Check out this site:
http://www.bus.or.jp/bus/index_e.html

Search your start point as 'Tokyo' and destination as 'Shizuoka'. On the next page - you should see Gotemba.
Anyway, just in case you can't find the page - here's a screenshot for you with the information:

Today Jepun public holiday!
(if not mistaken) celebrating orang yang cukup umur ke 20) like Malaysia is 18 years old is cukup umur, so do Japan cukup umur 20...so sapa lahir on this date and genap 20 tahun, maka mereka akan diraikan di majlis sempena hari jadi dan hari cuti am! brows.gif

Pelik tapi benar hmm.gif tapi itulah  JEPUN! doh.gif
*
its because almost every 20 yr old got drunk last night and wont go to school/work today if it wasnt a public holiday

lols, if ure scared bt bills, be scared about your rent first. your bills arent exp at all. your first step is to get an apartment, which might mean paying a full 4 months of your rent first.

QUOTE(asuk @ Jan 15 2009, 11:24 AM)
if you got the monbukagakusho scholarship then dun worry so much about bill lah.
sure you can limit your bills to <10k yen if you take drastic measures (bathe once a week  tongue.gif , dun use heater during shower, dont use aircond/heater, dont cook) but can u tahan with this kind of lifestyle?

actually, cooking meals at home might be cheaper than eating out everyday
*
if i did what u said, my bills wud be non existent.tongue.gif just be prudent. use your heater at nights only, set timer even. i have frens who even live without one comfortably(use a better futon, electic carpets are cheaper than heaters,etc...). cook!propane gas is more exp than electricity, so maybe an IH cooker is better if your apartment uses propane. dont leave your rice cooker, hot pot n so on on all the time. switch off lights when not in use. its basically just adapting. remember, life here is different from malaysia. what might be normal in malaysia, i.e blasting your a/c at 16 degrees 10 hours a day is not here. people save electricity by limiting their a/c to 24 degrees or sth.

does you scholarship cover rent? if not, it might not be cheap for u to live alone.
