hahaha..i also did the same thing..talk to my cats that they lucky rather than the strays..
i always talk like that if they are too choosy about the food..
currently i changed to sc plan from rc as the price hikes up..but my male cat dun wan to eat and i talked to him that he is lucky than the strays..after that he starts to eat the kibbles..i think he understand what i said..  
i didnt suddenly change the food..mix the sc plan with rc and now fully sc plan..
thank God they are eat like usual..

Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by a parasite known as Toxoplasma gondii. This single-celled organism is commonly found throughout the world and tends to infect birds and mammals. The parasitic eggs (oocytes) must be ingested by mouth, which means the infection is not contagious. Humans become infected with toxoplasma via contact with infected animal faeces. Cats are the main hosts; they acquire the parasite from eating infected rodents or birds and, in turn, pass the infection to their human handlers. Another mode of transmission is touching or eating raw or undercooked lamb or pork, since the parasites can be stored in small pockets (cysts) within the muscle tissue.

Toxoplasmosis is sometimes asymptomatic
In most cases of animal and human infection, toxoplasmosis does not cause any symptoms, even though antibodies may remain in the body for a long time. Symptoms, if they do occur, include:

    * Swollen lymph glands
    * Muscle aches and pains
    * Headache
    * Fever
    * Generally feeling unwell
    * Inflammation of the lungs
    * Inflammation of the heart muscle
    * Eye problems.

Cats and sandpits
The parasite eggs, or oocytes, are robust and hardy. They can survive in water, soil or sand for around 12 months. Young children who play in sandpits and gardens may be at risk if they come in contact with infected cat faeces. Precautions include:

    * Make sure your child’s sandpit can be covered when not in use
    * Discourage stray cats from your property
    * Ask your child to always wash their hands thoroughly before eating.

Precautions for your household cat
Cats are only infectious for a few weeks after ingesting the parasites, so kittens are more likely to pass on the infection than older cats. Suggestions on reducing the risk of infection in your cat include:

    * Keep your cat indoors whenever possible
    * Don’t allow the cat to hunt and eat birds or other wildlife
    * Feed your cat canned or dry foods, instead of raw meat.

I rescued a calico female cat that was pregnant last Wednesday at the Taman Melati LRT. She was teased and poked and kicked often but she has the sweetest temperament. I couldn't stand it when a guy used his foot to press her pregnant tummy while she was sleeping. Then he teased her with his empty Pepsi can. I got pissed, carried her away and took her to Pet Epicure for boarding 1st.

The cat, I still call her Momma cat, spent 2 days at the pet shop before I brought her home. I gave her an empty room at my aunt's house, and she went into labour in the afternoon and gave birth to 5 kittens in the evening.

First time I am keeping a cat with new born kittens, sadly, I cannot keep any as my 2 dogs are cat killers.... but I am liking this experience. Momma cat is getting Orijen kitten food, she has a box with old tshirts that she birth her kittens in. She is such a good mother, stays very close to them everyday, and is so clean fro a stray cat, she uses her litter box well too.

Anyway, I hope to find some nice homes for them once they are ready. There are 2 black and whites, 1 ginger with a white collar, 2 tabby kitties....
