Anyone know where is the cheapest place/online/unofficial for GIAC training? Or other alternatives to get the course material or official books? Thinking of leasing the courseware from the professional GIAC. But, I didn't know anyone that are willing to lease their study material with an affordable rates .. sad.gif

USD 3,960 for a book and CD is too much ... it's about 10 times of my current allowances

To this date, I've already completed 16 certifications but I'm looking for more challenges and better credential ... CISSP is another options, but I'm interested with GIAC as it doesn't have any prerequisite

My interest right now are:

1) GISF - SEC301: Intro to Information Security
2) GSEC - SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style

Thank you

Too many EC-Council certified in this country ... even youngsters who are new in security can be certified .. lose it's value already due to the extensive commercialization laugh.gif

move towards server la bro .. with your certifications in hand, you should already in the enterprise server domain

In my current company, we had a Windows Support department, however their priority is to manage country-wide server, less to support desktop users brows.gif

Just passed my 17th certifications (CCSPA) last week, one of the hardest certification that I've ever had ... not because of the syllabus, but more towards dry and less humors of the text books contents. Very fast to feel sleepy after a few pages .. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

After work, spent 1-2 hours every night just to read a few pages. Fortunately, after 1 month and 1 week , I've managed to finished the text book and took the test. Fortunately, my second semester subjects quite related with the contents ... Enterprise Information Assurance and Information Engineering ... wub.gif

The exam quite direct, no scenario based but the answer taken directly from the book. Those who didn't read may have some problem when writing the exam.

My next target, Itil Foundation > Intermediate Itil > CISSP

But COBIT 5 and ISO 27001 LA looks good too ... drool.gif

Anyone know where to get any GIAC study kit contents with a fees? Perhaps the books can be rent for months

RM 10K each study kit is too expensive for me sad.gif ... to have 1 credential prior applying for the PhD in Security would be a bonus ... drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif
