well u can say some (i think not all) imitation rim are heavy and contribute to a little higher fuel consumption. thus the price difference.

Need some help here guys.

Anyone here know how much this Waja/Persona SE rim weighs?

Attached Image

Been trying to find this info in the internet but can't find anywhere mentioning about it.

Planning to change to a different 15" rim and if can, hope it will be lighter or at least the same weight as this original rim.

The set of rims i plan to change to weighs around 7.5kg each. Is this normal or considered heavy for a 15" rim?

Thanks!

from my research, 7.5kg for a 15" sport rim is consider normal, there is lighter rims as light as 3-4kg, but you wouldnt want that kind of rim unless its japanese rims because it is fragile and tend to bend.

thanks for sharing. i'm just worried that the one i change to is heavier and I dont want my FC to suffer because of this. The set I'm changing to has 7 spokes, while the stock rim has 6 spokes. So thought it might be heavier. Possible a 7 spokes rim around 7.5kg is lighter that the stock one in picture?

7.5kg for 15 inch is quite heavy, consider the 17 inch light rims will weight at 7-8kg. I found the lightest 15 inch is around 4-6kg. U can try that but be vary of potholes as it will easily damage ur rim.

that too heavy for 15" wheels, mine just 3.9kg per wheels ... tips for owner who look for wheel bring along a scale to measure the rims weight then u getting ..

weight too much will reduce FC and pickup performance ....

if for wheels from taiwan & thailand do have light weight i think the lightest is 4.9kg per wheel, if budget got extra go for Japanese wheel or wheels maker use Forged process to make wheels or somethings like that... weight is very light and strong too ...

mind I asking what brand is your rim and how much it costs you?
any recommendation on shops to find good / light and not too expensive rims?

From this website, seems that mostly only those forged wheels are less than 5kg for 15". But those stated are all quite expensive brands. Don't want to be spending too much...

Thanks.

mine is from Racing Hart CP035, forged wheels....hehe .... 3k plus....

If dont want to spending too much u can try Enkei RPF1 15' if not mistaken is it 4.4k per wheel. price is just over abit 2k...this wheel is make of cast process

another brand is from taiwan Advanti 4.9kg base on the their spec....

best advise can give is bring a scale to measure when u shop for a wheels... try not to get weight more then or OEM wheels..

woah.. 3k plus is way out of my budget. just thinking of getting 1 set around 1.2k. max also 1.5k
Also, i tried googling the rims stated in wheelweight.net which is 15x6.5 and around 4-5+kg. I found that almost all those rims' design area not to my liking. seems like light weighted wheels have almost similar designs..

Found out there's this place called Rim World in glenmarie that is quite new and has many choices of wheels with 4 / 8 holes. Planning to check out there first if there's anything that fits my budget and to my liking smile.gif

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=113&t=1041407

I got my Enkei Tuning SC09 from him. He ordered it from his supplier for me. Maybe he can order for you as well.
Reasonable price and good service
