QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Jul 20 2008, 08:30 PM) I think vaseline cures mites coz it is like a gel which is oily, it can suffocate mites. This is how we treat snakes with mites, we cover them with a thin layer or vaseline to suffocate the mites. Is it ok for GPs to lick up the vaseline? It's bound to start cleaning itself when its body is covered in some fluid. If fungus, I don't think vaseline can cure.... coz it is spores, not mites wor. |

There are many factors and ways to keep your hay fresh.
Firstly, how lasting the hay is in the point of freshness, depends on the quality. Good quality hay deteriorates much more slowly than those cheap ones. Secondly, the hay must be kept dry. Moisture and warm temperatures (like Malaysia's weather) will deteriorate the hay's quality fast. Moisture and warm temperature encourages the growth of mold which is bad for your GPs if they eat it. I feel the best way to keep the moisture low is to keep the hay in plastic bags. Keeping in air tight containers also work lar but if you open and close it a lot then the moisture will go in. That's why I use 1 plastic bag of hay for feeding while the other is sealed. When it's finished, I refill the one and keep opening only that one bag. The other bag of hay remains fresh lor. |

I usually give from straight out of the fridge too. no problems.
And my mum says that washing the vege before putting in the fridge will cause the vege to rot faster, which defeats the purpose of putting it in the fridge mar. I wash it before I feed to my pigs. |

QUOTE(adriane_1707 @ Jul 24 2008, 07:59 PM) i bring 2 segar pet and the vet botak kan my gp hair and gv her medication and etc and tell me ntg wrong wit my gp; i wan knw hw long till her fur will go grow back. When my Girl Girl was barbering herself, after 1 week of nmite infection and a single time of fungus cream by the vet, her fur grew back in a little more than 1 week. I mean fur that can see more than a stubble. If your vet doesn't help it's time to seek a second opinion. |

QUOTE(adriane_1707 @ Jul 24 2008, 10:07 PM) i wan 2 faint liao.. smtg else i find out in my gp skin while i was checking her fur.. in her neck and her body got smtg like pimples dry skin. can really see she kept shreking and moving... It sounds very serious. It also could be that yur poor GP is allergic to the medication you are giving it.wht is wrong wit her i wanna cry liao lor.... frm cheras 2 tmn megah far wei.... no car have 2 use public transport. i dont knw hw serious is my gp nw.. so i dnt dare 2 use anything except for vaseline. does ivermectin sold in any pet shop? or jst vets? Since it's that serious already, all the more reason you should bring to a good vet. It's dangerous to self-medicate because wat we think might be the problem may actually not be the problem. In fact, what you're giving may actually be making the problem worse (I'm not sure but it's possible). It's like a person. Got skin rashes you just get some allergy cream for him. You keep giving him cream. Then pimple like spots began appearing. The proper thing to do is to bring to a doctor, because a doctor can run tests and perscribe the right medicine for that person. You are not a vet and may not be giving the right treatment for your piggy. If you truly love your GP, find means and ways to get it to a good vet. |

SOME of them were abbys. I saw some american short hairs with nice colors and markings in that category also. Basically they're just making more money with the "special color" bull.
I saw one I quite like but couldn't bring home cuz I have my 3 ladies. Plus the way they are kept is so filthy... Lousy food at that. People stressing them out by knocking on the glass. So pitiful... Sigh... |

Not so much as traditional ways la. It's because the standard of pet care in Malaysia has not yet risen all that high. So people don't expect to buy pets from the cleanest and shops that gives the best care for their pets.
It's living standards la. Back then people will go eat at roadside shops with a lot of lalat here and there like lalat infestation coupled with cockroach wonderland also nvm. But nowadays people where will eat in these kinda places. So these kinda dirty shops must clean up to suit consumer's needs. When people's expectation for pet care rises, there's no other way for pet shops except to be better. It's a real long way to go for Malaysia. |
