Hm... it is easier, in case your VISA application rejected. then you no need to cancel flight/hotels etc etc. last time , if you are rejected then have to cancel which some flight doesn't allow cancellation.

no, its a plant shutdown. as in factory closed door and halt productions.
so during this period, everyone is forced to take leave/go away.

im still looking for a good ticket bargain.

im planning to visit jp from christmas - new yr.
the cheapest ticket so far is rm2.6k via china eastern airlines sweat.gif
the rest is in 3.4k range
accomodation maybe merempat rumah orang or some cheapo hostel.
as long i can visit c75, akiba, skiing should be ok >_<
*
ooi.... RM2.6k is cheap enough, considering the short time u have now.

i bought my next year tix, mas all in RM2.5k. go ahead lah.

merempat je rumah si Fire tu. but, since you are staying alone, hostel is damn cheap for you!

hm...skiing/snowboarding? go ahead. buy buy buy ! go go go!

i've merempat rumah org , 26 Dec 04 - 7 Jan 05. new year sale, fukubukuro damn worthbuying!

im indeed running out of time.
oh C75 cosplayan~
*
yes la... now can apply visa with just your planned itinerary . no need confirmed ticket and hotel....

on yen currency, 1 year ago (around Sept) it was around 100Yen = RM2.90.

50kYEN = RM1500

now

50kYEN = RM2000 rclxub.gif hopefully it would go down a bit by march.

You might wanna get the Suica card at the airport... check this out:
(Suica + NEX) - http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/suica-nex/index.html

I think it's a pretty good deal (normal train from Narita airport to Tokyo is about 1100 JPY but takes extra 20+ minutes and also you gotta change trains which might be confusing and a hassle if you have a few luggage). Applying at the Airport also makes it easier as you can return it for your refund when you get back to the airport during your departure.

Just my 2 yen opinion. wink.gif
*
PsyCHZZZ,

thanks for the tip! it is definitely cheaper and TOTALLY worth buying.
I used to take limited express (Keisei) from Narita to Ueno around 1100JPY, since N'EX is usually around 3000JPY.
but, with this package, N'EX is just 1500Y. CHEAPPPPP! rclxm9.gif

Tanoshi should add in this info at the main page as well.

does this cards have expiry? cos my NTT phone card seemed like not expired even after 2years.

Imagine Malaysia's weather with lesser humidity... there are some days that it gets a bit hotter but then it's nothing that us Malaysians aren't used to already.  biggrin.gif
*
yup, very dry. I had to always keep Pocari Sweat in my backpack, anywhere i go. the dryness is a bit different that Msia, but should be ok. Just need to ensure to take more fluids.

I think the Suica card has like 10-years validity or something... smile.gif and if you don't have a bottle of water with you... no sweat - there's like vending machines EVERYWHERE!  laugh.gif
*
YESS....vending machine is everywhere, but buying 5 bottle of POCARI SWEAT/day can burn a serious hole in your pocket.

150JPY x 5 = 750JPY = RM30 a day for drink. 5 days? there's a lot of things u can buy with that amount of money.

for me, i'd brought air masak from hotel (sakura hotel ikebukuro has in-room water heating pad). every little saving is worth it.

during winter, my fav would be Van Houten hot cocoa miruku....

as for summer , melon sodaaaa!

doesnt look cheap for me. gyuudon is cheaper. 350yen can get already. if reeeaaally budget just buy 2 or 3 onigiri at konbini.

but i love ten-don as well. the ones they sell in supermarket are slightly cheaper than in the proper shops
*
yes, gyuudon in yoshinoya is cheaper, but I can't eat them. For sure not halal.

Sometime, I oso buy ten-don @ departmental store like Tobu or egg mayo sandwich @ konbini. If during budget travel, i always sneak in some Ayam Brand tuna mayo or seafood mayo and just buy bread @ konbini icon_question.gif

but as for ten-ya , their roasted tea is good icon_rolleyes.gif (since it is free flow) so, I never get bored with it.

Nola bro im not going there now. Planning for March-April trip. Booked the accommodation for my 1/2 trip d, the other 1/2 i want to try something adventurous tongue.gif (i'm traveling alone btw)

Besides JAL and MAS, any other companies provide direct flights ? Googled all come out British Airways, American  sweat.gif
*
hm... American Airlines is running on co-sharing with JAL, JL723/JL724. my first trip also on JAL (the cheapest). but i think recently someone posted about China Eastern Airlines ~ RM2.5k, connecting @ shanghai. but, as long you are taking both KUL-Shanghai and Shanghai-Narita on the same company, should be ok. AirAsia is cheap, but risky, can try like what Fire suggest la.

As for accomodation, try looking for ryokan, e.g KIMI ryokan, 4.5k or you are looking for something more adventurous brows.gif
