cleaning ears rite, firstly just use a cotton bud and clean ur cats ears..can got as deep as u can coz its impossible to reach their eardrum..its far inside tht we can touch it...clean all the dirt away, then apply the ear cleaner thing...f to do it at least few days once, coz ear mites build up fast in the ears..

Added on August 11, 2008, 11:38 amhehe i keep my cat indoors mostly...coz she is a brave cat in the house but outside, she can be bullied so easily..i only bring her outside when im there with her..hehe like a baby...

hmm but despite being an indoor cat since young, she has very high hunting instinct...whenever she sees a lozard,frog , bird, or whatever insect or animals tht she can eat, she starts acting wild...she loves to hunt every night inside my house itself..once she caught a bird, but fortunately, i managed to rescue the bird..once she bit a frogs head..once she killed a lizard and everyday she kills cockroaches...not to say me house has lots of insects but they come from the garden..n she always sits by the window to look at insects outside...too wild la..but she is a DSH..i think she somewhat has the jungle cats blood in her

cat lovers...i need help..

since last wednesday, one of kittens has been having diarrheria and vomitting..the vomiting is not always lah..i think just 4 times..mostly the vomits only contains the dry food that he has eaten. but last nite he vomits like salive or something..dunno wats wrong lah with him...i was thinking that it might just go away in c ouple of days but after last nite got me scared loh

do u guys have any recommendations on which vet around subang/shah alam that has a resonable price?

did you change your cat good?
is it outdoor?
ever go for deworm?

every month i use the spot on to clear all out the mite..

nope..never went outdor except at the balcony area...otherwise its always indoors...and yup..went for his first dewormed last month..

sorry cat food.. did u change them? due some food shock, some cat will vomit if you suddenly change their food...
vomit the dry food again, also sometimes cause by parasites and worms.

for how long your cat vomiting? is like continuously now?

yeap the ears are like L shape.

go too deep also cannot lah friend. you know the ears are very sensitive. even our ears sensitive. you will make your cat feel like in hell, and crying. just clean the one you can see with your eyes... and then use the ear drops.

u use frontline spot on every month to clear all the mites? wow so rich

em, i did gave them boiled fish that i had blend...but i mix with their dry food..em, not continuously lah..last thursday and friday i found vomit. and last nite i heard him vomit...

so scared lah...

oowww diet changes..

i have one cat like that if she eat dry food she will be ok.. if i give wet food, boil chicken... she will vomit all that and look still fresh from inside the stomach eheheheh...

my vet told me, my cat have this sensitive stomach. there's no sign of disease or sickness. she's just not into other food beside the dry food.

she went back with no medicine at all, vet told me no need to give drugs cos she don't have anything serious. after that few vomit, she's ok already. now i give wet food and boil chicken, she automatically refuse it scare vomit again. LoL!

so take not that, cat do have = sensitive stomach and food allergic.

p/s my problem might not be the same as yours. if you see this keep happening, check with your vet. the worst part is when you see your cat is not active at all... kind like stop eating... and when vomiting there's something weird coming out - like maybe green,yellow,red color.

my cat has similar problem despite me not changing her food.. vomiting sometimes is usual.. can be beacuse they r hyperactive or either stressed up..Sometimes, it might be because of fur ball..but then they best is to bring them to the vet..

Had that experience with my kittens years ago cos of TWO factors; food AND worm.

Food: We've been feeding them normal cow milk, hehe. Well, I was young and stupid (12 yrs ago). Other reasons, could be cos the kitten's not used to dry food. Maybe try giving them wet food like tuna (or change the dry food to other brand). See whether it makes difference.

My 11 yr old also will somehow vomit if she eats boiled fish. Ikan goreng bleh pulak bantai!

Worm: Yes, this is one major prob with kitties. Mom has worms, worms goes to kitties. Such a nuisance for me last time cos they poop on the wall, or at the edge of the litter. Yuckies! You can go to vet for a de-worming jab or a tablet/liquid from pet shop or vet. One or two tablet costs as cheap as RM4 or so.

My hometown is Shah Alam, and they have a few vet here, one in Section 6 and one in Section 13. My 9 yr old cat died in Sect 6 clinic, so going there brings bad memories, so we go to Sect 13 instead, lol. Plus, its cheaper there. But the assistant/cashier is not so friendly, hehe. Oh well, they're 'cheap'.

If you're interested to try Sec 13, let me know. I don't have the full address as the papers and documentation are all back in my hometown. I only have the phone number though. Will give my mom a call tonight for full address.

fuh...thank god..i thought that furkid of mine gonna die or something..but nevertheless, i'm gonna bring him to a vet tonite..xpe lah if its gonna be expensive for this one time..rather then he suffers..rite?

mm..another question...what are your opinions bout eiter buying litter box with flap doors.. (they say its to prevent odor , but dunno if it works or not ) or just buy normal litter plus the deodorisng powder..

em, for those who had use okoplus b4, does it clumps the pee as well?

i use both litter box with doors and the one open air. sama saja lah, i don't see any different, unless if that litter box got flush toilet then baru tak ada bau LoL!

your litter type is the important one. cheaper brand smell so bad because they don't even clump. medium is ok for me, since my litter boxes are near to the windows. expensive type can't afford now, i rather buy expensive food than invest in litter. 10 cats used like 6-8 packs of 10L per month.

OKO ada dua jenis kan. the expensive one is very good - for all type of litter, i will vote for OKOPLUS.

o..okoplus got two types eh? didnt know lak all i know is taht 10L of okoplus is about rm47 or 49 at pet's wonderland

i tried almost everything lah el..but they always can tahan for only 1 week (1 week = 3/4 of 5kg bag) eventhough i scoop the poo everyday..after 1 week, it'll smell so bad..cannot tahan the ammonia smell lah..huhu..

i tried almost all also, thats how i know which one prefer the most. i clean 3-4 times a day... so i won't put too many litter inside the box. unless if im not at home the whole day, then i will add more.

that's why i use clumping one, so the clump urine can be move easily. if the cheap one, it didnt clump, so all mix up with the good one.. thats why very smelly..

OKOplus the expensive one, the one you mention just now... clump like a jelly... looks cool too the cheap OKO didnt clump, it just "menyedut" eheheh.

how many cats do you have anyway? if 3/4 of 5kg can last for a week than that sound alot of cats... if you put too much inside the litter box, when it all mix up and smelly you end up throwing the whole thing. thats why i don't put to much. but cannot do like me also, because i clean it 3-4 times a day.

Anyone knows what cat breed is this? This photo is taken from Feline Malaysia. It looks a bit like my cat that I adopted recently. He doesn't look like a normal domestic cat. Looks similar to this cat

My tripod cat. Doc said he's mixed breed...is he? or just kg cat? I saturated the color one 2nd pic. Actual color is the first one. His orangey and yellow color has become paler....is it a bad sign? Hm?

hey, was asked by a roomate, is spaying/neutering cats permissible in Islam?

I read a few articles, one of them is in wiki that says spaying/neutering are permissible in Islam due to the fact that it maintain the health and welfare of both the animals and the community, neutering is allowed on the basis of 'maslahat' general good or "choosing the lesser of two evils.

You can also read here for more elaborations from the Hadith.

Furthermore, I think de-clawing for me is a no-no and just plain cruel. No offense. I pity the cat. Can't imagine if I'm the cat.
