fuel consumption usually higher for bigger rims. coz your car will need more power to spin the wheels from standstill. if you have a car with good torque, then not much difference between large or small rims. usually conti cars got higher torque. 16" still ok, just look for a set that isn't too heavy

QUOTE(smokey @ Apr 26 2009, 10:31 AM) ya lenso is better than taiwan rims...u can try search at youtube...there is a video about a tour at lenso factory in thailand...it shows the rims went under a lot of test... beside that, lenso design is more original abit, rather than copycat/replica like most taiwan rims... ya price is for 4 pieces...i drive silver blm and put 15" sc01 alloy colour... now look more garang type...very fit my blm... havent snap pic yet...hehe here is a pic of a silver persona with sc01 16" hyper color... http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...=post&id=857534i think 16" above is a better choice for persona... u should beware of replica lenso rims too...it looks same but some small thing is different... hrm... seems not that nice for persona. not like i imagined it will look like.. if that is 16", then surely 15" looks worse on persona guys, if say O.Z Racing 15" rims, how much would it cost on average?

looks great indeed. but i feel since your car is already dark colour, might be nicer if your rims are of a contrasting colour to make it stand out more. maybe silver, or gold or chrome or dark grey also can. but again, perhaps you like your car to be all dark

btw, i heard lancer's fc is really bad partly because of the stock 18" rim that's heavy. now that you have changed it, how much improvement in FC do you see? next, maybe you can put some nice brake calipers. a yellow or red one will be outstanding

wow... 550km 50 litres on highway with average 109kmph is quite high but as long as you're driving the car that you like and enjoy, it shouldn't matter too much.

nope. just make sure the diameter of the rim + your tyre is around the same after changing to the new set of rim and tyres.
suspension only need to change if you want a different suspension setup such as a stiffer ones so that you can take better corners. but of course your ride will become bumpy then

Need some help here guys. Anyone here know how much this Waja/Persona SE rim weighs?
Been trying to find this info in the internet but can't find anywhere mentioning about it. Planning to change to a different 15" rim and if can, hope it will be lighter or at least the same weight as this original rim. The set of rims i plan to change to weighs around 7.5kg each. Is this normal or considered heavy for a 15" rim? Thanks!

QUOTE(jolipoli81 @ Jan 3 2010, 05:45 PM) from my research, 7.5kg for a 15" sport rim is consider normal, there is lighter rims as light as 3-4kg, but you wouldnt want that kind of rim unless its japanese rims because it is fragile and tend to bend. thanks for sharing. i'm just worried that the one i change to is heavier and I dont want my FC to suffer because of this. The set I'm changing to has 7 spokes, while the stock rim has 6 spokes. So thought it might be heavier. Possible a 7 spokes rim around 7.5kg is lighter that the stock one in picture?

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Jan 3 2010, 09:42 PM) that too heavy for 15" wheels, mine just 3.9kg per wheels ... tips for owner who look for wheel bring along a scale to measure the rims weight then u getting .. weight too much will reduce FC and pickup performance .... if for wheels from taiwan & thailand do have light weight i think the lightest is 4.9kg per wheel, if budget got extra go for Japanese wheel or wheels maker use Forged process to make wheels or somethings like that... weight is very light and strong too ... mind I asking what brand is your rim and how much it costs you? any recommendation on shops to find good / light and not too expensive rims? From this website, seems that mostly only those forged wheels are less than 5kg for 15". But those stated are all quite expensive brands. Don't want to be spending too much... http://www.wheelweights.net/Thanks.

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Jan 4 2010, 08:33 AM) mine is from Racing Hart CP035, forged wheels....hehe .... 3k plus.... If dont want to spending too much u can try Enkei RPF1 15' if not mistaken is it 4.4k per wheel. price is just over abit 2k...this wheel is make of cast process another brand is from taiwan Advanti 4.9kg base on the their spec.... best advise can give is bring a scale to measure when u shop for a wheels... try not to get weight more then or OEM wheels.. woah.. 3k plus is way out of my budget. just thinking of getting 1 set around 1.2k. max also 1.5k Also, i tried googling the rims stated in wheelweight.net which is 15x6.5 and around 4-5+kg. I found that almost all those rims' design area not to my liking. seems like light weighted wheels have almost similar designs.. Found out there's this place called Rim World in glenmarie that is quite new and has many choices of wheels with 4 / 8 holes. Planning to check out there first if there's anything that fits my budget and to my liking Added on January 20, 2010, 7:12 pmmy new set of rims This post has been edited by dARKaNGEl: Jan 20 2010, 07:12 PM

they are refering to the diameter of the sport rim/wheel
tyre are typically measure by the numbers like 195/60/15. 195 denotes the width of the tyre, 60 denotes the thickness of the tyre measured in the ratio to the width (this case 195), and 15 means it will fit 15" rim.

yes.. they are related. for rims, they are measured in 15x6jj, 15x6.5jj, 16x7jj etc. the 15 and 16 is the diameter and the "jj" part is the width of the rim.
so if you get a tyre that is very wide, but ur rim is say 6jj, then might not fit. btw, i also what the "jj" stands for too. just know it has to do with the width of the rim

dunno how to differentiate. but i know forged rims are all from reputable/big brands mostly. if buy ori and refer to their website for the info, then shouldn't be able to go wrong. u can also use the rim weight as a way to kinda know whether it's forged or not. forged are lighter.
