No wonder la the shop looks familiar..i bought my second hand rims there huhu tongue.gif

However i would rate their services as so so only. 3 out of 5. They even tried to tell u to change this la, change that la cos worn out edi (brake pads, satay bush)..luckily i know a bit about cars so i didnt get conned. My brake pads can last for more than half year but they tell me that it goin to worn out soon shakehead.gif

But their trade in price for 80% tyres is higher RM200 for all 4 (14') and their 2nd rims are also cheap..

I have a small confusion. When people mentioned 16 inches, 17 inches..
Are they referring to the thickness of the tyre? Need some guidance here.

they are refering to the diameter of the sport rim/wheel

tyre are typically measure by the numbers like 195/60/15. 195 denotes the width of the tyre, 60 denotes the thickness of the tyre measured in the ratio to the width (this case 195), and 15 means it will fit 15" rim.

so in short, the width and the thickness affects the rims as well, as it may be too big to fit into a certain rim?

yes.. they are related.
for rims, they are measured in 15x6jj, 15x6.5jj, 16x7jj etc. the 15 and 16 is the diameter and the "jj" part is the width of the rim.

so if you get a tyre that is very wide, but ur rim is say 6jj, then might not fit.
btw, i also what the "jj" stands for too. just know it has to do with the width of the rim

it does effect.. but nowadays people are fond to fit smaller width tyre as to get the stretched effect like the japanese do.. its called "hipari" style.. usually wider rims is nicer..

Guys i got a question...

When i choose sports rim, what should i take note of?

I must choose the same PCD with my current tyre unless i change tyres too rite?

How about the material?

Lighter weight will consume less petrol?
