Well the scoreline may look bad but lets not forget that this is a scratch team made out of players who might not even know each other. You guys need to built up the understanding as a team.

Again, be thankful i wasn't playing, else it might have been 10-1 instead.

my performance also quite poor...i realize that i cant play solo striker...must get somebody along side with me...the formation goes like 4-4-2

Vampy,
You must utilise your burst of speed and pace against the opposition. Maybe you should have put a note to your mates to try more thru passes or flick the ball that would enable you to burst away. Never attempt to dribble excessively when you're playing the lone striker.

sorry to hear bout the result. pick urself up and start to come on saturdays again to play together. if not a training session, at least a kick around in a big field would do a lot of good. at least cud practice making sure the passes is good.

what happen the other day? thot jonno bringing sum player fr selangor youth squad as well to help out. or the other team just another class above.

to gord, i think i know that kind of situation. if the teamwork is there, u might not even need a stopper to work with as well. make sure u stay close but not too close to the ones holding the ball that wud allow the guy behind u free. in other words, try to delay him while waiting for ur teammates to come back and cover the area with the extra man and then only u can challenge him for the ball. if sumhow he manage to pass to the free man, the pass wouldnt have been as easy as a tap in. in that case, u hope for ur keeper to do his job and keep the ball from goin in. bad luck i shall say if that happens!

I actually had a long chat with the keeper at the end of the session; we stayed back for almost an hour I think... it was a good learning experience as he's played for numerous clubs and has a lot of experience.

We spoke about how teams usually play and how coaches employ their tactics and even all the basics which we all lack and was crucially exposed during the game. Eg player positioning - a lot of us didn't know where to run or stand, and the whole team were running around like headless chickens. Wingers always closely with the right/left backs (watch the EPL games, eg Dossena-Riera and Arbeloa-Kuyt). How center-backs must command the line, etc. A whole load of stuff... footballing knowledge that is, that cannot be learned by just banging balls on the field but instead must be taught!

i agree alot with the wingers be close with the LB and RB def...wingers play an important role in defending similar to RB and LB play a role in making overlaps in attacking...however this is hard to play cuz to do these overlaps the central mid field must be able to hold off advances from opposition b4 the LB/RB can commit and let go their position to make the overlap...if the LB/RB aredi run for the overlap then the ball is lost in midfield kesian ler he must lari balik n def and waste his strength doing the overlap

I don't think I have the fitness level to go up with the wingers, so i stayed down most of the match.

Agree with what Mike said, along with Mike, I thought we would be able to compete, but we lost out in most area, most notably in the centre of midfield. With only our new Mascherano aka Zhun running around. I don't blame him for reacting that way, it was a cynical tackle that took the man rather the ball, to be honest, these are the tackle that put a player out of a game. I am all for tackles, but the main thing is that you should go for the ball, not the man.

I guess the main problem is that we always seem to play with a few new players in the team. I think it's time now to get proper team together, with commitment. We would want someone committed, that would come for each and every game. For that I reckon we should do what KK suggested yesterday, start a collection and maybe we have 2 games a month, with training sandwich in between, to eradicate the mistakes from the week before. Also, we should seriously look at some jerseys as we looked too much like a scratch team.

What do you think Mike? Fellas, what do you think? My suggestion is a fee of RM 50 each month and we'll get the friendlies arranged, say twice a month. The fee would cover things like pitch rental, referees, water during the game, and some other miscellaneous.

Shall we limit the team to say 16 players? What say you fellas? Shall we call the team MyRAWK? We are trying to start a football team for MyRAWK anyway, so why not just combine it? thumbup.gif flex.gif

I'm not exactly keen on the $ idea for the simple fact that we have a grand total of 5 committed players... everybody else only appears during friendlies! I think the chances of building a team for MyRAWK is much higher... at least MyRAWK is a proper setup with a committee team that can get things done over a long period of time. Things here are a bit too "loose" if you know what I mean; and I'm doing jacksh1t for the team!

To take your idea just a step further... we can organize our weekly Sat games with players from both parties. That way we can slowly build up the numbers. Players who are in it seriously, or just casually, all are welcome. An "official" squad for friendlies can be selected based on the committed players that show up.

Anyhow there will not be a game this Saturday as there's our LYN-MyRAWK futsal thing going on. We can get started with field games the following week.
