i believe its for a storage device which you'll need if you're gonna use the BD-live function.

read the manual lah...

because sony limits it to thumb drives only (cannot put external HDD)...am wondering if pioneer is doing the same

ok ... becoz of u, i went & read the farking manual tongue.gif

it says :
the data downloaded with BD-live can be stored on device connected to USD port. (u r rite) thumbup.gif

The USB devices tat can be connected to player are :
- USB 2.0 compatible memory devices or hard disks
- FAT16 or FAT32 file system, min 1GB capacity (2GB or more recommended)

Note :
- Devices formatted with a file system other than the above cannot be used. Such devices may however be usable if they are formatted from the player
- external sotrage devices may not be recognized if they contain multiple partitions
- some external sorage devices may not operate with this player
-- operation of external storage devices is not guaranteed

I used it for my handycam there as well smile.gif
as long as the power adaptor of the device can accept 100V~240V range
u can use it anywhere in the world
*
i think the voltage is not the only thing you need to look out for. you need to make sure the device is not drawing more current than the rated output of your adapter.

speaking of display in HT, this tagline by Blu Ray association (i think its them who came up with this) is quite true as well..

"Without Blu Ray, your HDTV is JUST a TV"

no one denies that it is a tv or display, depends on how you perceive it.

think the idea of the tagline means that it wont utilize its full potential without blu ray.

thought that message is obvious enough.
