But i never say Nadal will surely lose in the final or whatsoever. I say he shouldn't win because of his style. =)

Too bad i would be in school by that time. must watch !!! let's see how much the so-called US hope has improve I watched Donald playing for a few times, sometimes seems good sometimes seems bad. Would rather watch Juan Del Potro playing.. This guy is on fire! |

Although US Open has been the hardest one for us Malaysians to watch due to the time zone, i really like it because of its atmosphere.. The loud crowd... the americans... Its a break from the traditions we have in French Open and Wimbledon.
Del Potro won 4 straight tournaments coming into US Open.. so he's really the dark horse for US Open.. And also Tsonga, who has just come back from the injury... Shouldn't be a problem for Nadal to clear through th early rounds.... Can't wait to watch the Olympic Gold Medalist Dementieva in action today. |

Play like Henin? No, there is no player in the top 10 that plays an 1 handed backhand.... Doesn't seem like anyone is dominating the game.... Jankovic was the No.1 for 1 week, then now its Ivanovic again.. And Sharapova, who i thought would be the No.1 after her Australian Open win is now injured...
The Williams sisters.. always unpredictable.... so we can only wait and see. I would hope Dementieva to win because she's a great player and deserves a grand slam title under her name.... She won the gold medal in Olympics..... |

QUOTE(artemis348 @ Aug 25 2008, 03:58 PM) Her groundstrokes is definitely one of the bests if not the best in WTA tour right now. The only thing that stops her from winning is her mental. She has improved alot in the serving department and thats why she got into the semifinals of Wimbledon and also won the Olympics.Safina also seems to be playing very well since the clay court season. |

Nadal decided not to change his usual sleeveless shirt in US Open because he's not used to the sleeved shirt... He will only shift to that after US Open if i'm not mistaken.
But its quite a tough match for Nadal against Phau.. Didn't expect that... but Phau really tried hard to beat Nadal... Blake vs Young didn't disappoint as it went into 5 sets. =) 1st 5 setter in Arthur Ashe stadium this year. Hope for more matches coming. Today's Schedule QUOTE Arthur Ashe Stadium - Start time 11PM Ana Ivanovic (1), Serbia, vs. Vera Dushevina, Russia Vince Spadea, United States, vs. Marat Safin, Russia Serena Williams (4), United States, vs. Kateryna Bondarenko, Ukraine Night Session - Start Time 7 a.m. Samantha Stosur, Australia, vs. Venus Williams (7), United States Maximo Gonzalez, Argentina, vs. Roger Federer (2), Switzerland Louis Armstrong Stadium - Start time 11PM Kristie Haerim Ahn, United States, vs. Dinara Safina (6), Russia Tommy Haas, Germany, vs. Richard Gasquet (12), France Mardy Fish, United States, vs. Robert Smeets, Australia Not before 3 a.m. Nathalie Dechy, France, vs. Amelie Mauresmo (32), France Grandstand - Start time 11PM Tomas Berdych (22), Czech Republic, vs. Sam Querrey, United States Daniela Hantuchova (11), Slovakia, vs. Anna-Lena Groenefeld, Germany Tommy Robredo (15), Spain, vs. Mischa Zverev, Germany Marta Domachowska, Poland, vs. Bethanie Mattek, United States We have Federer, Ivanovic, Williams sisters playing today. Live coverage starts at 11.40PM due to WWE. ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Bepeon: Aug 26 2008, 05:50 PM |

Lolz. Because she has to find true love. Its a lonely struggle on the top of tennis.
Del Potro didn't disappoint me... He lost the first set against Canas but came back strong to win it in 4 sets. The top contenders for US Open among the women's players are Ivanovic, Jankovic, Williams sisters, Dementieva and Safina. I really don't see Kuznetsova winning. I think the ones with the highest chance of winning are still the Williams sisters. Go Federer! |

I see many ppl saying Federer's shirt looks like the UPS employees. Lolz.
Cool to know that CH816 is fully showing US Open. Means we get to watch the replay during evening... I woke up at 4AM and watched Safin vs Spadea. Safin was very angry at 1 point because the umpire called foot fault and led him losing the 4th set... I read about Ivanovic nearly losing her match.. Glad that she went through that. Haas beat Gasquet in 5 sets.. Shocking. ![]() ![]() |

Lolz, no wonder i couldn't access the channel 816 this morning. You need to put your decoder to standby mode for a while.. then only you will have the US Open channel. =)
I duno whether Channel 811 or Channel 816 will be showing tonight's action. =) Now can 24/7 tennis. Lolz! ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Bepeon: Aug 27 2008, 05:22 PM |

Whatever it is, i'm happy enough that Supersport actually produce a channel just for US Open. Hope they do it with next year's French Open and US Open again.
Today's Schedule QUOTE Arthur Ashe Stadium - Start time 11PM Sorana Cirstea vs Svetlana Kuznetsova Sofia Arvidsson vs Jelena Jankovic Novak Djokovic vs Arnaud Clement Night Session - Start time 7AM Alisa Kleybanova vs Lindsay Davenport Andy Roddick vs Fabrice Santoro Louis Armstrong Stadium - Start Time 11PM Nikolay Davydenko vs Dudi Sela Elena Dementieva vs Pauline Parmentier Robby Ginepri vs Amer Delic Ernest Gulbis vs Thomas Johansson I typed this schedule so no schedule for Grandstand court. Well, today we have mixtures of first round and 2nd round matches... Obviously the highlights will be Djokovic vs Clement and Roddick vs Santoro. ![]() Woohoo! Vaidisova won her match but Hantuchova got crushed in 1st round. |

Ivanovic is still recovering from the thumb injury.. She withdrew from Olympics because of that... The first round match will only help to give her more match practice.
I didn't watch the Jankovic match.. but it looks like its a tough match for her. Can you tell me more bout that? I did watch the Djokovic vs Clement match. Wasn't quite exciting.... Clement doesn't have the firepower in his shots to challenge Djoko. But Djoko is having an ankle injury? ![]() |

Last year Blake vs Santoro was certainly much more exciting than this year's Roddick vs Santoro.
Roddick seems to overpower Santoro today... Will have to watch it later to know what really happened. ![]() Can't wait to watch the Jankovic match.. Seems like a typical dramaful Jankovic. Federer is playing against Thiago Alves on Saturday (US' Friday) |
