Hi all, I'm newbie about PDA, just bought this Omnia from SG 2weeks ago and bring it back Malaysia. I had upgraded G4 firmware myself and luckily nothing went wrong

Heard the H1 firmware is out, plan to go Summit as some bros mentioned here to get the newest firmware this Sat.

By the way, can someone let me know how to install game application into Omnia with zip file downloaded? Many thanks.

1) For Garmin, does the map is include the whole world map, or just malaysia
2) Do I need to pay any fee, if I didnt ahem ?
3) I saw some of the ahem for the installers (GarminMobileXTforWindowsMobile_41040w, etc), mind to tell me what is the different from the files I dl from the garmin site?

if u go Summit to get da firmware, u will be charge for a fees rite cause ur set is from singapore???

bro piscesguy1314, I'm not sure about that, that's why got to go Summit to find it out more detail.

answers:-

1. I think Malaysia map is not included as mine is UK map. Then i had to download malaysia map (www.malsingmaps.com) separately to replace the map.
2. When you download the software from www.garmin.com, u can use it for X number of days for trial period. Then you need to enter the activation key.
3. I am not very sure if that ahem version can work on ur omnia as it required the hard-disk number for unl (license file i guess) generation. Maybe u can try and let us know...

having tonnage of fun using the gps.. @ mapking.. but batt usage is very very fast.. 3 hours of gps drank all the batt juices..

this phone is so fun

guys how do u all setup the 3G WAP n MMS for this phone? i got no luck.. even call up the maxis techies.. they give me i7xx something n its no good..

Here is my phone info after the FMG upgrade the firmware for me:-

after upgade i notice this:-

1. Samsung Keyboard got touch feedback
2. The Samsung widget interface changes..Under program now u can scroll up and down smoother without need accidentally launch any application, and got a sort function to choose A-Z
3. Clock function got new interface for setting up clock
4. The camera setting change. Previously in G4 got the shake reduction on / off now in HH1 dont have.
5. Total storage memory now is 91.50MB free is 49.41MB (more than G4)
6. Chinese input still got
7. Camera tested working not yet analyze got different in image quality or not.
8. And during the auto rotate from vertical to landscape the interface change a bit. During transition got some cool effect on it.

today go back will test more stuff..now i am a happier owner of samsung omnia..hopefully they come out with more improvement in the future.

For my case, i just dail *136# to activate my 3G and MMS... maybe u can try it out..

yeah i also cant find any, and wierd enuff that the usb cable wont charge the phone in my car anyone encounter this..? so the gps only good like first few hours before it eaten the batt life completly

To check firmware: go to Start > Setting > System > Version

samsung got the pouch , i saw some shops selling it, and car charge samsung service centre has it about RM30 only!
anyone recommend a car holder that can fit omnia? dont want those cheap Rm15 one , my Dicota Keeper I cant seem to hold the slim Omnia
