Justiny,sharil or whoever, I plan to use the floor mate oni.. never think of the bedding.. till bonai asked me...
I thought it's a must to use bedding also...
After read what Justiny has said... means, if I put newspaper at the ground 1st then cover with floor mat is enuf? then prepare the litter tray and I will use Breeder Celect for it rather than wood shaving.
My wood shaving I use for my pokimon only...

Seems like my new girl needs more preparation n nicer house than my pokimon xD also nice food n good quality hay, pellets n veggies... while my boy oni fed him with kibbles enuf.. LOL

Even I not use bedding, I also use floor mate and newspaper...
If u can afford for bedding ... dats better way..
Bedding very expenisve mah... if wanna use in GP cage, i think 1 pack of it can use at least 2 days .
I'm not sure about it coz i never try but sure in GP cage need a lot of bedding.

i put newspaper below the bedding...hukhukhuk..erm..like me..need 2 buy big bedding pack..hukhuk.. every 4 or 5 day i already change the bedding..tahan like 3 weeks jugak la...smtimes 0ne month pn tahan skit..hukhuk..but where u all buy the floor mate???

I saw it before in Ace hardware, the toilet mats. Maybe try there?

Any supermarket also got lah...like Econsave, Giant, Carrefour, can find in those household section.

Floor/Toilet mat price usually range around RM16.90 for a 6 piece set. Manage to get mine for RM 11.90 in Subang Pyramid Jusco. Alamanda Carrefour and minimart/hardware shop around cyberjaya/putrajaya are selling them for rm16+

Its normal for a Guinea pig will afraid of u when first time met their new owner..

What u need to do are:

Just sat with them on a towel stroking them gently and talking to them about random stuff. I recommend a towel because it is likely at first they may pee on you, also give them the option to hide in the towel as this will make them feel a bit more secure.

Offering them food will help as this will soon build their confidence up with you and realise you are a source of food which will gain the trust from the Guinea Pig quickly. In my experience it takes around 6 months for a Guinea Pig to be at the point of trust with you where they will come over to you when on the floor, or feel free to fall asleep on you when you cuddle them.
