If i m not mistaken, when stock, it is enabled in my bios, then when i start OC, i disabled it to test out my Vcore, I think I should giv it a try with lower Vcore and LLC enabled..

Nothing special. I sacrifice timing to speed.

QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Sep 9 2009, 01:06 PM) Haha, i'm thinking of start getting the Biostar Tpower45 (like yours) since my current humble mobo wont let me set the FSB past 423 QUOTE(farscope @ Sep 9 2009, 01:09 PM) You might as well tighten the PL (Performance Level).-pWs- |

QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Sep 9 2009, 12:18 PM) Ok bro, I'm starting @ 2.2v as a 'control', and will tune it accordingly. Do 960mhz 5-5-5-12,trfc 45 or so and PL set it to 5 or 6,tighter pl is better performance When u said nobody can tell, do you mean each person's PC is different in terms of their systems? hence different systems have different demand in vDimm?, which then ultimately lead me to believe 'Reviews' of products(especially on DRAM) arent to be trusted 100%? Probably they shouldn't be trusted 100% in the first place, but I need at least somewhere to begin with...so thanks bro for telling me different RAM have different vDimm requirements. I thought only processors are unique to one another. With this somewhat seems insignificant little info is making me progress a lot atm. Now my OC Rig is somewhat near completion.....for now. Here my updated 4-4-412 settings @ 2.2v [attachmentid=1186707] I will Run ORTHOS or prime95 to obtain the result of its stability. (currently had only been running on prime95 for just 30minutes) I will post the results soon |

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Sep 9 2009, 03:31 PM) When you mean PL, is it the same thing as 'Ai Transaction Booster' is Asus bios?At the moment its 12, whats the recommended value should i go for if this what you mean is 'PL'? Unfortunately my lame mobo (P5QL-PRO) can't do more than 423FSB, so i cant attain the 1:1 if i want to increase the dram freq. My bios setup seems to be locked on 1:1 at the moment, so i cant fiddle around with the Dram frequency separately. 960mhz?? Can this moderate-overclocking HyperX do such figures without hurting itself at that mhz? This post has been edited by JoBigShow: Sep 10 2009, 09:50 AM |

QUOTE(OC4/3 @ Sep 9 2009, 10:29 PM) Ok bro, I manage to find the neutral level of the PL, which is 12. When i change the 'Ai Transaction Booster' from AUTO to MANUAL, it set the level to 5 with all the 'Pull in Phase' disabled, with BSOD'ed the system right away! But good thing when 'Ai Transaction Booster' was in AUTO it shows the neutral level of PL(12), IN the BIOS it's says the lower the number of the level, the more faster the performance. So right now I insert the level 8 to start with, and will continue untill reaching borderline 'system instability' ANYWAYS, what performance gains i'll get changing around the PL? Is it something that cqn be seen in everyday PC usage??? |

PL = tRD (static MCH read delay).. increase the memory read, write and copy bandwith and latency resulting better overall system performance... ie faster OS boot, faster apps loading time, increase games framerate, etc Formula Trd (in ns) = PL X (1000/FSB) This post has been edited by campsol2k: Sep 10 2009, 07:25 AM |

QUOTE(campsol2k @ Sep 10 2009, 07:25 AM) Technical term... PL = tRD (static MCH read delay).. When i tighten the PL, do I relatively need to juiced up any other settings, for instance like NB voltage, Vcore, vDimm, etc. to cater needs for tighter timings on PL? increase the memory read, write and copy bandwith and latency resulting better overall system performance... ie faster OS boot, faster apps loading time, increase games framerate, etc Formula Trd (in ns) = PL X (1000/FSB) The stock/neutral PL is valued @12, and now I tighten it slightly to 8. If I were to tighten it in the range of 3-4 and even less, like I inquired, do I need to amp up voltages to attain stability? BTW I'm using Asus P5QL-Pro... |

QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Sep 10 2009, 09:47 AM) The most tighest level I can go is only 8, tried 6, then 7, but the bios will not boot windows, so reverted back to 8 Yeah, do I need to tweak anything else to allow me to choose timings below 8? Or is just that, the system already reaches its maximum tightest timing? |
