Well, there is an advantage for using a virtual keypad, although in my perspective I am losing 1 advantage as well by giving up the hardware keypad. The new advantage is of course bigger screen.

Is it still possible to type with a single hand using the virtual keypad?

i've been using Virtual Keypad, ever since i tried it. and yes, i type with one hand, even while driving (BUT I DO NOT ADVISE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!). again, u got to get used to it if you're not looking at the screen, but its nice cuz its big, but ever since using the virtual, i find that my fingers can no longer sms using the small keypad of any other phones lol

Well, if that being the recommendation, I shall give it a try. Hence, my options are now much wider. What would fit my requirement? Thanks.

still in HTC category, u can opt for the cheap option, HTC Touch. U can also see second hand Dopod D810 or the older better brother, the HTC P3600i. Since u have some gaming needs, i recommend the HTC P3600i

After the advice I got, I would like to revise my requirements:

BUDGET RANGE: RM1500 or below

**************
1st Priority:

Brand Preference if any: Any brand with available repair and service outlets in Klang valley. Prefer those that is legitimate instead of self-declare 3rd parties.

Wifi: YES

Camera Resolution minimum: 3.0MP (prefer with flash) I take a lot of pictures at customer's site/location.

Expandable Memory: Yes (prefer microSD)

Screen Resolution:
If can get better resolution of course better, like Eten X650 (480x640).
But I would say screen SIZE is more important for me. The bigger the better.

************
2nd Priority:

Second hand: Yes

Keypad: Virtual or Hardware

Bluetooth: Yes

Gaming Type: Light gaming during weekdays & Heavy Gaming during weekends,

************
Someone mentioned HTC Touch Cruise at another site.

i stand by my recommendations. Eten and o2 have notoriously lousy warranty and after sales support. i doubt u can find a second hand touch cruise with a 1500 budget. u can try though.

also, there is no pda in the market currently with xenon flash. but just FYI, samsung's hyped up 5mp camera seems to lose to HTC Diamond camera which is 3mp. but both dun fit your budget anyway.

all pdas suck in low lighting. period.

@peteryong, have a look at a brand new asus p320. fits all your specs. however, add about 200 bucks u can get a better HTC P3600i. both fit your specs perfectly

@sunjava, if u plan to use maxis postpaid, u can get the Rm150 plan and look to buy the HTC Touch Pro. Otherwise, its out of your budget, and you;re looking at HTC Tytn2, and Eten M800 are both viable choices

HSDPA is higher than 3G. it depends, mayb u need 3G for surfing using a data connection smile.gif or getting ready to embrace video calling.

anyways, for ur budget. i suggest getting a PDA with 2MP and settling with a P3600i smile.gif

@n82110,

for services and repairs, straight will have to be HTC Devices already.

next, for keypad, and all your other specs, it narrows it down to one and only one device that i know of. The HTC Touch Dual. Have a look at it, and browse around for the price. second hand best bought from users instead of shops with balance official HTC SIS Warranty

Hi, Baronic. One thing I never did get to understand is your advice of buying 2nd hand from users straight, instead of shops. Why? Price concerns? Or...??

1. price concerns
2. probability of a recondition set/non SIS Malaysia set
3. usually phones from other users are better taken care of compared to those in shops

when looking to buy second hand phone,
1. check condition properly.
2. check battery if its original
3. check warranty if its SIS Malaysia
3. open battery cover remove battery and find for the VOID seal. it shows that the phone has not been opened and tampered with (which would make any supposed SIS Malaysia warranty useless)

Added on October 7, 2008, 7:47 am@Mandalay, u can either go for a brand new HTC P3600i, or a second hand HTC Touch Cruise. because second hand, u;ll be probably trading off warranty period for a slightly better camera

I recently bought a fake nokia battery. It has the hologram on it, and it looks about the same from shop to shop. Perhaps all of them had the same fake battery. When they sell, they will do a lot of sweet talk. After one month, the battery goes off very easily. Go back to them, they don't admit selling any original unit.

So how to decide whether it is not re-con unit? Or if the accessories are original?

But with the lesson learn, I will definitely go visit an authorized SIS shop to get more information. Just that sometimes the sales staff also with limited knowledge, and it makes purchasing experience sucks, big time.

@Jseong, MUST BE BRAND NEW? hmmmm, in that case, consider the Dopod 838pro (HTC's old name), if u can find a brand new device. Try contacting SIS. it should be pretty much below your budget, allowing you to save a substantial amount while meeting all your requirements. There are other cheaper models also meeting your requirements by HTC, but i dun recommend them because of their slow speed. (not worth it IMHO)

MWG is available in Malaysia, but its customer support is bad to say the least. i've yet to see an MWG qwerty device (the new ones) in Malaysia though
