports Customers until June 9.
LEE CHOONG KHAY,
Head, Sports Business, Content Management Group,
Astro. Lolz. Read this in The Star Online. Stupid lousy Astro.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ May 13 2009, 10:30 PM) Fuuh.... Djokovic and Hernandez match was pretty intense. I thought at the beginning Madrid open is going to be boring, but this match proved me wrong. Hernandez eventhough he lost, played a good match. At some point he had the light to win, but I don't know whats wrong... Djoko was just too strong mentally after he slid and damn near twisted his ankle. Shows why sometimes they spray too much water on one particular spot. Djoko could have missed Roland Gaross and Wimbledon if he did snap his ankle. Wow. Didn't watch the match but it sounds pretty dangerous out there.
