u can go try it at any shops selling this model.. for me just OK OK nia la.. not very good and a bit pricy la. rm1999.. but for Samsung, its a big improvement lo..

i'm thinking of buying this f480 but after saw most of people comments on it...having f480 seem not that satisfying...at first i'm thinking of choosing g800 but it seem too big for me...i need opinion whether i should get this phone...

hey does samsung f480 has the function of TrackID music recognization? like the SE w850i.. i saw samsung website flasplayer thr is ... but i just wanna double comfirm...

i not sure also.. hmm.. never use those function also.. any1 here using this phone.. sold mine like a month ago..~ nor rm1899 for FMG set liau..~ aih..`

Pros :-

1) Superb Screen - Look at the fonts , its soo big and its easy to use

2) DRM Support & Windows Media Center/Player support - Plug and just transfer songs seamlessly. Ain't that easy. Just Plug and transfer. Works
with copy protected stuff too. Tested , it seems to be sort of a music phone. Seems to be more of a Music phone rater then a phone

3) Nice Touch Technology - Pretty Impressed with it , but again you still can't beat the iPhone ! (its a bit of pros and cons)

4) 3G + Superb Camera - SAMSUNG WITH 3G - its about time lol. The back camera seems to be great. I mean for a phone , the 5MP camera just works and 3G calls are clear. The HSPDA Speeds are great plus I truly fell in love with the browser as well. It pretty much allows you to surf most of the sites including mobile youtube as well !

Drawbacks :-

1) Lousy Software Installation - I mean to install JAVA stuff you will have to get it through a site. You can't bluetooth it or transfer directly from PC. How dumb can samsung be. They still haven't improved that

2) Lousy Battery Life - Doesn't go beyond 3 days of stand by time. A bit flat


3) Price : Features ratio - Again its a bit overpriced. It certainly has most of the stuff but again I hoped they they would throw at least WiFi


Overall this phone is nice for SAMSUNG Lovers. I mean if you're like my dad , shouldn't be a problem. The text is big and its very easy for him to read without glasses. For those of you who want more out of your phone , I guess its better to stick with your current SE or Nokia phone. Me myself , i am using HTC Trinity (Dopod D810)

I agree with some of the opinions stated here particularly regarding the nice screen etc. The thing I found out about the 'lag' effect is, on the F480, you have to use the skin of your finger for the touchscreen. If u use your nail, it won't 'grab' as smoothly. I doubt it will even work with a stylus. Once you get used to this, the 'lag' won't be so apparent. Infact, I found scrolling to be much faster using the touchscreen than using the side scroll bar/keys.

For me, the biggest selling point for F480 (over other touchtype phones) is the SIZE. Its amazingly dimunitive. I could've bought an iPhone 3G for the price-RM1.8k, if I wanted to (got a friend flying over to the US later this month), but I opted for this phone (mainly for the size). I think some of the LG touchtype phones are small too...but non as slim and as light as the F480. The iPhone 3G is huge compared to this phone.

Downside of course, it can't compare to the iPhone miniOSX and open source software platform. But, if you are like me and just wanna use the default functions on the phone, its quite sufficient.

BTW, a BIG plus in my eyes is the fact that this phone has 'removable' batteries! (vs the iPhone)

as i know, thr is the silver, pink, gold & brown...does it come in black???
cuz i nearly got a silver one last nite & wondering i should compare it with a black one???
im definitely not going for pink, gold or brown...

Ya. got black colour. my gf using golden colour. If not mistaken, it's Olympic 2008 version. LOL!

i was told that the black coloured one have a sluggish plastic casing instead of the other metal case & also the leather case comes in silver colour
which is not a good colour scheme for synthetic leather

here in pg i can get it for RM 1598 complete with 4GB ext memory card & everything
but i got mine at RM1640 cuz i damn lazy go downtown, jam,parking, etc
so let ppl untung a bit & i get my unit faster...lol

Price still not dropping fast..my gf bought her phone in August this year for RM1899

its good that samsung maintain the price, i would not want to get a phone like nokia that is cheaper day by day

But I cant find pouch for this phone. Last time I went to one shop to ask for the pouch. And the boss recommended me using LG Viewty pouch.
OMG! That pouch is big, and F480 cant fit in firmly. LOL!
