as i mentioned u need to tarik-tarik abit for the shield, ur's not 100% perfect i believed it have some small gap not covered by the shield, am i correct?

i think im the master for invisible shield already haha...help 3 of my friend install it but it really takes time. doh.gif

for TS please wash ur hand clean when u install it, coz it will stick on the shield itself.

remember to tarik-tarik a bit of the shield , make it cover all the surface of the phone. thumbup.gif

u can spend few minutes to stick also can but the result will not be good, the more time u spend to stick it carefully, the better it look and last.

1 more tip from me, there's a bottle of spray comes with the invisible shield package, use all the spray, it's actually a chemical which make ur shield more stick on the phone itself , some people make mistake that they think the spray not important. icon_rolleyes.gif

The hard part would be the edges. U have to press and hold for few minutes to make it stick.

got 1 & peeled it off d. It's really difficult to install. & besides if u do it wrongly , it will turn very ugly. my advice is go for other companies's shield. shieldzone's is just expensive & hard to install. I won't recommend it.

This product cannot be used to stick over the camera lens? Shucks, I was thinking of buying for my K850i, since the camera lens cover is prone to smudges and scratches!

think the invisble shield is a good investment if u don;t wanna really change casings often.

for me i took 2 days to have it done. 1 day to let the bigger pieces stick properly(like condom) and 1 day for the smaller pieces.
since u bought the shield, might as well be patient and let it dry properly.
the rubber piece supplied to push out the bubbles is not a 100% guarantee.
besides.. if u try to hard to push them out.. your invi shield will not be 100% invisible.. **can still texture on it.*

THe only advantages i find in the invi shield are:
1) maintains phone slim shape
2) prevents accidental scratches
3) water resistance? kakakaka
4)slightly better grip

And as our dear forumers advised.. just spray the liquid provided as often as u can.**please switch off your phone*

For the record, i got bored of invi shield + peeled it off.. a very small amount of the printing at the back of the iphone + iphone logo went with it.
**curses**. u can actually see the imprints on the invi shieldon removal

about the invi shield?

ermm.. lemme see if i can find their website somewhere..

www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/.

THink that's it. If u already have 1. The best advice before application is to watch Youtube videos provided.

For me, when i applied the invi shield i had:

1)a pair of tweezers *borrowed from a female friend**
2) surgical gloves
3) lots of tissue paper + 1 lens cloth that i got off 1 of those cheaper screen protector packs to dab off any additional water + wipe off fingerprints
4)Hair dryer
5)scissors( to cut the extra pieces of invi shield into strips) - i used those to plaster the edges in place after application to make sure the edges don;t rub off.**it's pretty annoying if the edges gather dust and come off.

don;t forget to wash your hands and dust your table top before u start.

The apple Logo came off a lil bit with it..not the whole logo came off..so not that serious actually..
I dont know how i scratch it..I'm using my invisible shield together with my Belkin Leather Pouch..and One day i took it out from the pouch and notice the scratches..
Tried taking off the shield to wash but the scratch still remains..Thats the time i notice the invisible shield have my apple logo sticking to it..
Here's some pics of the scratches..

maybe too sticky.... not sure.

I'm using IS also (both sides)... but by far need not to take peel it off.
I got a few CMs long of scratch before I applied IS.... can't do much.

done! hmm... so it took me about an hour an a half to apply it on.. applying it on the front and back was quite easy.. its the corners that are hard to apply.. some stupid dust got onto the adhesive at the 4 corners of the shield, so cant stick properly.. so i had to cut the 4 corners off.. haihs.. pain but, had no choice.. grr..

half year already. the shield turned yellow, not the phone lah. you can always replace the shield every now and then when it started to look yellowish. btw the good thing is that it prevents your phone from scratches. nowadays im using leather case for total protection tongue.gif

i have already thought that BSE is the one with a greater tendency to turn yellow over time.

so far i'm concerned, IS has always been clear to me.

hope that helps.

Can really comment on the comparison between IS and Bodyguardz since i have never tried bodyguardz. But so far i m kinda happy with IS in terms of outlook and the durability of it. Overall i would say its a good buy and it was fun installing it too biggrin.gif

just wanna share some info for this shield.
i've been using it on my n82 for 3 months.
the pro salesman helped me to paste it.
so far no yellowish problem, i guess it might be caused by wrong pasting method.

i accidentally dropped my n82 on the road few weeks ago, only one scratch found on the IS surface.
the scratch recovered over the period so it's almost unnoticeable now.

it costs me SGD35 with FOC service.

Dont worry, the guys here are not shy on helping each other. We need you to help yourself first though.

In this case, since people had done the effort of looking for any deals on ZAGG's IS, the reward is that free 20% discount lah. See? There are rewards for your effort, just have to put a little elbow grease to it.

@louismhc,
Need! In fact I haven't been getting sufficient sleep. I've no idea how long it's going to take the iShield to arrive but since I oredi received my case/pouch over d weekend I oredi started using the phone officially. Just need to make sure I don't scratch the chrome surface *grins*

@mONSTers,
Let me know if U still want the 20% code. I've 1 left and was intending to keep it for my best friend but she's not sure if she's able to get hold of a unit so might as well give U the promo code first smile.gif

well.... if you purchase IS online, and choose to use FREE shipping.... it will take about 3 to 4 weeks time to arrive at your doorstep (after go thru custom) for my past experience.

it is a very long wait indeed..... but no choice, cos it's FREE shipping.
So be patient....

actually the quality is much better than you can see in the pictures. it's cheap and the best thing is that the clip is using magnet.

Magnetic clips have been known to disrupt and interfere with electronic devices with built-in storage. I've had my old N95 inside a leather case with magnetic latch as well, and it has demostrated weird uncommon glitches and slowdown.

blink.gif so serious? so far there's no problem yet with my iphone. is it long term effect caused by the magnet? sorry for being electronic theory noob but i've been using the casing for like 1-2 months.

Actually you can just add in some WATER... then you can continue the back part already.
WATER is enough.... the skin itself already a bit adhesive glue.....

Hope that helps, cos I did that too. rclxms.gif

@kwekeugene,
Yeah friend of mine did suggest for me to wait and see if it's due to air bubbles; that it might go off but from his experience it probably ain't due to air bubbles. It's no biggie I guess; but there's a part of this detect on the front - if I can't live with it I probably would take a picture and get them to resend me another one; but to take this off and re send this back to them.. iSh.. a bit ma fan lah!!! *siGh*

I'll try to get some pictures taken tomorrow.

Maybe it's just me - I was stuck at the new office yesterday and all the smell from the thinner might have just gotten to me! Well, the surface is uneven - let's see if I can take a snapshot [i'm really bad when it comes to taking pictures, if it was with the iPhone it'll be so much easier!]

Tip to you guys la...careful if you wanna use other covers on the invissible shield...
I bought a leather case from subang parade that fits the iphone..
The back is like some furry smooth substance..
After a few days i remove it awhile..
My behing got like black stains...heart so pain..
But at least is on my IS..
I think the material on the IS + the battery heat cause my pouch material to stick on it..

well.... my personal advise of IS.
Make sure you stick it "perfect", especially at the edge corners.

Plus.... additional caution to those we always put inside pocket (without using case, only IS), after a long time you will see many unwanted 'dirty' sticked on IS, which will make your IS no longer stick as it should.

That is what happens to my IS protected iPod Touch.

most definitely.

let me quote a memorable scene from F.R.I.E.N.D.S Season 3 Episode 11 but (disclaimer) it doesn't necessarily represent my thoughts tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Ross: Well, I’m just saying, I mean why else would he just, y'know,
swoop in out of nowhere for no reason.

Rachel: To be nice.

Ross: Hey, Joey. Are men ever nice to strange women for no reason?

Joey: No, only for sex.

IS feedback after 1 month usage

Pros:-
- running around without a casing and so far no scratches yet
- better grip with less chances of slipping of your hand and dropping the phone
- Maintains the original look of the phone
- No extra bulk to it
- Touch screen looks pretty clear and still very sensitive

Cons:-
- dirt tends to collect towards the edge of the IS and kinda hard to clean it off
- IS on the corners of the phone tends to pop out a little but fixable using a lighter
- Smudge and finger print magnet
- Ripples all over the IS if u look at it at a certain angle and closely, which i think is the normal nature of the material. Not noticeable from a further distance.

Overview:-
No regrets purchasing the item and happy with the outcome. Tried scratching the phone with keys and sliding the phone on tarmac and still no damage done.

Points I've bolded are the ones I cannot live with. Sliding the iPhone into pockets tend to collect lints and dirt. I already had a hard time last time using the iPhone Edge without a case, and the edges of the screen protector gets trapped dirt that is hard to clean. If I do decide to clean them, it involves peeling them out, and this reduces the stickiness already.

Fixable using lighter? shocking.gif Put an open flame to my beloved iPhone?

Fixable using lighter? shocking.gif Put an open flame to my beloved iPhone?
*
lmao yea kinda hard to believe but trust me it work wonders. Not asking your the BBQ your phone but just 1-2 seconds of open flame and press the corners for a minute or two and walla!!!! IS is back in place.

HINT: Just use the orange flames that appears on the fire and avoid the blue flames.

Wow u actually took it off to clean it and then put it back on?

Wouldnt the IS wrinkle when subjected to heat? Or are you remelting the adhesive solution back to make it stick? either way, I'm afraid it is not for me, i guess.

biggrin.gif yea its kinda hard to put flames on to the iphone.

It doesn't wrinkle the IS, just melting the adhesive solution and soften the material so that the IS can bond to the unit again. But whatever it is those who wanna do it please do it at your own risk tongue.gif

No need direct flame lor. Panaskan metal lighter suam2 kuku jer. Pastu tekan dkt mana edge yg kurang stick tu. Confirm berkesan.

yeap.. i got a reply from them yesterday, for an exchange.. they'll send another one to me for free.... not exactly rfee, but 1cent.. and i'll have to pay for the shipping charges.. which is still ok..

good thing about it is that they'll send me a new one first, and then after receiving it they will expect me to send the old one back to them, which is very fair.. that's the kind of customer service i like..

@jakesean,
It isn't visible on the iPhone iShield. The friend who installed for me did another installation on an iPhone and it was perfect. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the one other installation he did on another iPhone 3G had the same ripples as the one on mine.

I guess it's got to do with the batch! *siGh*

Just install IS for my iPhone yesterday, the spray solution they provided is not enough. blink.gif blink.gif
I use too much of the solution while applying the back part, and it runs out before i apply IS for the button and camera part. sigh.

i don't think that you were here prior to this as it happened quite some time ago.

a member actually sprayed too much solution and his iphone couldn't start up! and yes, he used the entire bottle up.

but lucky for him, he took my advice (kembang kembang) not to mess with it anymore and left it overnight. of course it started back up the next day.

I see, so I'm quite lucky right? LOL
Anyway, i do use a cloth to absorb those extra solutions on my phone, so i think that makes the difference. I do leave my phone for entire night before turning it on again after applying IS.
Maybe I'll get a second IS and try to apply it again. biggrin.gif

i used to use the mirror screen protector. it is nice la (for vanity reasons), but you need to boost up your screen brightness by a considerable amount and hence draining your battery.

their e-mail got into your junk/spam folder. try checking again.

from my experience with them, they have never replied my e-mails later than 24 hours before and on two occasions, they went into my Yahoo! spam folder.

watch out for the 'uninvited' dirt to those who always keep it inside pocket.
Otherwise... some day you will end up like this (hopefully not).
May be should consider get a pouch put in first before you put inside pocket.... cool2.gif

yup, the front cover seriously look like Sh*t.. cry.gif ...very hard to applied it since the IS not in it shape, thinking of getting other normal Screen Protector and remove front IS because its totaly suc*.... sad.gif

i spend 1 hour to install it... sweat.gif

@friends : yes i think it will become like that after a certain time, but i guess that is the cons about the thing, cant do anything unless like you said, getting pouch is the best way to lower the chance getting "unwanted" dirt under those IS sad.gif .

*disclaimer: the following statement is only based on my own personal understanding.

i have always thought that IS is more superior than BG and the argument here is always about whether to opt for an IS or not.

I received my IS! I tried installing! ...and I failed miserably. cry.gif

It is diiiifficult and I haven't even attempted the backside of my phone yet. I reckon for most people, an extra 2 or 3 hands might come in handy. Maybe hands with no fingerprints at all would be best. rolleyes.gif

u guys have failed miserably becuz there's a trick out there to install and u guys didnt try it smile.gif

try dipping the whole SP into the water you can add also little drops but not too much just sufficient for you to move it about when it is still wet to adjust the position

after that leave it dry and u will be happy with the results smile.gif

=Hanxz= .. when installing the front, I applied the spray generously but was in constant fear of the liquid dripping into my top speaker lubang what more dip the whole thing in water...hehe... makes sense though of course so that u can easily reposition the IS when applying.

I don't care much for the front now though. I'll use the normal screen protector that I got together with my casing for that but I still want a back installation done. Any takers? Dadarouch seems to be on hiatus mode.

I bought it straight from their official website. I think it cost me around RM60-ish (USD 19.96) if I'm not mistaken for the front & back package. You'll want to Google around for the 20% discount code before buying. It'll save you quite a fair bit. Delivery was approximately 2 weeks.

Oh...I just realised I have x2 20% discount codes to give away if anyone wants to purchase the IS from Zagg's website. PM me for it.

Just finish installed BG at the back.

First, BG is more precision. meaning you must align very well. First time fail to align properly. Fortunately, got extra (BG give two). This time, i align at volume control first after than align with camera. This BG feel diff than IS, no alun-alun, no feel sticky like rubber. BG look more shining. There is some bubble but not visible like IS, wait another 24 hr, whether it will disappear or not.

Update :

I just got 3-4 small bubble after installed BG, but not visible like IS . And after 24 hr, all bubbles are gone.

And yesssss, more smooth and more shinning than IS.

After seeing how nicely wrapped and protected the iPhone is, i think i've been poisoned to get 1 too.

I did a little search in garage sale but it came up with 2 brands of the same item.

Invisible Shield and BodyGuardz.

Is both the same quality or 1 is better than the other?

2 reasons:-
1) Some people just don't have the time to check out tutorials and wrap it. Even a professional took about 1 hour to wrap the thing professionally when I bought it in Hong Kong. Yes they have this service almost at every shop that sells invisible shield.

2) Don't have so much money to blow if I screw up.

Thats why I am asking. So if anyone knows please share.

Thanks.

Its a nice product thumbup.gif , fairly easy to install IMO. Just that i dont recommend IS for the front screen... too grippy sweat.gif . The edges at the back's starting to peel off. Could be because of me using slip on cases.

may it be BS or IS; to a certain degree it will turn yellowish at some point eventually and it will be obvious f you are using a white unit.

Actually I already have IS professionally installed right now. it was perfect when the pro installed in but after a couple of weeks ....the 4 edges are starting to annoy the hell outta me. It has started to grow bubbles and there's crap stucked inside. I'm even thinking of getting a silicone case to put on the iphone just so the 4 edges won't continue to mess up but that'll make the phone look ugly. Sigh. IS is good its just the damn 4 edges will start to bubble and peel off overtime. Does that happen with BG?

about the yellowish thingie.. i couldn't agree more @nokia2003...

@blizzy
u dont have to be a pro to apply it bro... as long as u align it correctly and watch the tutorial... it will be ok... and u'll be more happy with the result.. because u did it.

I just installed mine yesterday. Not the easiest task. Wish I could have done it a lil more neater. I ran out of the spray, i just substituted with "Diamond" water. Works no problem also. laugh.gif

I think when i reposition the back part, the adhesive caught some fine dust. But i am not gonna risk taking out the whole thing just for one small part which doesn't look fine.

Some fine scratches on the original backing has also been hidden by the invisibleshield.

The one I got, the front wasn't well cut. The earpiece hole was higher than the actual earpiece on the iphone. Maybe i stretched it too much? But luckily, still got a hole for me to listen through the earpiece.

Wish, they could improve the design, and make it even a better fit for the iphone, with really "full" coverage around the edges.

I tried scratching with a key... no scratches...

But....

I was "lucky" enough to get a fine scratch because i think i used the sharp edge of the key near the edge.

So... good for scratches not cuts...

I too adventurous edi... go and test myself... :-p
