Agree, i like Harberth setup too, reluctant to leave the room after listening such natural, transparent music.

Regretably with Sonus Faber Stradivari speakers sound too boomy until my ears couldn't stand it, mostly wrong setup.

Each day we demo-ed with different setup. The best setup is on Friday, AR + Goldmund + Transparent.
The room is out because the next door doing HT demo. If you have good music listening experience you can immediately notice the difference.

Our Audio equipment needs to pay taxes. Those AV equipments Made in Malaysia once walked out from the factory or FTZ zone the items have to pay tax on the spot.

Last few day, I don't have time to write my visit to the KLIAV show.

I went there early in the morning Friday. What disappointed me that the organiser lady from the counter also give the wrong info time to start. The poster there write 11.30am to start and the lady also said so....funny... I told them that I saw all the webpage or newspaper written 11am....I already there since 10.45am.....I think they are not properly brief....When I asked somemore, another old lady confirm is 11am

More to come, After I get/buy my heavy barang, the penjual/seller also don't how to bring the heavy and big barang down to car park....at last when reach to lift and ask....we can go down using the lift.....but....go to LLG first and come out..wait ..then go to LG and later wait (wait , in out in out...pening..what a long journey) and talk to find out how to go down to car park...all this direct by the organiser ppl......what a bad organising.........Very poor organising....The lady dare to question us.....why you come out to this level... with bad manner....what a bad PR......all of this is direct your organizer ppl......Me and my wife get mad with this lady really....This all the sad story......

Anyway, I only manage to buy not my early intented subwoofer.....I brought Jamo D6 Subwoofer(with THX Ultra2 and RMS 400watt) at price RM$1650...what a powerful sub....I think i get the cheap subwoofer as I look into the webpages and found out that the D6 Subwoofer cost USD $1599....without second thought, I decide the get this sub...cause with THX and 400 watt RMS....at this price...cannot get la...somemore with warrathy


One corner at the 4 floor also selling Hwe seng barang lie Jamo speaker...cheap..but no warrathy...I ask why no...later I find out..all the item is reject items from customer which reject during deluvery...waaah....so dangerous...even they offered me RM$1000 for the Jamo 300 sub...(HN price can get $1500 with warranty)...I rather don't want to buy...The y said the box is damaged only...but i see it like the box kena "wet"...sorrry...don't buy...all otther item also the same...later I leave the place wihout consider to see again

Desa Home theather..initially I went to there first....I ask on the Wharfy Sub 250...they give me RM$2000....I told him...last time you offer me RM$1800....why still the same price..the same guy he offered me when I visited them at their kedai....somemore...he want cash....and ask me to carry myself...alamak.....decide...leave the place....what for go susah susah to the AV show and didn't get better discount...the guy also tell me...cannot get better price here la...same will get when go to their shop...aiyaa....

Many ppl said Velodyne sub is good...I chose to go and visit the A&L...unlucky...they have not setup the counter yet...no chance to audit it....haaaaa...anyway...alas...I still get the cheap cheap THX Jamo D6 Sub...

due to no time somemore...and not able to get my dvd upscaling also....Moreover...I feel the AV fair not really can give many special promotion...lucky i get one....

Anyway...I hope I can get it during the Merdeka sales....

hoho, nice write up alps. congratulations that u made the right choice for the sub, if i had the same situation i would do the same. unfortunately this trip hasnt been good for u, like a lot of halangan in front. firstly, stupid and rude organisers. then stupid pricing by so call super offer shop. and u didnt try the velodyne sub.

but i must tell you. the velodyne. though small in size. but the bass that kicks out,. is like i have never heard b4, they were demoing celine dion when i was there. the small little sub was surprisingly great, but also great in price as well , maybe a&l overprice it.

i also went to the cheap sale no warranty place. tempted to get the cheap cheap speaker set. but my logics in my brain tell me no point wasting this money. go for the proper ones. also there was an amp selling for 1300 which i eventually went of feeling very upset i didnt buy, but on second thought, if i get that amp. my journey to hd will end. as i will waste rm1300 on an ancient but powerfull amp. which dont have hdmi and also no true hd decoding. plus no dcdi systems. so i think no point. better off with a new amp.

but as for you, i think it was really tiring that day. and plus all the headache and heartache. but at least when u go home u got a nice sub that will shake the neighbours down. anyway do take a pic of the setup and show us ya. i so envy ur HT

happy with my dvd philips 5996 that i got for rm369 with free hdmi from desa...sadly this player dont have optical out...but coaxial is ok also...

hope it's not sold for cheaper at other places lah...if not waste time only going to the av show...haha

Coaxial sounded so much better than optical. The bandwidth also higher. I have the previous model 5986 before and love it. Too bad I have to sell it to get Pioneer 600AV (and maybe because I have another 2 DVD player in the house )

i'm using Coaxial too simply becos my old amp dun support HDMI input.Btw,i also tried with optixcal b4 but i cant tell the diff.

Dude you got to try QED Performance Audio coaxial cable. The sound really open up with this cable

I bought it online from Futureshop UK and got it ship to me. Its much cheaper than buying here and only take about 1 week to ship here from UK.

bandwidth? make sense jugak...

coz recently i used optical, my yamaha amp cant detect dts signal...change to coaxial...could detect...so maybe it's the connection or the cables...but about this bandwidth thing, since dts has higher bandwidth...i guess it make sense that coaxial could carry a bigger bandwidth range...or something like that
