Anyways, i'm from the engineering campus as well. From my time here, I can tell you that its pretty safe. Everyone here is pretty civilized and nice.

As for entertainment, the hostels provide internet service but don't expect high speed state of the art stuff. (heard they're still upgrading. Who knows?)
There's also a (underground) sharing community within its students, so I don't think there's a problem catching up with your weekly fix of 91210,Gossip Girl, Smallville KDramas etc etc, and there's also a lot of neat stuff people are sharing like games and music to cure whatever boredom u have.

Butterworth isnt too far at all but Parit Buntar has nothing.

Lecturers are okay i guess. Some are cool some are crap. But be advised, since USM has its Apex status on its shoulders, its gonna be tough. Tougher than what it already is lol. Not trying to scare you guys or anything.

I guess that's it really. I don't know much about the other campuses but USM's main campus is HUGE, so whoever goes there will most likely need to use their own vehicles or use the commuters which are provided by the university. For us in engineering, classes aren't too far away but still a bit tiring if your walking. Some people here use bikes. (I'm planning on using rollerblades. )

Btw,anyone taking Science Computing as me?Looks like not much ppl having the same course as me..and i got Restu as my desasiswa..looks quite good but very expensive...500-600 depending how many ppl staying in 1 room.Anyway who's going to determine how many ppl per room?And i gotta wake up very early..around 4 am on 27th as i live in Ipoh..gotta go earlier..

be grateful la 500 for 1 sem..lol..

i lived in restu for all 3 years. a good place just bit far from everything.
But you will have nice foods and no worry about groceries. We have a tiny shop selling all sort of things.
btw, rst canteen also have atm which is very handy to students at there.

welcome to usm and do tell me where you are so i can throw you into lake as orientation week activity.

just kidding, usm dont do this kind of things.

wat i know from the usm officer was tat USM has chosen n arranged readily for us which room n how many ppl we going to live with...he said tat new students usually stay as 4 per room...to me is tooooooo crowded from my past experience in matriks...haha....but maybe can chnage after the prientation week he said...

engineering campus normal room is 4 ppl and the room size is more than enough. dont worry.

4 ppl per room? Wow..but for Restu the fees written in the book only 2 ppl maximum wo..actually 2-3 ppl is good enough..1 per room is too big..meanwhile 4 per room will be very compact



Dunno happy anot..coz my 1st choice is Phamarcy and Com Science is my last..but i should be glad to get the offer..many ppl din get anything
