400x9 @ 1.306V in bios, 1.280V in cpu-z with LLC enabled

felt not much diff after benchmarking..

comparing 333x10.5 @ 3.5 and 400x9 @ 3.6.. the onli diff is abit more memory read/write/copy..

CPU benchmark is not as much as expected and not worth the extra voltage pumped.. should i keep 400x9 or 333x10.5?

bios: 1.28750V
cpu-z: 1.23~1.25 with LLC disabled, enabled will be 1.248V


400x9

bios: 1.306XXV
cpu-z: 1.264~1.280V with LLC enabled..

yea, that's wat i m thinking, speed or lower vcore to prolong my E7400's lifespan..

i did simple benchmarking using Everest Ultimate to compare..

juz slight increase in CPU score and abit more in memory..

temperature wise, 333x10.5 on load 61°C max using LinX stress.. 400x9 on load 69°C max..

dilemma.. tomolo revert back to 333x10.5 1st before i decide which to go on..

or mayb try 400x10?

my KVR need to run at 900Mhz..

running 450 means my FSB will be running at 1800Mhz, my mobo onli support up to 1600Mhz, is it ok kah?

nvm.. i very easy satisfy 1.. 400 sudah cukup.. dun wanna stress my baby E74 so much..

after i decide with which profile, then will start learn bout rams.. by tat time, doh doh zi gao ya..

anyway, my E74 Core1 temperature sensor stuck at floor 40°C and wont go down.. Core2 is normal.. how bout yrs? any similar problem?

ah.. very common for 45nm procs.. yea.. no big deal, stil got 1 more core as reference..

i juz check back yr SS.. yr KVR running at 900Mhz at 5-5-5-15 even tighter than standard.. did u add Vdimm or other voltage to achieve tat?

400x9.5 failed to boot at 400x9 settings..

using Everest Ultimate simple benchmark testing between 333 and 400,
CPU score only increase 2~4%
RAM score increase 7~9%

with the big difference in Vcore, and little increase in performance, do u guys think 333x10.5 is more feasible?

not forgetting the temperature.. temperature diff between 333 and 400 on load is about 6~7°C

almost at the limit of Vcore by doing so.. tried lower multipler and pump FSB? 450x9

but yr value ram will reach its limit at 900Mhz..

i'm leaving it at 3.5Ghz as it is enuf for my 24/7 use.. haven get to try 4.0 thou.. 3.8Ghz yes..

so wat's the voltage u used to maintain 3.74Ghz hazairi? in cpu-z n bios..

on stock cooler.. it is safe to go up to 300x10.5 at stock Vcore.. provided yr PC able to boot up n remain stable at stock Vcore.. temperature will hit max 70°C when doing LinX stress..

about lifespan, tat's is very subjective IMO.. even if u dun OC, it might fail before its expected lifespan.. it all depends..

no wonder.. i was calculating wat multiplier u used for such odd clocks..

i m running at 333x10.5 @ 1.232V in cpu-z.. in fact, it is 1.27XV in bios..

tried 400 x 9 before, need 1.262V in cpuz.. and 1.31V in bios if not mistaken..

i use LinX instead of prime.. faster n hotter.. never tried Prime95 thou.. as long as it pass 1 hour LinX, it is good enuf for me..

i can boot at lower voltage.. but onli can stable at the voltage i mentioned previously..

temperature wise.. on LinX load..

max 70°C on hot days, or 65/66°C at nite..
average 66~68°C hot days, or 61~63°C at nite..
idle is at 31~33°C depending on ambient..

normal 90~100% load (not LinX stress) is about 48~50°C..
