wats posted on XDA is a rom from the prereleased Diamonds. Yes ours is the currently latest roms.

For those who missed second post update

UPDATE on TOUCH FLO 3D LAG: I've tried to mess around with Touch FLo 3D, see how much stress it can take. Handling it normally, placing my thumb at the bottom and moving it left to right, selecting what it want, and returning to the home screen, no problem at all. Now as you know besides sliding your thumb around, u can just CLICK it and what you want will appear. Example you're at TODAY screen, i click messages instead of susah go slide from TODAY to MESSAGES. Slight lag occurs when i do this (a tenth of a second? Probably loading time not really a "lag"). Now i tried ABUSING the system = Click on on messages, before messages load, i click Today, click Music, click Programs, click Internet, Click click click click. Basically i'm not letting ANYTHING load, just spamming clicks. A definite lag before what i last clicked finally appears on my screen (about 1- 1.5 seconds). Which is impressive, considering how i abused it like crazy. LOL. I honestly expected it to hang

UPDATE ON MAPKING 2007
: I have just tested it, and Mapking users will be glad to know that it supports the VGA screen on HTC Diamond, and GPS works flawlessly, despite worries that eGPS since its new, may not be recognized by Mapking

UPDATE ON CALL OF DUTY: Works absolutely awesome, NOT using minimal settings, i was able to play pretty well. NOTE: Tytn2 and Touch Cruise was NOT able to play due to heavy lag even with minimal settings. Game was perfectly fine, with except with just a small little, not lag, but looks like the rendering was a bit slow as i looked around, when i used hardkeys and stylus at the same time. NOTE: ALL pdas lag in gaming when using hardkeys and joystick at the same time. However, it was minimal, and call of duty was enjoyable to say the least. SO yes, it DOES have graphic accelerators. Proper benchmarks will be done when i have proper time

Just some update....initially got my diamond it run quite snappy so as usual install programs and copy all my mp3, movies and photos to the 4gb storage, about 400+ photo, 100+ mp3, few movies after that i found my diamond very lag, try to uninstall some programs but no go then finally delete all files that i copied into the 4gb storage and now back to the original speed.....so for those who complain lag i think might be something to do with the 4gb storage...... can some other owner do some test on it?

Must have apps, there's already a thread for it, http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/531463

Hi, am new owner of diamond. First impression, i am impressed with with the interface. However, i noticed some lags... this lag prompted me to look for the storage and see the amount of space available. But something is not right here. I can't see the internal storage anymore. I could see it earlier though. When i go to the memory and storage tab, it says no storage installed.

I also no longer able to launch the installed applications like games, MapKing with error message - cannot find applications.

Is my internal storage corrupted? did i do anything wrong...?

Sorry guys if this put you guys off.... but it happened to my unit. Hope it is something i did wrongly. Any advise?

thanks
ed

@ednsk

HTC Diamond has this feature where when u plug in into your PC with no active sync installed, your computer reads the device as a USB Storage card. So when your USB Storage card is being used by the computer, your Diamond says STORAGE CARD NOT INSTALLED.

Its actually a feature. not a bug.

If you have active sync installed in your laptop (AND YOU SHOULD! always install active sync before connecting to your laptop/PC, cuz it can create problems, all pdaphones have this warning, i'm surprised HTC Diamond didnt have it), Your Diamond will actually prompt you, connect via Active Sync, or USB Storage. Active Sync is normal.

USB Storage means in your "My Computer" in your PC, you'll see a new drive, your diamond, now being used as a 4GB thumbdrive so to speak. And when this happens, you may not use the storage from your Diamond

I hope this answers your question

go to start>setting>connection tab>USB to PC

there are 2 options

option1
Activesync (Sync with Outlook)
[ ] Enable advance network functionallity

** this options , u can do syncro with outlook and do normal transfer from pc to ppc , ppc to pc. transfer speed will be bit slower compare to options 2

option2
Disk Drive (Faster file transfer)
The internal storage wont be displayed in the device file explorer when connected to a PC in Disk drive mode.

** this options, u can only see your PPC Internal Storage Drive from your Desktop My Computer, transfer speed will more faster.

just simply select option 1. you will then see your internal storage from your files explorer.

Hehe...can see Baronic has answer ur question.
