QUOTE(myvi5949 @ Feb 17 2009, 10:20 PM) thx but i still got long way to go. i might open a journal when i really start cutting. but, basically i do no more than 4 sets each exercise. i start as heavy as possible usually can only go to 6 reps which is to failure. and then strip off the weight as i go on when i start losing the feel. i like to do to failure. but get me wrong, im not doing drop sets. also, i use instinctive style. days that i feel like doing heavy i REALLY go heavy. days i dont get enough sleep, i dont do as heavy. well, im still studying, so, i dont really have the luxury to get 8 hours sleep each day. but i love squatting. i squat alot. current PR is hmmmm, 450 pounds at 6 reps. |

QUOTE(braindead_fr3ak @ Feb 18 2009, 12:42 AM) errgh.....ohhkay..din know about low lat inserts....genetics........... pretty much the basic stuff, bent-over barbell row, lat pulldown, seated cable row, one-arm dumbell row and wide grip chin-ups when i feel like it. owh not forgetting deadlift. but i have been ditching deadlift for abit now because my back has been killing me. gaining weight too fast. just started deadlifting again.wat do you do for your lats...? |

yup. remember you gotta go heavy on deadlift and squats IMO. but try not to use belt so much. maybe last 2-3 sets ok la when ur core really about to give out edi. its also a core building exercise so, you dun wana pamper ur core too much.

Neek:
Good progress man! nice cuts on the back. will look nicer if you can get the tricep longhead and shoulder seperations to show. btw, the sucking in tummy pose is called vacuum pose, part of the front double bicep pose. you can see arnold doing it in most of his front double biceps. |

QUOTE(Syd G @ Feb 23 2009, 12:08 AM) i just think it's just not good to wear belt for the sake of lifting something that ur body is not ready to lift yet, no? i second that. well, after all i've never been much of a belt fan. but at times, when i feel wobbly, then only shall i seek clarity.deadlift no PR broken yet |

that is true but it is also only one of the thousands of POVs. but for most of the new trainees, they have got to build a good core foundation first to train heavier. if you keep pampering you're core, then how? for powerlifters, its a totally different story i suppose. i dont have any fingers in that field so i dare not comment.
