You also probably won't get the long and winding explanations in the cutscenes so you can probably safely skip them.

altot u r confusing with some of the characters,
but it still goes well with the game itself alone,
dun worry, more like u r watching a hollywood movie.

you will probably enjoy the gameplay side of MGS4,but not the story.

MGS starts off the whole MGS series. (so you will meet characters, and hate/love them)
MGS2 brings in a few new entities which would re appear in some form in MGS4.
MGS3 brings you back to the 60's,with even more new characters, and you will find out the history behind some bad/good guys.

MGS3 is absolutely critical if you want to feel the impact of MGS4's ending.

I respectfully disagree. There are just too many exposition scenes: people talking about what happened/is happening/will happen. There are some cool fight scenes and/or boob shots but the bad outweigh the good by a hefty margin. My first play through, I fell asleep during the cut scenes before Act 1 escape and Act 2 boss, after act 3 and 4 boss fights. The long ass mission briefings doesn't help.

the game already has multiplayer(which is constantly being updated, and is aimed at a 10 year lifespan)

it's got it's own "trophies" (the emblems)

it's got a ton of unlockables(from facecamo to weapon upgrades)

i doubt they will think of trophies anytime soon tongue.gif

i personally see no use for it

not sure if it's been said, but found a bug in the middle east section of the game.

just after meeting the rat patrol, and dispatching the frogs, you'll encounter a small battlezone with a tank on the militia's side.

if you lean against the tank, and it moves, snake will stay "stuck" to the tank! laugh.gif

you can even lean left/right despite the fact that the tank is nowhere near your position! laugh.gif

remember the 2 sleeping geckos? i passed them right to the end and i can see the 2 horizontal line appear stating that i've reach a checkpoint... but nothing happens after that!

no cutscene, no game loading... nothing... it's just a dead end

I think you're at the part where you have to crawl under the door.

Try it. Thats the only part I remember where there are two sleeping gekkos.

Good evening fellow MGS Fans.

A coupla days ago, the full soundtrack reached my doorstep from Amazon, and having listened to it, i was rather disappointed at it. =(

Dont get me wrong, the production quality, mixture, song composition and variations are very tastefully done by both of the camps (williams, and the jap team) and everything suited the theme and feel of the game EXTREMELY WELL...

But i had one major major gripe...

There's no main theme to the tune of Metal Gear. You know, that Metal Gear tune in the previous 3 soundtracks... How can this be ?!?! WOW... sad.gif really,.. how can it not have a main theme ?!?!

After giving it some thought, i know it was replaced with the 'Old Snake' track to better suit Snakes 'end journey', but COME ON !!! I feel somewhat robbed.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater's soundtrack is and still remains, BY FAR, BY MILES, AND BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS the absoloute BEST in terms of gaming soundtrack, just next to Final Fantasy's soundtracks.

I sought refuge with the "Father and Son", "Metal Gear Saga", "Love Theme" and of course, "Old Snake" tracks.
