the original alarm is still there and so is the original imobilizer.

the car's been at the SC since Firday. Its now noon time, monday, still no feedback. I called, they mentioned still checking. Sigh!!! Its problems like this that gives Proton a bad name. Otherwise, especially with the Savvy, my 2 weeks problem free time with it was good ... very nice to drive compared to my stolen ATOS and also my family MyVI. Its a car that makes you wanna just go out and drive!!

Hope fully proton can come thru with this and not make excuse.

Which service center you sent your car to?

Very good FC. thumbup.gif

I have one question. Normally we should change gear at how much rpm (for every gear) in order to achieve good fuel consumption?

Thanks.

Maybe it's the handbrake problem?

I think you may send your car to the service center for further checking.

any harm to leaking red liquid? may I know wats tht for?

appreciate if any1 can help wif tis...thx

1. close the engine and plug out the key d but the front compartment still got sound of fan still turning?

This is normal. As the fan will still be on for a while eventhough already turn off the engine. It is for cooling purpose. The fan will be off by itself after a while.

2. any harm to leaking red liquid? may I know wats tht for?

Not really sure on your question, you mean there is red liquid leaking underneath your car?

4)usually after how many months or years the problem will come? mine is oct 08 car... today i have problem starting my car...

hi Junyen, can I know how much is your car's mileage now?

I thought Proton already changed newer version of ignition coil on Savvy?

1) could be, or it could be just your throttle body needs cleaning.
2) no, only the coil
3) yes, cos the base design of the coil itself is faulty
4) for me, bought car in 05, after ~2 years had to change once, now approaching 3.5 years old starting to super jerk & hard to start again.
*
Regarding the hard to start problem, is it due to dirty speed sensor(TDC sensor) that needs cleaning?

*
I read from SAVOC.net that usually the cause for hard to start problem is due to the TDC sensor/speed sensor.

One question, if we are driving using the AMT's manual mode, when changing gears, should we release the accelerator pedal, push the gear knob, then resume pressing accelerator pedal?
or we can just change the gear without the need to release the accelerator pedal at all?

i mean when upshift and also downshift the gears.

Thanks.

initially, i released pedal when manually shifting gear, car buck like mad especially changing from gear 1 - 2. Then one day, i forgot to release pedal and wah, the gear change smooth ...
just have to remember not to 'push pedal to accellarate' while changing gear, just maintain presure.
*
i see. you guys have been using the manual mode since the first day you got the car?

Hi everyone,

I have one problem with my 6 months old Savvy which happened intermittently.

There is sound coming from the engine bay when accelerating, the sound gone when the car is idle.

The sound is some sort like fan turning/rotating sound, it only happens if I turn on the air-con and accelerating. I have tried switch off the air-con and the sound is gone.

And it happens intermittently, most commonly during cold weather like early morning or night time. Some other time, this sound does not come up, and the car is quite quiet, I can only hear the soft engine and gear changing sound when driving.

Already sent to service center for checking, but they checked and found nothing wrong. They mentioned that since it is intermittent problem, so they also can't really pin-point the cause of the sound.

Any idea what is wrong with it? or does anyone here faced this problem before?

Thanks in advance.

Is it the air cond compressor clutch in sound? Your car kind of lose power for a while... then in a while the air cond gets colder...
*
I didn't feel any lose of power for the car when the sound comes, everything seems normal, just that can't stand the irritating sound. sad.gif

Is it in 5th gear? accelerate in 5th gear from low rpm? I got that sound too... but i don't bother... when i just got my car already have... cuz i always shift to 5th gear at low speed..
*
For my case, the sound can comes regardless what gear.

And i notice the sound only comes when starting the car from cold. For example early morning and night time. Have tried driving during noon and evening, the sound does not appear.

The sound that you face is also some sort like fan turning/rotating sound?

Mine is like..... something uneven which is rotating and creating continues sound according to engine speed... but when i cruise it's nothing, only acceleration...

Hmm, yours is kinda weird... anybody home?? we need help!!:)
Anyway, I'll try to observe whether mine has that sound or not...
Haven't been driving my Savvy for a week, cause of accident... miss it so much...!!
*
i see. hmm...I think mine is similar like yours, perhaps I described the sound differently. laugh.gif

For me it sounds like something rotating/vibrating (sound coming from front engine bay) and the sound will be more obvious if I switch the air-con volume to lower (like volume 1 or 2) and then press harder a bit on the accelerator pedal to accelerate. If I press the accelerator pedal softly, the sound is also become kinda soft.

I think I will bring this up to the service center again during the next service. sigh... sweat.gif

btw, haven't been driving for a week? what happened to your car?

MT... but mine is Lite version with the skinny and rusty exhaust pipe... is that a reason for not exceeding 150kmh? If it does.. I'm planning to have r3 muffler.. but, i kinda like the sleeper look of my car~~ smile.gif

How good if I have a straight flow exhaust and an open pod...
Mine is Manual... no mods either... and it's a 6 months car...

Engine replacement?? d4ft? Omg... Savvy's engine bay is so small.. if not, a 1.5 liter engine should be good~

Added on May 11, 2009, 9:42 pmI just got back my car today... and those bunch of people just f*cked up my gearbox... now whenever i push to 1st gear, it's reverse...and the ring is useless... I have to find the 1st gear some where around the 3rd gear's position... and i lost my 5th gear!!I'm SOO PISSED!!!!

Anyway, I'm gonna send this back to the sc... Let the Proton guys handle this...

Moral of the story... not everyone knows how to drive our car.. so, do teach them to pull the ring up to engage reverse...
*
omg...which service center did that to your car?

Wow.. lovely car... is that r3 muffler?? Anyway nice rims... and reli look so 'rally car' cuz park on the grass.. hahaha...

@Death_nite
Club?? GLAD to be in the club!  cry.gif

And the mess... today when to alam megah sc... he fix it back for me.. the whole arm which connect from our knob to the tranny kinda dislocate... and the mechanics there were like "so.. funny wan~~?"

But now, the gear is kinda 'raped'... It just don't feel like how it used to be... Real sad...
*
alam megah sc? where is it located? which state? is it a proton edar sc or eon sc?

hi AMT users, doing some survey here. tongue.gif

1. How old is your car and what is the mileage right now?

2. Normally which mode you guys prefer to use while driving your beloved car? Auto? Manual?

3. At what rpm you guys switch gear? (when upshift gears)

4. When driving using manual mode, during slowing down or taking corners that need to down shift gears, you guys manually do it or let the system down shift the gears by itself?

5. Have you guys encounter any problem with the AMT so far?

Cheers. rclxms.gif
