QUOTE(Baronic @ Dec 15 2008, 12:54 AM) I'm not sure how much is the price your aunt can get so i cant comment if its cheaper. if the device is your aunt buys is labeled and packaged as HTC, u can get it repaired here, but must pay. cuz essentially no warranty. thanks bro ... thanks alot ... hehe .. just the first few steps into the pda world .. gotta research more ..thanks for the info !!BUT if its a HTC device, but labeled by the operator (such as Sprint, vodafone) SIS will NOT repair even if u pay them since considered illegal. no international warranties for HTC devices (or other pda branded devices as far as i know, maybe Ipaq, not sure) I recommend a Touch Diamond, with extended battery. Its the TOP choice, super powerhouse, can do heavy gaming, sweet VGA screen too. RM 2400 + RM 250 (this is my price, so since u wanted price, u quote my selling price) Alternatives would be HTC Tytn 2 and HTC Touch Cruise. Both fill in your specs, medium gaming, but in terms of entertainment power, less, due to the fact they dun have video drivers. see www.htcclassaction.org for info. and some more brand new (as u wanted) its price is not THAT much cheaper than diamond, but it IS cheaper. so your choice. i'd recommend go for diamond. Tytn 2 and Cruise is 2420, and 2390 respectively. Added on December 15, 2008, 12:59 am u can also look at the cheap Asus P320, about 1.2k and has GPS. i think even if u take out GPS, not much difference, cuz u want brand new lol. if u take out brand new and take out GPS, u can opt for a second hand Dopod 838pro. If you're lucky its less than 1k u can find. |

QUOTE(jazlynnyee @ Dec 16 2008, 03:12 PM) BUDGET RANGE: <2.5k actually, u've correctly assessed your needs and yes, diamond, cruise and tytn2 all fit your requirement. that said, they're all of similar pricing (if buy from me LOLZZZ), but the Diamond is better as an entertainment device and more powerful. i'd recommend going for Touch Diamond with Official Extended battery, totalled RM 2650. Its only a few hundred bucks more than the tytn2 and Touch cruise, but well worth it IMHO. Brand Preference if any: any Second hand: no... preferred new QWERTY keyboard: doesn't matter Keypad: Virtual / Hardware (most pda phones are virtual) GPS: Yes Bluetooth: Yes WIfi: Yes Frequent Overseas traveller to Japan and US? or other countries: no Camera Resolution minimum: 3mp Expandable Memory: doesn't matter 3G : Yes HSDPA or higher: doesn't matter Front Camera: Yes Gaming Type: light Screen Resolution: doesn't matter im a pda noob here. a frequent user of words, powerpoint, pdf, wanna keep some of my working doc inside. wifi is important as i write blogs and check mails quite often. need a decent camera as sometimes my job requires me to take pics. need a good pda to plan and remind me of events/meetings. i've done some readings and found out there are a few options from htc which fits my requirement: htc diamond, htc cruise, htc tytn2 hope u guys can give me suggestion as which pda suits me the best... thanks alot... HOWEVER, that said and done, the tytn2 and Touch Cruise are no push overs, and are quite adequate as well. seeing as u blog, and presumably u wanna do it with the PDA, i will say a QWERTy is a MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST. Smsing with a virtual keypad is fine, but once u start blogging and writing a lot, QWERTY is essential, take it from me. |

if compare between asus p320 and htc touch viva, i found several difference is specifications: 1. display size = htc larger 0.2" than asus - but wont matter much, right? 2. RAM and ROM size = htc is 1 times larger the sizes for both ram and rom - this will matter, right? 3. camera = asus has autofocus while htc don't. - er..kinda hard to say, right? 4. GPS = asus has, htc don't from what i can see, htc in the aspect of technology and design, its better than asus, however asus has the extra autofocus and gps thingy..so with the same price, which 1 more suitable ler?so subjective la..ofcoz we feel that gps is something new and will not feel bad to have one, but in terms of technology, the latter is not bad too.. how ar?if u were me, which 1 u choose?for sure if ur trying to buy the worthy one.not in terms of interest or brands la..in terms of "berbaloi" only. |

Its subjective. Depends on what u need. But i'd go for P320. The viva's processor is not strong enough to properly utilise the extra ram anyway.

You're right, for a powerhouse for heavy gaming, usually more than 2k. Since u dun wan qwerty, i recommend getting a Touch Diamond. Brand new RM 2400 original. Use it for a while, if u cannot tahan the battery (900mah), then buy an extended battery (1350 mah). Around 200+ so total 2.6k plus.
Or if u want qwerty, then can straight go for Touch Pro RM 2880. The battery is 1350 already, but because its qwerty, its bulkier and heavier. Fulfills all your specs |
