The usual ones we see are grey with black. Are they called Black beauties? Anyway, those are really cute already.  hmm.gif I haven't seen any other color in Malayisa.

limie, you better think carefully before you get one. Hehe...
*
We got alot of normal greys and black beauties, a few white tips. Keera is suppose to be a butter cream.... but I have no idea true or not LOL. The shades of grey varies. I think we shouldn't worry about the colour.... if we like them as pets, colour shouldn't be something to worry about. I was attracted to Keera.... well.... I don't think it was her colour, more like her unique face and ears.... love at 1st sight tongue.gif

QUOTE(White Palace @ Jul 6 2008, 04:09 PM)
Congrats! I'm awaiting to see them too if i have a chance~
*
Sure sure. Later will post pics once they are OOP.

=========================================================================

Wondering where to find camera... LOL.... need to take pics of Bubba, he has grown so much and put on a nice amount of weight. I expect him to be 60g when 8 weeks OOP.

Anyway, I already updated my blog, in case anyone was wondering why no updates LOL.

A glider won't sit still on you when in front of a PC. My gliders would jump away to explore my room. They only sit still if we move around or are in an unfamiliar place.

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Jul 7 2008, 12:06 AM)
Moka loves mealworms so much that she had about 10 today. Luna is much more difficult. Even if I have it coated with yogurt, she wont eat it. Moka finish most of it. She jumped onto my hand and run right into the bowl for a feast.

I know we should not feed corn but if given once a week or once a fortnight, how many can I give them?
*
Luna still don't fancy mealworms? LOL... then I think you should give crickets a try..... but crickets harder to keep and they smell worst.....

Corn, you can give a few niblets(4 or 5) once a week but make sure you pair it up with something high in calcium like papaya or yogurt. This is coz you have to balance out the Phosphorus level with calcium level.

*
He looks adorable with a mischievous face.

The bird toys are safe, the colouring is a vegetable base dye, like food colouring. It is safe for animals.

QUOTE(spel'it @ Jul 7 2008, 09:00 AM)
What if she gives him piggy ride? Well actually he was piggy riding her. I tried to separate them. Damn Hard one.  sweat.gif
But lastly able to. I keep CK in the cage, and KC roaming around the room. But CK still eyeing KC with sum mischevious look.  blink.gif  And he crabbed at me that nite! Naughty him.

Wah.... piggy back, sign of wanna mate lo.... coz you can already see his bald spot, means he is close to sexual maturity. Keep an eye..... How old is KC ah?

QUOTE(mamata @ Jul 7 2008, 01:52 PM)
the mating period
only the male will piggy ride or female tend to chase the male?
*
Oh.... I thought what aggression.

The male would chase the female, to smell her butt and also to piggy back on her.... actually, is not really piggy back, is really mating style.

user posted image
Photo example from http://www.petsugargliders.com - Jennifer Bender

The males would chase the female to smell if she is on heat or not. He would then start to scent mark her and sometimes groom.... then mount on her like piggyback. Some females are scared or not ready, so they would run away or protect themselves with hisses, crabs and defensive pose.... but normally it doesn't really work coz the male would still mate.

She chase coz she wants to play with her new friend lah. LOL.

QUOTE(aurion @ Jul 7 2008, 03:22 PM)
I saw a very underaged joey at Lowyat Plaza. Someone playing with it. It's even smaller sized with those found in Pet Safari. Tail only 3 quarters of the tail covered with fur, the part where it joins the body, tiada fur, langsung botak. Body size can say slightly bigger than those roborovsky dwarf hamsters.
*
So small? Pity..... alot of suppliers do like to sell joeys that small because, again, there is the fragile and vulnerable look, the baby look.... people's heart also cannot tahan.... that is why we must educate people about glider age.

QUOTE(bonai @ Jul 7 2008, 04:22 PM)
This is a rejected joey...
Under bonai's care for the moment..

user posted image

See how the parents attacked the joey...
So guys please, if you do not know how to breed, don't plan to..
Do your research first.. it's not just putting a male & female together..
Not all cases everything goes well..
So when this happens, it's just a heartbreaking scene..

If you don't plan to breed, neuter!!!!
*
Whoa.... rejected at that age...

Yah, not every breeding is perfect.

QUOTE(mamata @ Jul 7 2008, 05:35 PM)
they reject is becoz of?
maybe got some problem with the joey ,that why the parent reject it

QUOTE(limie @ Jul 8 2008, 09:18 AM)
hm... after i read your thread, just found out that is it not easy to breed...
1st i thought put male n female together... then settle...
haiz... cry.gif  sad to hear that...
and really wanted to cry of that picture. cry.gif
*
Every animal is not easy to breed. There are always consequences, drawbacks and sad times. Many just don't understand coz either head too busy with money or just plain excited till never think of the health or death....

QUOTE(aurion @ Jul 8 2008, 09:30 AM)
Well I would have to say owner as Lowyat Plaza don't have pet shops there. Yes just the body itself slightly larger than those roborovsky and the tail 1quarter of it is totally botak. They keep taking photo using flash on the poor thing.
*
Poor thing.... that young means maybe just open eyes, with flash, it would hurt the retinas.

Anyway, you can use flash on animals, just make sure you do not use too often at 1 time. I use flash, as it is found to be safe if we use it a few times. If we take like 20 pics without stopping the flash, then it can make the animal a bit dizzy.

QUOTE(mikozai @ Jul 8 2008, 09:52 AM)
why hor...these few days i saw my cindy is like to stay inside the pouch or inside the terowong de ? she dun like to come out..but when i go there, she will pop her head up..if i put my hand in she only will jump to me....if not hor, she just sit inside and dun come out..only casper gila gila walking around in the cage....why ar ?
if midnight i dont know...cos i saw them around 10pm-11pm litat....they wake up by tat time and 7am++....y leh ?
*
Each glider is different mah. She may not be a nosy and adventurous as Casper.... and gliders like to come out when no one is around so she could have been roaming about when you already asleep.

QUOTE(bonai @ Jul 8 2008, 11:12 AM)
Keeping pets and breeding are two different things..
And the proper care for them is different too..
The info is not available on the 1st page coz i guess TS does not encourage owner to breed unneccessarily..
So if anyone who plan to breed, please get in touch with those reliable breeders first and get some info..

Anyway, this poor joey is not from my breeding pairs and in this case it's something like rejected by a young mom..
I'll update on how she's doing and damn i'll post the pic of her cage soon.. so damn great cage!!!
*
Firstly, yes lah, to discourage breeding for newbies.... but also, I haven't really come up with a breeding article for the 1st page.

Joey rejected by young mom, a common reason that I have read. Pity the joey. Luckily you dapat rescue it. I have heard so much stories about glider either cannibalize their joeys at that age or just ignore till starvation....

QUOTE(hazzy @ Jul 8 2008, 12:45 PM)
update on my joey,
last night i tried to put some sawi, apple & sweet pear.
shakehead.gif  she only eat the sawi, luckily she eat it.
sweat.gif  phewwww, i tot she wont eat any fresh foods
rolleyes.gif  haih! very choosy.

do u guys have any idea what else should i try for my joey?
ive tried watermelon, apple, pear, lai, honeydew, papaya, sweet mango
but none is working doh.gif
show us show us! tsk tsk tsk.  shakehead.gif
*
Try this method.... stop slurp for 1 day. Only offer fruits. No mealworms too. I am sure she would have to eat the fruits.

QUOTE(chickenducksoup @ Jul 8 2008, 02:31 PM)
hi i new to this Sugar Gliders
if i just brought,then i take him out,will him run away ?
*
Do not expect a joey to stay still like a doll or sleep in your shirt pocket all the time. Gliders are curious animals, they would of course explore when given an opportunity. So if your glider or joey is not bonded to you, it would most likely jump away to either explore or hide away from you. Read up on bonding and read the 1st page please.

If the joey would just sleep curled in your hand, and never want to jump away, just cling to your hand, then that joey is probably underage.

QUOTE(sharil_routh @ Jul 8 2008, 09:17 PM)
Yes , i'm damn happy....
thanks to u and Hun coz both of u, i got dis notty gal... tongue.gif

I hope in future if i want to get another one, i hope get just like Gizmo.  blush.gif , i dont care she's notty like Gizmo, if got la.... tongue.gif
She makes my life complete even she making me chasing around in room and always in mood, laugh.gif
Everyday she always got free roam about 4- 5 hours, i dont know when she will tired. sweat.gif
*
Hahahah.... for me, without dogs, my life is never complete.... but without gliders in my life, I would feel empty.... now with all my gliders, I damn syiok everynight playing with them hahahah.

QUOTE(jitshiong @ Jul 8 2008, 09:33 PM)
Every glider is different, all my 5 gliders have different temperament.
So far the most active is from Quincy (Gizmo@Celestial & Cassie's mom)
Even quincy is active but not as active as they are, probably cos her joeys are more familiar with human.
My oldest one just sits around, dozing off all the time.
Let me know when u wanna get one, I'll help u get a good one.

U let her roam for 4-5 hours?
U dun sleep ka?

How is Dexter doing? Still naughty?

QUOTE(Jamien @ Jul 8 2008, 10:34 PM)
Eh? How how? I wanna know (just for knowledge). Now wake it up slightly earlier everyday?

Won't squash I think... Otherwise she will crab loud loud and Sharil will terjaga and go like "OMG Gizmo!!! Sorry!!!".  biggrin.gif
*
Gliders can adapt to us. I mean, don't go training a glider to be active during the day and sleep at night like us lah, that is wrong. You can actually wake your glider up during the evening to play. I don't really have a fixed time to play with my gliders. I just wake them up if I want to handle them LOL. But feedings are all fixed. Day time feeding not so fix.... normally feeding of mealworms and some kibble is around 6am to 9am coz it depends on my day LOL. At night usually around 12 I start to prepare their food. Alot of bowls.... I have to prepare 10 bowls for 10 gliders LOL.

An update on Bubba. Today he is 52g.... how old? 48 days old. He is on the right weight track. Anyway, this is the first time I am keeping a close record of photos and weight, all for my research on joey growth.

Hahaah... if I breed donkey ears, can only breed her next year. Firstly, my also find a partner for her that has that same donkey ears LOL. Bubba will be going to Sara and TJ on the 26 of July, kena postpone loh hahah.

OMG... people people.... I was browsing Pet Lovers forum.... and 1 guy did the silliest mistake.... buying on Impulse without knowing the consequences....

He wanted a glider but everywhere joey seemed too expensive for him. So a petshop told him that they can help get him RM160 for a pair but he must pay first so that they can get it for him in the next few days. The crazy thing is this newbie that has no clue about gliders really paid RM160 hoping that his dream of getting a glider comes true. He didn't know he actually paid for wild adult gliders.

Don't you think this guy made a mistake? 1st he pays for something he doesn't know.... 2nd is he got no clue that he is getting wild adults..... and now he is asking is it true that adults are hard to tame...... It's so depressing to see people make this kind of mistake just because they couldn't afford to save up their money to purchase a properly bred joey.

I wonder what would happen to the adults after his purchase... I don't think he would be able to handle them if they escaped from their cage or has to do cage cleaning.

aiyah wrong timing, around 3-7 am la approx. ill play with him usually around 11-12 pm.. then he'll eat and sleep for awhile.. then play.. then nap.. then play again.

Haahah...3am to 7am sounds better lah. I thought whole day play till never sleep. Ok, then his routine is pretty normal.

About running the wheel, it is good exercise so there is no need to worry. Stoney looks wonderful and healthy. smile.gif

I use digital scale... pricey if you get from Cosway if you are not a member or have any friends who are members. It's about Rm50 with a member's voucher.... but about Rm100 plus for non-members.... Or you can try ebay or lelong.com but alot do not do CODs but bank-ins and postage..... Ikea has digital kitchen scales but about Rm100 plus each.

Rm160 a pair is wild adult lah.... tame? Super hard to tame if you are a newbie to gliders. Why buy so early? Also, not every adult is healthy coz wild gliders are very stressed up and eat low quality food, means the lifespan also shorten.

Please visit my blog

Cages, bonding, joeys, cheap adult gliders, all information is listed there.

I can honestly say this, you won't really experience the same thing. Joeys that are bred properly are easier to care for and have good dispositions.... wild gliders, won't be affectionate unless you tahan all the bites and blood. Adult gliders bite sakit gila till bleed.

Can you imagine he nak guna hamster cage for gliders...... teruk teruk..... I doubt his dad would build him a large cage if his dad is busy with his pet birds......

Anyway, today another sad sight.....

I went to Brickfield's petshop.... saw the worker using hair dryer to dry the gliders. The gliders were all wet.... I asked why he use hair dryer.... he said he mandikan them and was suppose to sun them but it started to rain so he hair dry them...... can you imagine the stress? The gliders were super duper stressed up.

Then I saw small cages with coconuts, then I ask, are those for breeding? He said they use small cages to separate the female that is pregnant..... and there got some joeys inside, he said will be ready soon. Sigh......

Then I headed to the stall that is at KL Sentral's outdoor bazaar that is connected to Monorail.... there got extremely small joeys, they got nothing to hide in but a hanging food container, all masuk in and cramp gila. I think there were more than 10 underage joeys.... they are as small as a small dwarf hamster, Bubba looks 2 times bigger than any of the joeys.... from their tails, they are roughly 4 weeks OOP only.... selling for RM300.... but so sickly....

eh just add new one?

btw went to the kl sentral outdoor few days ago and i see just 1 joey left
and dozen of chpmunk ,what are their purpose in open the stall there?

that what kids are, whaddya expect more
breed to be rich
*
Ye ke? Wah.... so fast get stock.... people were like "Wah, so cute. Nak beli ke tak?" Sigh.... and yah, alot of chipmunks, very cheap loh. Rm200 for a pair but their health.... dunno healthy or not.

Last time the bazaar there open coz of Deepavali and when Hari Raya Puasa.... then now become permanent. After the bazaar become permanent, this stall set up sell pets big time. Last time jual je ikan laga, green RES terrapins and hamster.... sekarang banyak exotic..... sigh.... they used to have Guinea pigs too but I only saw rabbits to day.

I think why they sell pets there is coz rental is super cheap compared to a real shop..... that is why they can put the price low.

QUOTE(Jamien @ Jul 9 2008, 08:30 PM)
It's so sad... The stupid guy and the situation of the poor sgs... But we see it everywhere now. Some 20 gliders stuck in a bird cage or a slightly taller hamster cage... the stupid fella shouldn't buy suggies before he get them AT LEAST a cage. So irresponsible...

Sometimes I feel like telling the people saying "so cute" that the suggies are so underage, don't buy! Bt I'm inside the shop and if I say I scared the owner will do something bad to me. Sigh...
*
Sigh.... alot of people get on impulse.... I really wanna slap that kid to wake him up..... dunno jadi or not. I just replied, a bit harsh I think.....

Jamien, I did that once.... there is this petshop near my place call AD.... they had this tiny tiny 3 week OOP joey in a super tiny carrier hamster cage with shredded newspaper. Then 1 customer ask, "Senang jaga tak?" and the shop owner said "ya, senang je. Glider ini suka orang, tak akan lompat lompat, manja macam baby."
Then the customer was super interested and held it.... then the shop keeper continued "Makan anggur sahaja. Tak boleh makan apa apa lagi"

I was like ... WHAT???? shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

Then I said in a polite manner:
"Sugar glider tak boleh makan anggur, tak sihat, boleh sakit. Kena makan banyak jenis buah, makan cengkerik and ulat dan bila besar ia kena ada sangkar yang besar seperti sangkar kucing 3 tingkat..."

The customer was like "Ye ke? Wah, macam susah, tak mau lah"

Then the shop owner looked at me with knives in his eyes.... I quickly paid for my plastic bowls and exited LOL.

*
Means Sasa more dominant loh..... BenBen very timid, so he let SaSa take the lead. This is common, I also got 1 pair like that. Naya is so fat and good looking while her mate, Pama is thinner. Naya don't snatch food from Pama, is more like Pama let Naya eat first, then only he will eat the scraps later. No matter how much food I put in, Pama would always stay slim while Naya is always fatter.

I would've replied more "kejam" than you...

Tell him big cages are available widely lah nowadays, all he needs to do is look for it.

If he wants to keep in a hamster cage, ask him to go buy hamster lar!

I pray that the wild suggies attack him to death or atleast make him trauma of suggies for the rest of his life! Stupid kid!
What!!! Hair dryer the gliders??? Super idiot fool! Can burn the glider to death!

Haizzz...

Somehow I never found the stall at the monorail crossover tu... I didn't really stop and search for it lah, but everytime I walk by, sure I will look around, but never seem to spot it... :

Makan anggur jer??? Ask the seller, if you feed him anggur jer every single day, best tak??

Another a$$hole!

Lucky you told the person what you said... Don't care about the seller, just say out what you know is right!

If at any time a seller scold you or anything, just tell them you can have him/her reported to the authority for animal cruelty...

What have become of the world today... mad.gif
Their fur is the last thing to worry about, cuz the first thing that will burn is their super thin ears skin...
Hawwor suiteng! :hello:

I guess Sasa is starting to show dominance... Over what, not sure... But it does happen...

Most suggies don't even wanna go close to super worms, what more eat them. Many forumers had to dump the super worms in the end.

You can try, but if they don't eat it, don't tell us we have not warned you.

You tak pernah pergi? Must go and see.... the sight of the joeys.... depressing gila.

Anyway, the Brickfield's petshop don't have good staff.... I think they are foreign workers and just do what their boss tell them.... but the hair dryer thing was plain stupid.

Yup, yup, yup...

But I malas nak basuh the kain hanging on the cage often... I'm thinking of trying Nippon Spot-Less very soon!

Wahaha

If you don't wanna use kain, can always use MahJong paper.... is thin, light and easily available, I think 1 large piece is like 50 sen?

QUOTE(mikozai @ Jul 10 2008, 02:59 PM)
if the mealworms dowan liao....throw where ? LOL...
dig a hole at my garden and tanam them ?
haha...juz kd...i tot big mealworms is more good den mealworms tim
*
Not every glider like super worms loh..... but if you buy and they do not eat, then just throw in your garden, birds will eat them. For superworms, you must crush the head so that the worm won't bite back your glider.

QUOTE(krynzpeaches @ Jul 10 2008, 03:06 PM)
But this method is hard. You missed look one time or by the time you found them piggy back riding the mating has been successful, you'll gonna end up with joeys 16 days later...
Sunat is NOT neuter.

Neuter is NOT sunat.

Don't misconcept.
That is SOOO SAD!

Breeding is NOT easy! Who the hell in the world thinks breeding is easy is actually plain brainless.

No matter what animal or even human, breeding is NOT easy!

It's not "if don't plant to breed, neuter..."

If you don't plan to breed PROPERLY AND UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE RIGHTS AND ABOUT BREEDING - NEUTER OR KEEP SAME SEX PAIRING.

Haizzz...

I hope the joey can be saved...

Hun, I think it's high time to add in the 1st page a caution about breeding gliders... Mebbe something like, "Breeding is NOT easy and NOT encouraged without proper knowledge and experience." "We strongly recommend same sex pairing or neutering the male for pet keeping."

Ok, noted. I'll come up with something.

bahah!! my Mika-chan finally eat her fruits
what i did is, Meal Worm & GilderSLURP for Breakfast/Lunch.
and only Fruits & Vege for dinner
(but I wonder why she keep hissing when i give her nothing except Fruits last night)
some more she very very very very active last night jump here and there
*
Yah, most of us do that. Feed mealworms and slurp for 1 meal, next meal of the day feed veggies and fruits....

Hissing.... does she pee or poo during the hissing? Sometimes hissing, depending on the tone, is like calling over to you.....

QUOTE(nafham @ Jul 10 2008, 08:32 PM)
Hello guys. Im new here.  I just buy 1pair of SG today after i do research about it for 1week. I start fall in love to it after i read this thread. Aiyoh. Such as big influent lor.  .Anyway, recently i hve 1pair of budgie, 9 disscuss, 4 angel fish, 3 gold fish n 2 arowana. So bcos i hve oredi fish n bird, now i want try SG as my next pet.    I buy it at bazaar between KL Sentral n Monorail. 1st i go look at Bandar Tasik Selatan, wah...sooo bloody xpensive. RM350 for 1 baby SG. Sigh!! :  Then i try look at that bazaar, RM300 per each. Aiyoh, y so expensive lor. Just bcos im very2 fall in love to them  , so i bought it for 1pair = RM600. I gve name Gucci for male n Nanny for female. Seller said they just 3-4month yo. Still small but not small like at Bandar Tasik Selatan. Gucci n Nanny is oredi tame    . Wah, so i dun hve too much work to do with them since they oredi tame n can play on my body oredi. Just some time they seem like scare n worry  . Now they sleeping. Still sleep in small container just for a while n will move them to big bird cage very soon after i cleaning it. When i think back, wah, i used money soo much today for buy it but when i look at them , thats feeling is gone biggrin.gif  . expecially when they look at me like the cat in shrek movie. so cute n shining eyes. can someone teach me how to put pics here? so i can show to u guys about my Gucci n Nanny.  thumbup.gif

KL Sentral's pet stall sell RM300, yes, cheaper than most shops but damn bloody small. Tame? No.... they are not tame.... they are just underage till dunno how to fight back. All they can do is stone or crab to defend themselves coz so small. The sellers there all no knowledge, they are just selling plainly to earn a living. If you can spend RM300, why never spend RM300 to support a proper breeder? Why let such unethical sellers earn RM300 and sell you underage joeys?

You may defend yourself about the joeys, but I do go and see those joeys sold once a while and being a breeder, I can tell their age just by seeing their size and tail.....

You better post a pic so we can determine the age. Why? Coz it is important for us to know, see if it still needs milk or not. If you do not provide proper food, it can die young..... young means not in a few months but it means it may never live up to 10 or 12 years.... maybe 2 years then become sick? Calcium deficiency? We are not bullshitting in this forum ok.... we got the experience and also knowledge from researching and keeping gliders for a few years...... Research for a week is not enough to know everything.

QUOTE(shakeera @ Jul 10 2008, 10:03 PM)
yup..totally agree with hun..i managed to snap a picture of those joeys..
later i'll post it..
so sad..
*
Ah, my pics out of focus.... hope you will post soon.

It is a sad sight.... so small, makan apple.... they won't get any nutrition.... Even Dr Jenny said, gliders on a diet of mainly apples can get bone and joint problems.....

And from my experience, I have heard gliders dying from eating apples only.

QUOTE(bonai @ Jul 10 2008, 10:14 PM)
PM me and I'll teach how to post pictures..
Do you know how to PM?
It's actually good to teach people what to do if they end up buying underage joeys, but then we'll encourage people to buy those.. so best is to keep it ourselves rather than sharing.. I went there quite a while but didn't see any joeys.. huh..
*
Yes, it is good to teach them if they terbeli.... but if we teach them to nurse and care so they can buy 1 underage joey to experience the nursing and caring, then that is very susah loh.....

You should have gone yesterday.... tiny and kesian.... some wet looking.... 1 was terribly hungry, trying to eat the apple. Poor thing....

QUOTE(jitshiong @ Jul 10 2008, 10:26 PM)
Dunno how many underaged joeys are around in the market now.
I can see theem everywhere.
I just went to 2 petshops in pg n each of them have at least 10 unnderaged joeys.
N they all looked sickly...
Tail also not fluffly yet.
They are all soaked...such a sad sight
*
Alot... coz of the demand.... even in LYN here one member is a supplier, he is letting go of joeys at 3 to 4 weeks OOP so that people can nurse them to tame them.... rubbish man.... pure evil.... just think of money.

QUOTE(aurion @ Jul 10 2008, 10:33 PM)
It sure is sad to see these innocent creatures having to suffer that way, which they do not deserve. Furthermore, SPCA here cannot do anything like what they can in the States
*
Here, only we can help.... which is we must educate people to stop supporting such sellers....

=========================================================================

If you guys really no choice, like desperately want a joey.... then try looking at petshops that sells proper age joeys. I have been to Petaling Street.... there is a petshop that sells all sorts of animals but they do not have a sign board.... kinda old shop. His joeys are 8 weeks OOP but be warned.... they are not easy to handle as the shop doesn't handle them.

I don't really encourage people to get from such shops but then when I see people plainly buying underage joeys, it just makes me sad to see people falling for the "cute" trap.....

Now that's a better picture than mine.

Yups, those are underage... bought 4 weeks OOP only and they got smaller bodies than properly bred joeys coz they got separated from their mom too early.

If put Bubba next to those joeys, Bubba is 2 times bigger loh.....

Yesterday when handfeeding mealies, Teddy got very rakus lah. He quickkly attacks the mealworms, missed, and puncture my fingers instead... sweat.gif

Usually when he missed his aim, never till my finger bleed. Haha~

Maybe Teddy too excited lah.... sometimes it happens. This happens with Kapi.... so when I feed mealworms to her, I always use forceps. Keera is a good girl heheheh.... Oh, she got her pic taken in this month's Petster mag.

QUOTE(onezkatana @ Jul 11 2008, 10:33 AM)
why not we all print infomation about SG and give to pet shop that sell underage joey.?
boleh jalan ker kalau buat camtu?

Alot of petshops would turn away.... but it can be done. We have to make friends with the petshop to see if they would take our advice.

But I strongly believe if we stop buying underage joeys, then we won't experience dead joeys in our hands but the petshop would... then it would make them lose money and they would stop taking joeys.

This REALLY happen to a petshop near my house..... since all her joeys died before being sold, she has stopped selling. So we should try our best to educate as many people as we can about underage joeys. If we see someone about to purchase, pull him or her away politely saying that you wanna speak to them in private outside the shop.... then explain to him or her about the consequences..... I did that a few times and it works too.

An update on BoBo:

Last night when I was feeding BoBo, I notice that he was continuously licking his anus alot and hissing often.... I actually saw him doing this 3 days ago but he didn't do for long and just ate and slept normally but yesterday night he did it for some time. I took a torch light and checked him..... and it gave me a scare!!!!

BoBo was licking and chewing his anus! Luckily I could get hold of Dr Jenny, today she came and took him for treatment. He is stable now but will be under Dr Jenny's care for a few days. Luckily he did not chew off his anus but it was the skin around the side that he chewed off. Now his butt is red and raw but thankfully no prolapse.

What caused it? We came up with a few reasons:

1. Stress from leaving 1 home to another.
2. Could be constipation so he was licking, trying to get harden poop out.
3. Could be a bacterial infection.

I already informed Eka about it. We were all so worried about BoBo but all is stable for now.

Just so thankful that there is such a caring vet like Dr Jenny around.

Oh yes, another tip from Dr Jenny.

If your glider is having any injuries like a bite or swollen wound, apply papaya as it is a natural anti-inflammatory that helps bring the swelling down and can promote natural healing.
