Since Savvy Lite doesn't comes with most of the important stuff... at least to me they are... would we void the 5yr warranty if we install things like alarm, power windows etc?

Yes, yes... i know, some of u may say if those things are important y not get urself the full spec Savvy. Well, some have low budget and there are others who like to install the preferred brands/items lor....
*
install those things should be void wiring warranty only... IMO, it's ok for savvy lite since it dun hv power window, wiring warranty is not reli important...

yesterday i made a record for my Savvy FC. RM50 can go 528km!! that's equal to 19km/L!  rclxm9.gif  thumbup.gif

i can get this figure becos of;

1. i lighten my foot (used to be heavy footer)  tongue.gif
2. 15% city the rest on plus highway
3. average speed 90km/h ( for the 1st time i drive really slow on highway. really torture me  shocking.gif

btw mine is AMT. clocked 70k KM alrdy
who's from JB here? may i know where's the best SC for Savvy in JB? got any place like RS auto in Puchong?
*

Credit to mr tobyboy from savoc.net for the picture of his car..

glad that the tyre didnt fly off during high speed.. so if got some not normal sound come from the back, please rush to nearest SC.. u never know when your wheel can detach one..

*mine also dint yet change.. already check with SC not yet change.. they have system that list car no plet that already change..
*
Thanks for teaching...
Guys, if u hear any sound or steering shaking pls come down and check ur car, my uncle's car from penang came over to my place during weekend, and someone planned to steal his rims, they loosen every nut for the wheels, and just left the wheels there, maybe guard or police pass by... then when my uncle drive back home, the whole car vibrate and lose control, luckily they manage to stop aside, and saw the wheels almost came off... imagine at highway speed, and the wheels came off... sweat.gif please check your car, especially u park outside nod.gif nod.gif

QUOTE(Mooshi @ Jun 15 2009, 10:47 AM)
That is not true friend. The weight of Myvi and Savvy is almost similar. And Myvi has better pick up than a Savvy. Anyway, for me i prefer Renault engine...my relative's BLM 1.3 Campro minum minyak only....about 8 to 9km/l....sweat.gif
*
For normal driving in town, stop and go, myvi is easier to drive, can pickup nicely at lower rpm compared to savvy, pickup at 2nd gear is also easier for myvi, the whole thing just feel so light~~ Savvy is kind of a highway thing... it doesn't vibrate as much as myvi, and it's stable at high speeds...

QUOTE(NOX @ Jun 15 2009, 12:40 PM)
bout weight maybe yes, bout pickup no.. if u rev savvy higher i mean to its power range 4000 rpm above then u know which car have more pickup.. cause savy using short ratio gear.. u can feel it, use 2nd gear also can go from still ma.. 20kmh still can use 3rd gear..

if i remember i already put a 10 sec 0-100meter video i think.. sorry if i'm wrong but savvy still good performance car interm of engine just that renault part expensive so many people out there considering buying myvi or viva cause of the engine..

my option there if put campro 1.3 to power savvy sure a lil bit better on bhp.. but sluggish on pickup n fuel consumption.. so its your choice, fun drive+fuel saving but expensive engine or normal drive+so so fuel +cheap engine?

*sorry to say but campro versus renault, sure all here said renault is more expensive if one of it component fail..
*
yeah i agree bout short gear ratio, i used to reach 5th gear when i'm doing 40km/h, and most of the time i use 5th gear, cuz 4th gear is too 'sensitive' to the pedal...

I still prefer renault D4f, if u let me choose between renault and campro... I don't think so I'll sacrifice performance for cheaper maintenance... and a proton made engine! sweat.gif
Heard campro got some crankshaft problem... it kinda break, if u use it for performance driving, like high rpm all the way... rclxm9.gif

13' sounds good with 185/60/13... and we have plenty of choices in tyres... 14' 165/60/14 only have hankook k406, and nct5... 15' got dunlop, nct 5, and silverstone evo 8 which has nice tread and sticky! ... in this case, 14' tyres have less choice compared to the othr 2...

NOX, wat do u mean not suitable? like... hitting the body? smile.gif

Today, I had lotsa fun driving my savvy!! reli love this car~~ rclxm9.gif

guys, do u face problem where when your car's engine running but is idle (maybe bcoz of red light stop or jam) your rpm is hovering over 1.5k rpm. i know it's not normal...
*
Sometimes... but when the car just started not long, like in a car park... should be the drive by wire 'sot' edy... does it happen to u often?

yes. nowadays it happens everyday and everytime i run the car. it will hovering 1.5k rpm but sometime later on it will come back to normal (around 0.9-1krpm). it's just that, everyday sure got like dat. i haven't had the time to check with proton sc though.  rclxub.gif
so the problem is with ecu is it? hmmm need to reset ecu at proton la like dis. huhuuu...
*
Wow.. reset ecu? means u have to train your ecu once over again? maybe ask them to check the wiring part for the pedal... tht's y i hate drive by wire... sluggish + problematic... mechanical linkage is always the best!

sure does..

for tdc = hard to start even after 5-10 time crank.. dirty sensor or connector.. just mod the connector.. cut of the old one n straight away use clips n solder it (DIY techky - send to RSauto in puchong rm30)..

for coil = stutter n not smooth ride.. can diy if just plug cable @ replace with iswara(plug cable head only - normally one cable prob).. savoc.net got how to do it..

for trottlebody = 2nd gear n 3rd gear jerk at low rpm.. just clean up the dirt with kerosene @ silicone grease spray also can.. open airbox, unscrew 4 screw then carefully clean up the carbon n oil sump inside the trottlebody..

thats some of problem for mt n amt..

amt = sudden change/gear stuck / indicator lite up.. protection system that stop @ jammed the system when the system overheat.. some said wiring, some said the accumulator diaphragm fail so the system got dirt n jammed.. talk to proton mechanic.. said that every 40000km must check the amt pump n robotic.. just that they lazy(this is why it doesnt appear in the manual book) to open n check it.. haha..
*
Tht's a really good info... today evening i had my 1st time in my life '2nd gear low rpm jerking'... kinda feel excited pulak~ rclxm9.gif
means my tb is dirty.. can i clean it by revving? dirty tb won't lead to anything else rite?
But i saw ppl saying tht 2nd gear jerking is because of tdc sensor also?

QUOTE(Xelia @ Jun 18 2009, 08:53 PM)
my god... wic mean i will end up the same problem no matter MT / AMT i choose...?
if diy the tdc sensor to clip & solder, will surely solve the tdc sensor prob?
coz im thnkng to get 1 savvy...but sounds many prob, i had drive my college's savvy, very nice...  i realy hate whn own car is die sudently at trafic light! kindly advice..

Added on June 18, 2009, 9:02 pm

icic... buy mt/amt is da same... both got dis prob. haha...looks like need to prepare all those sensor for future & future & future.... shakehead.gif  thn will need to thnk again...
*
die at traffic light is for amt only rite? when they don't put to neutral and pull the handbrake, instead they hold the foot brake which is heating up the robotic thingy... MT doesn't stall at traffic light right? icon_question.gif

QUOTE(Xelia @ Jun 18 2009, 09:32 PM)
promotion..?? izzit? will ask! me at sarawak de... thnk to get the lite 1. actualy neo and savvy is my choice, but thnk of fuel cost, i gues savvy is fuel cost saver..
*
Savvy is not really fuel cost saver... it helps, but ur right foot is the best fuel cost saver... haha, like mine, i don't think so my savvy is fuel saver... kinda get the same mileage as my dad's camry 2.0

QUOTE(dantck @ Jun 18 2009, 10:33 PM)
lol means u r not sure la .
can any1 confirm change new sensor type ,can solve it once and forever.
*
forever? even some couples don't stay together forever... and u want tht poor little sensor to stay good forever? brows.gif
Just kidding... why not try it out? where do u stay? why not pay a visit to rs auto?

QUOTE(death_nite @ Jun 18 2009, 11:00 PM)
NOX,

sorry. actually, its gearbox speed sensor. can refer here: http://savoc.net/v2/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4791
as long as u take manual. should b no worries. cos y? all those engine sensor probs can b fix DIY cheaply if u go chk savoc.net forum.  smile.gif the only big probs that cannot be fix DIY cheaply is the AMT transmission. sweat.gif

if ur car suddenly die at traffic means ur sensor very dirty one. if u failed to spot smthing wrong with ur car, u should b failed to be savvy owners. hehe. all those dirty sensor come with symptom or warning.

its not like ur car suddenly die at traffic. there's pre warning symptom that u need to identify. once u know, check the sensor. for sure no probs when driving. smile.gif

for my case, sometime i can't start my engine after 5mins i shut down the engine. thats means ur tdc sensor starting to get dirty. better clean it up.

if hard to start in morning; or cold start. better check ur ignition coil.
well. hehe. im not sure. tongue.gif im using the new tdc sensor. change under warranty. so far still good. tongue.gif
*
oh.. so u start the car after 5 mins u turned off the car.. to check the tdc sensor? Mt also will stall if tdc dirty?

ya that's true. the reason i couldn't start my car the past few days and suddenly engine died is because of spoilt tdc sensor. so yesterday i brought my car to proton to fix. cost me rm320 for the new sensor. aiyooo. in the last 2 years, i had changed one already but that time it's under warranty. this is the 2nd time already
*
wow... so expensive... new type 1? cleaning it should be enuff... it's just dirty, if i'm not mistaken
anyway, mine is going to service next friday... gonna complain about jerking problem, and hope they chg the tdc for me... do we hv to tell them to chg it? i'm going to proton CoE btw...

QUOTE(JusTea @ Jun 19 2009, 03:34 PM)
Anybody knows how to remove the back proton logo? My fren's 4yrs old Savvy's logo already discoloured/washed out and he wants to replace it with newer -- probably the black and silver -- version.

Is the original just a sticker or screwed to the bonnet?
*
just stick a carbon fiber sticker on it... looks cool if it's a black car... seen it on a neo

haihyo read savvy forum everywhere until today still dont have any solution for smooth gear shifting in AMT. Always got loss in power during gear changing and when go up slope sometimes one big jerk for you which scares all your car passengers lol

I want to solve this also, everytime pump petrol like kena poison.. must open window 15 minutes sleep.gif

got got... i heard use good renault gear oil... and change it often, even the book didn't say so...
just thru my observations in various forums, i'm mt driver, so didn't reli hv actual experience... smile.gif

I once oso fed up this car la .
standstill 1st gear ,
to 2nd gear.

but after change muffler much smoother.

I really love my car,
an d my imitation r3 spoiler really complete the butt.
with a special number .

I m proud of it .

but due to the instalment i gt headache,
wat a relieve if i one time seettle the car instalment lol.

i barely can save any money without working shift.

but once i eat her , i must responsible.
*
can i see ur spoiler? savvy's rear is really unacceptable without spoiler... from side looks like kura-kura... rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(Matrix @ Jun 26 2009, 10:15 AM)
I really like the Renault logo. You guys know where can buy one (a real emblem logo, not sticker)? Proton logo is so crappy..

Added on June 26, 2009, 10:21 am

That's why i skipped the AMT version an go for the Manual, eventhough i like the AMT very much. I know the cost and headaches of solving AMT problem will be a nightmare. So far, quite happy with my Savvy. But now i think the suspension is a bit used, last time when go over bumpy road quite steady, but now seems a bit louder/bumpier, but still better than my Myvi. Maybe ask technician to check on coming service.

What do you guys think? How to make the suspension not so bumpy? What do you call this? Hard or soft suspension?
*
try to check the absorber? soften for comfort, harden for 'comfort' going thru cornering~ brows.gif

Added on June 26, 2009, 4:59 pmUpdate for my 6k service total RM114.60
semi syn. oil syntium 800 rm101
oil filter and sealing ring rm13.6
(how bout air filter?)

Check 2nd gear jerk when engaged
-readjusted clutch cable
(weird... nth abt tdc?)
(but no more sound when i press the clutch... i think they wd40 it~.~)

and i saw a satria neo 'desire' full of momo stuffs... including cabon fibre exhaust tip... with white seats and full white interior... really nice~~

hi guys,

when you guys turning your savvy, not normal cornering, it is like turn the steering wheel till the end, for example making 180 degrees turn, or making 360 degrees circle, etc.

Will you hear some small and minor "tuk tuk tuk" sound coming from the front wheels? is it normal?
*
bearing or driveshaft? my mum always advise me not to turn the steering to the max... be gentle not to fight with the steering, don't always full turn with the brakes on...

today very slippery. a bit adventurous on over steering at curve and almost hit the sides. luckily can turn back.

now i know how it feel to slide

Just a question. Do you guys find ur front tyres cepat botak??

Mine is about 21,000 km (overdue for service, maybe this week i go), but the front tyre's seems quite used compared to the rear.

I thnk my Myvi which clocked over 35,000 km is not so bald (but maybe because the tyre size is different lar.).

Anyway, my alignment seems to run off a bit now, will need to do wheel alignment comes the service.

I'm planning to change the front tyre's to the rear and vice-versa. Do you guys do it at 20,000km???
*
tyre rotation should be done at every 10,000km... and it's normal for fwd that the front tyres used up more than the rear.. the front tyres have to drive, steer, and brake...

And I realize our rear tyres have negative camber setting~
