QUOTE(loumou @ Jul 29 2017, 01:03 PM) hi peeps Why do you want to change your original German BMW rims for fake Taiwan rims?? Do you know that your ori BMW rims worth a lot more than those fake rims? wanna upgrade my f30 17" rim&tyres to 18" but thought want to buy taiwan replica instead original because price diff lot any issue using taiwan replica? and any good shop to recommend? QUOTE(myteam94 @ Jul 30 2017, 12:07 AM) anyone heard of West Lake Tyre? West Lake is one of those low budget China tires! If you look at these branding category below, it's even lower than Economy class tires, basically the lowest category similar to Linglong and Winrun! Are you still considering this because you still want to upgrade to 17' rims but with just your very low budget?is it good and reliable as other brand? read their supply for land rover and volvo car http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/ Please read this review, the top of the line West Lake finished LAST in the test and mentioned as "scored zero points in wet braking and were deemed too dangerous to use on the road." http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2016-...r-Tyre-Test.htm This post has been edited by 6UE5T: Jul 30 2017, 12:53 AM |

There's no way anyone can fit set of good 17' rims and tires with such low budget, no matter where you ask. No need to waste your time looking for Thailand made tires either (btw many premium brand tires are actually made in Thailand like PS3/4 and Goodyear F1D5!). Yup you might just be able to get PS4 with your budget, so if really can then go for it coz it's the best tire available for your 16' size now. It should elevate your car's handling even more than the V12E2. |

For taiwan rims, is it advisable to constantly take corner hard? Is it more likely to break or something?

Hi guys, 15" to 17" FC will affect much? Read quite alot and those article basically quite old.. Some said will increase ur FC some say lower due to rotation of 1 round 17" equal to 1.xx round of 15"..considering worth or not paying extra tyre cost for better cosmetic.. But same times not sure how big diff on FC

But same times not sure how big diff on FC It will be worse FC and also acceleration/performance due to heavier rims, provided that you go with normal type ones. The rotation is will be about the same as the total diameter will be similar by using thinner profile tires. The difference in FC and performance will be noticeable. If you want to go bigger rims, actually it is recommended to choose lighter one, so you won't get worse FC & performance. So when shopping for rims, don't just look at the styling but more importantly check the weight! Btw what car is yours? |

I tried swap to 16" with friend temporarily, the FC looks same but in acceleration a little diff feel significant.. Cz I wondering since bigger rim lower wall height tyre, at same time meaning the alloy is heavier than rubber ?Btw what car is yours? Current using original 15" with 65 height side wall.. Meaning later on if I change 15" other rim my profile of 195/55 the diameter will go down.. More error, current original gps vs speedometer around 5kmph diff.. For rim weight, alot of them said 4kg 5kg etc, I wonder original or normal rim weight rage around how much.. Lol Current using city.. Best looking shall be 17" but need consider cost |

Yes difference in acceleration is surely more noticeable than FC.Current using original 15" with 65 height side wall.. Best looking shall be 17" but need consider cost Difference in rims weight can be much more than difference in tire weight coz usually tires weigh about similar despite a bit different sizes (unless the difference in size is very large too).So paying attention to the rim's weight is more important. You can even go bigger size yet loose weight if you switch to lightweight rims! So it's like having your cake and eat it too, coz you get better look, better handling due to bigger and thinner tires, yet you may also gain in acceleration and maintain FC. Typical normal 15' OEM rims weigh about 6-7+kg. For City I don't recommend going for 17' coz your car is already a low powered econo car. That's why even just going to 16' already feel noticeable drop. You can still go 16' but find lightweight rims which will weigh about 5-6kg so you won't suffer in acceleration. |
