What I would really like to see is a comparison between the HDX-1000 and Sarotech DVP-570X. http://www.sarotech.com/english/product/dvp-570x.html

The folks at Sarotech has added the DVP-570X with a fan hole for cooling, compared to the previous model, DVP-570S which lacks this fan. I know a normal SATA HDD will run at 40C or more without fan, even higher at closed environment. The HDX-900 review has confirmed this heat problem.

Would HDX-1000 address this issue?

But that Sarotech uses Sigma 8623 chipset....older model compared to PCH.

I get ~ 8mbs when I transfer files between PCs at home. I wonder that is the normal speed for a 54mb router. hmm.gif

Yes, you will need a pc to play rmvb files. Install myIhome on the PC and network it to the HDX.
