QUOTE(aiman04 @ Sep 12 2008, 08:31 AM) Eh, the 10R is peasant sub... You'll need at least 12R to be to get the elite-o-meter to work. I'm seeing people discussing SVS Ultra, REL Strata II, Paradigm Servo 15 here. Now those are Level 8-9 in the elite-o-meter reading. Bro, buy another sub to make it double like arj. Works wonder. Abt the elite subs talk, discussion only mah Servo-15 best price : RM12xxx. This one really blows SPL away IMHO

If I have ample space for it, I would buy Servo-15. It is in my wish list. Now, gotta save enough $$$ for other bigger project.

QUOTE(arremie @ Sep 14 2008, 08:42 PM) Why do you guys need such a powerful sub? I bet ur place is not that big either giving average home size here. If you crank up the volume it will swallow every other sound. Kind of pointless. Kiasu is it? Taikor, small sub always has limitation of going real deep and low. So, the sole choice is big sub if you want really low freq. You dont need to crank that high for powerful sub. The trick is how to blend it in nicely to complement your sys. If you get that, then you will have very nice sounding setup w/o overpowering bass. My room is small though So, a 12" that could go below 27Hz would be ideal. Next, as low as 20Hz, if not lower

If I have ample space for my HT room, I would go for full range speakers for each channels. Holy Grail! This organsm is unbeatable. LOL!

QUOTE(s6xs9x @ Sep 15 2008, 12:07 PM) sub still need, even with reffrence speakers down to 20Hz . the power from the sub can't be replaced by any speakers .. unless very very powerfull amps, but you won't wanna push your speakers tooo much. let the sub do the job. Depending on individuals. Some will buy a sub for each channel. Then, use high pass to connect speakers. In this configuration, you will have 8 subwoofers and 7 speakers. The other alternative is to use power amp for each channel to drive those full range speakers. If money no object, monoblock will be given the task

QUOTE(felix.tigerlix @ Sep 15 2008, 06:43 PM) Hey guys, just wondering anyone of you use PA system at home? How big is the boom?! I guess near to zero or could be nil. PA system creates more noise than our proper system. On its audio quality, I would say it is far apart from what we enjoying. However, cant blame it as it is intended for public announcement usage. Bro aiman, A&L never fails on this. I have received CNY card from them for nearly a decade.

QUOTE(mpyw @ Sep 16 2008, 08:52 AM) Finally got time for TF last night.... The ironhide flipover and fire to the ground scene is phenomena!!! Feels like nuclear boom goes off and whole house vibrating...the sound is not the BOOOOOOM type, but low low grunt like something hitting a hollow ground...it's now a blast....I think it goes below 20Hz......great feel....great scene.... Got to wait til end month to fully test TF.

Makes you feel like you're in the plane I have this BD too. Quite a nice movie. AQ is good. But, will test it again once my new subbie arrives. Now, didnt watch any movie. Only listen to music.

QUOTE(megatron007 @ Oct 3 2008, 11:29 AM) gonna to try out later or weekend... anyone getting SPL1200? Bro, you buying ah? This sub is in diff league compare to CHT-12R. My friend's SPL1200R tapao his very own B&W both 6 series sub. But, his room is nicely done with no vibration and very good acoustic treatment. When you are here, I ll bring you over to test it out. But, no antidote provided

Any photo of your setup, timothyy? Maybe too many hard surfaces for the bass to bounce around. Or simply due to the stiffness of the ceiling itself

LOL.... Everyone needs to endure this hiccup when it comes to renovation. My home has problems too after renovation. But, minor only.
Do you have carpet to absorb the sound reflection? It could somehow reduce the vibration.

I believe that with proper acoustic treatment, it could be rectified.
