one thing I find hard about Japan is their currency ... 100 yen = Rm3.80 ( Roughly )
Then those stuffs like soo pricey...End up converting below expectation ... If you get what I mean ... Ha ... roughly 10k yen is enuff for a month ?
One easy way of looking at Japanese yen is to treat it as if 100 JPY = RM1 (in terms of expenditure).
Here's a few examples :-
McD meal sets = average 600-800 JPY (RM6-8 bucks - which is close to prices in Malaysia although I think it's more of RM8-10 buck / meal now).
Simple meal in Japanese restaurant = average 800-1000 JPY (RM8-10).
Tokyu Bus ticket = average 210 JPY (RM2.10).
JR Yamanote train tix = average 150 JPY (RM1.50)
Thus using this scale; you can plan your estimated expenditure (for food and transports) as per your cost of living back in Malaysia in total then convert it to MYR. So, your original 10,000 JPY / month only equals to roughly RM100 which is definitely not enough.
