QUOTE(clieman @ Nov 2 2008, 11:48 PM) PM me if you need 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda SATA HDD. The last time I was in Low Yat price range fromRM670-700 & indent order only. They dare not keep stock as they are afraid of price drop. I still have few units with me full warranty, 1st year 1 to 1 from disty & subsequent 4 year sent back to Seagate in USJ Summit. This post has been edited by adamw: Nov 3 2008, 06:31 PM |

Did you try? It said transcoding on the fly. There for you can playback RMVB files directly.
Note from hdx1080.com QUOTE Great news for users who have tons of RMVB movies but was not able to play it back since the NMT does not support RMVB. This has changed with the introduction of Myihome v5.1.3 now supporting RMVB transcoding! This means that myihome will transcode the RMVB movies on the fly (depending on the speed of your processor) and you do not need to convert them 1 by 1, saving your precious time! Finally have a chance to setup the HDX-1000 last night. The manual is only sufficient for basic stuff and suck in the advance feature like Samba share, advance setup, function in remote control etc.
Got a 1T WD GreenPower from Lowyat and installed NMT application, start transfering file via FTP and only found out that FTP can't do UNICODE filename, so only manage to discover SAMBA share and set unicode filename. While in the middle of heavy file transfer (via router and WiFi from two PC to HDX-1000), it crashed a couple of times when you try to play movie at that time. Otherwise it is ok. Also disappointed to find out that there is no .idx/.sub bitmap subtitle support. Normal LAN transfer speed is around 5 to 7 MB/s. |

I get ~ 8mbs when I transfer files between PCs at home. I wonder that is the normal speed for a 54mb router.

QUOTE(adamw @ Nov 6 2008, 11:28 PM) MyIhome runs on a PC, when I buy the NMT I intend to do away with the PC. If you do it this way might as well buy HTPC. means the MyIhome has tu run on PC in order for the HDX to play RMVB files?QUOTE(clieman @ Nov 8 2008, 01:23 AM) Finally have a chance to setup the HDX-1000 last night. QUOTE(bata @ Nov 9 2008, 11:20 PM) .sub? according to official specs it support the .sub subtitles I kena con also. This sub is the text format in MicroDVD format. Bitmap not supported.may i know if the Chinese subtitles can display well too? Chow Chinese subtitle like Unicode encoded txt in .srt is support, provided you change the menu/language to Chinese in HDX first, otherwise you'll see funny characters. Added on November 12, 2008, 11:49 am QUOTE(rx330 @ Nov 11 2008, 12:18 AM) It take about 15 secs to start stream the RVMB over to the HDX. I had a Pentium E2140 and it happily stream over the WiFi connection to the HDX-1000 with no issue. The only problem is with my old firmware it "hang" after stop playing RMVB file. There is a new firmware released a few days ago and I have yet to try it out yet.Added on December 4, 2008, 12:11 amFor those who has Chinese Subtitle bitmap file and wanted to create your own Unicode .srt file, use IdxSubOcr. Remember to change all the "." into "," otherwise it won't be viewable. Google it for download This post has been edited by clieman: Dec 4 2008, 10:53 AM |

1. no sound, unless u convert the audio trough ur pc then playback at the hdx
2. ac3 = dolby digital 5.1, the hdx shud have the internal decoding if u plug in ur lcd, use hdmi will do, and set as stereo, for ac3 u will have sound, but for dts, no sound, tats it |
