Just a moment ago where i checked Internet resources, i were shocked to found out that Law had been categorized as soft subject !!! Soft subject means that this subject are not so good and less people are taking these subjects for A-levels.Some Universities said that it is the best for students to taking Science subjects than law for pursuing law degree.
Here is what Uni of Cambridge said so:http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/courses/law/requirements.html
Now i'm confusing again  rclxub.gif
Damn Shit,i was just close to study A-levels law and now this news bounce out in front of my eyes.  shocking.gif

Law was indeed categorized as soft subject few years ago, but not now. There are people who took law and are pursuing in UK top universities for Law now. What Cambridge stated is that A level law does not give you any advantage, or any disadvantage.

It depends on how you categorize soft subjects. You can find more details about subjects here:
http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=810355

The reason why people are encouraged to take science subjects is because they have the basics from secondary school, it is easier for them to study the science subjects for A levels rather than adapting a whole new environment studying humanities subjects.

I came across this Pre-Law course offered by KDU which consist only two subjects. But it's known that studying A levels would need at least 3 subjects.

http://www.kdu.edu.my/law-gce-a-level

So my question is this pre-law offering the subjects from the real cambridge A levels? And if i were to really do this pre-law course...can i switch to other universities after that? I saw universities like INTI and HELP offers law degree programme that requires only 2 passes in 2 A levels subjects...
Anyone has encountered such problems before?
I would be glad if someone could help me on this!

I would say that it's quite risky for taking only 2 subjects in A Level. Not trying to be rude, what if you fail one of the subject ? you need to retake A Level once again. Furthermore, Pre Law usually take shorther duration to complete which is a year. There is no guarantee that you can catch up the syllabus and gain sufficient knowledge to pass in this short period of time.  It was totally waste of time. My opinion would be go on the normal route which require candidate to take at least 3 subjects which take longer duration to complete.

Another option would be ICPU or SAM / AUSMAT

I really appreciate your advice =) I was in a dilemma too. SAM and other pre-U courses are already out of my list so it's left with this
A levels (3 subjects) or Pre-law (2 subjects) that only takes one year...
But so far i heard ppl saying as long as u really study consistently and listen during lectures...pre-law would be of no problem..
But if i were to really take up pre-law in KDU, it is still acceptable in other universities like INTI & HELP for their degree programmes next time right?

yeah, it's still acceptable as it was an A Level which mean internationally recognized. As long as the requirement is 2 passes in A Level, you are eligible to apply on their program. Bear in mind that there are no chance for you to apply on scholarships as most of the scholarships need 3 subjects for A Level. Correct me if I'm wrong. smile.gif

by the way, nice to meet you. I'm studying in Pre U now and hope to gain admission on law degree too. biggrin.gif
did you aim to go on law external program or the uk transfer program ?

Bro pls educate me .....this scholarship that u r mentioning.....is it from PTPTN or otherwise.....coz being admitted to do A-levels as a mature student, only being required to do 2 subjects and a single pass will be sufficient. That's the info i got.....so if i only get a single pass.....then certainly no scholarship right..? I am screwed.... sweat.gif sweat.gif doh.gif

sorry, can't help you as I'm quite not familiar with PTPTN loan but other scholarships mostly need 3A level,
what do you mean by single pass ? pass in 1 subject ? thats probably not accepted by variety of colleges and universities since that most of them require minimum 2 passes.

Yes, you will have to unless you secured a 2years training contract.
