I managed to boot-up after increasing the FSB to 421X9.5 or suppose to be 3900Mhz & increasing the Vcore to 1.39V....,man idle temp shoot upt to 48-52C & load temp no joke...about 59-68C!! rclxub.gif

However not happy wth the overall result!! CPUz show that my core speed actually much lower..at ~1600Mhz only & boot-up time tremendously reduced... sad.gif ..Even if I reduced the multiplier..no help..I think to stay satble at 3800Mhz only sad.gif

try not to reduce multipliers, play with default multipliers as much as you can unless its an extreme processor..

My setting @3800mhz:

Maintained the 9.5 mutiplier
increase FSB to 400Mhz
Increase vcore to 1.255V (or more but wathc out on increasing temp..For those intended to OC>3000Mhz.I think should change HSF)
Other voltages -maintained
DDR set at 1:1 (5-5-5-15)

Disable EIST & ....(Aiyah let me chk later)

I came across that Intel going to release new stepping E0 for 8k series processor. Not sure will 7k series will get "benefited" or not. Anyone know?

diff between 8 series and 7 series like darkshyte says is the CACHE..the bigger the cache, the bigger the potential to OC,but the bigger the cache with no OC is bloody hell USELESS..just like a 6 lanes highway with 1 car..

btw i just bought E7200,have to join this clan haha

yeah i also find that arguement not valid..

" the bigger the cache the bigger potential to OC"
usually its the other way around..

i would rather rephrase that the bigger the cache the chances of getting a good run on superpi is better. In OC, the cache doesnt matter because you are manipulating the clock cycles and not the registers in the CPU. The ability for it to run on high speeds depends on the stepping and also the quality of the silicon wafer the proc companies use.

paiseh..this terminology should be use for HyperTransport not CACHE... sorry sorry doh.gif A bigger cache only allows the CPU to store more data at any given time and reduces the number of times it has to go back to the system memory to look for data..

Think of the data paths that link all those things together as highways. If you try to fit too many cars down the highway, you get a traffic jam and some cars have to wait before they can get through. HyperTransport puts more lanes in the highway so more cars can flow through it. If you have two lanes, but only one car is going down the highway, adding a third lane won't make that car go faster. If you have a few thousand cars, but only two lanes, adding a third lane would make the flow move faster. I used wrong terminology...paiseh.. doh.gif
