QUOTE(y3ivan @ Sep 1 2019, 02:15 PM) hi, noob here, may i ask how to open an account to buy MBB stocks? Assuming already have a MBB account. When u say MBB account what do u mean? Is that a stock trading account or just a bank account? First, u have to have a stock trading/stock broking account in any of the IB or stockroking companies. U can use any IB/broker, doesn't have to be Maybank. (But if u open a Maybank IB account, u can click on the Trade Online link in Maybank2U Frontpage). Once u have that then u can buy Maybank or any other stock listed on Bursa Malaysia on the online screen.

Maybank momentum looking nice.
BNM MPC meeting just now, no change to OPR, as I expected.
The next and last BNM meeting this year will be on 5th Nov. BNM is data dependant. There could be a chance of a cut then. Have to wait n see ECB (today) n Fed next week as well..

QUOTE(moosset @ Sep 12 2019, 09:05 PM) ECB has reduced... so Fed will follow? then MY will also follow? Likely Fed will cut rate next week too and likely its 0.25%. If they don't, then US market will go into correction as it expects a cut. And Donald Trump will go full mental. Trump wants them to cut by a whole 1%. As for BNM, that's 2 months away. Under current market conditions, 2 months is a long time. Anything can happen. Anyway, my 2 sen is that IF the Malaysian economy remains stable and IF the trade war doesn't escalate n IF Fed cuts by "only" 0.25%, then there is a good chance BNM will stay put n reserve its ammo for later. Lots of Ifs there.. 😆 And even if there is another BNM cut In Nov, Maybank impact will not be that great on Maybank's earnings for this year. https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...est-rate-in-decRate cut in Dec?? Really?? These guy's don't even bother to check BNM MPC meeting schedule. No meeting is scheduled in Dec, so no way there will be a rate cut in Dec. The next BNM MPC and last meeting of the year will be on the 5th Nov. This will be after Fed Reserve meeting on 30 Oct.. QUOTE(moosset @ Sep 27 2019, 08:17 PM) you gave me a fright man!! RM6.60 ... I was like, sh*t.... I missed the boat! Haha.. Sorry for the fright! . Fat finger error.. 😆 Let's hope next week recover. If weaken further than I will be tempted to top up. Btw I'm also sort of hedged in my Maybank position using Abfmy (0800EA).its not a perfect hedge but it's a good way to use excess cash.. QUOTE(Jordy @ Oct 3 2019, 11:17 AM) Dividend and valuation wise, Maybank. Public Bank for stability over the next 40 years (depending on the succession planning which is still being kept a secret). I would still go for Maybank as the it has scaled over ASEAN, so potential of growth is still there. Growth for Public Bank is limited to the local market (which is dead), unless the new successor plans to expand to regional markets. Then it will open up a whole new market for Public Bank. The great thing about PB is its a stingy Chinaman bank with a crazy low cost to income ratio of like 33% compared to normal Malaysian banking industry standard of 40%-50%, which means great ROI. I do wonder whether it's conservatism and stinginess will backfire in the long run tho.. But now it's starting to look attractive price wise..

QUOTE(Jordy @ Oct 4 2019, 11:45 AM) No choice, minimum brokerage fee is RM40 (0.6%), so had to buy RM7k worth to make up the minimum fee. I usually buy my shares in multiples of 1k lots as I don't buy expensive counters (like Nestle, BAT or F&N types). I don't know why u still use remisier.. I just put order at RM8.40. But I see a lot ahead of me in the Q, so let's see if kena.

QUOTE(Jordy @ Oct 4 2019, 12:50 PM) I am a person with heart, not easy for me to dump a long relationship like this. If he stop working, then only I will stop using remisier and do manual trading. And here I first tot ur remisier must be lenglui.. 😆 But good lar u. On banks, now seem chance of another Fed 25bps rate cut end of this month is much higher due to their weakening economic indicators. If so that will mean 3 x 25 bps cuts by them. Means possibility of BNM cut in Nov has got higher too. On Maybank I noticed PNB has been aggressive selling. I guess this is part of their diversification effort. Epf has been picking up (n selling Public Bank). I follow EPF.. 😆 This post has been edited by Cubalagi: Oct 4 2019, 01:25 PM

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Oct 4 2019, 05:01 PM) Don't understand the rationale of buying Maybank or even Public Bank atm. Come...try hard sell me... Wah.. After attack Reits now want to attack Maybank pula.. 😆 OK let me sell you Strategy is Buy now at RM8.42 (or whatever level next week). Sell when it hits RM10+. The Sell may have to wait a bit, could be next year or a few years after but it will get there. In the meantime, enjoy 6+% per anum dividends while you wait. Good right? QUOTE(Boon3 @ Oct 4 2019, 08:34 PM) Lol. Why you so liddis one. This was a simple question mah. Why need to define it as attack? My comments on reits so bad meh? All I did was point out that one can actually lose money in reits if one simply buy the yield. Was I wrong or was I simply simply kutuk the reits sector? Ps.. If not OK to continue... Lol... I siam sikit lo. How? Hahah.. Go ahead. Stock market is always about learning. Learning from reading, , learn from Market, learn from other ppl, learn from real experience. So I always open to hear many points of views. So OK ok u can attack Maybank n Public Bank. . 😆 This post has been edited by Cubalagi: Oct 4 2019, 10:02 PM

QUOTE(moosset @ Oct 7 2019, 10:43 PM) why this stock never grows one? never reach RM 13+++ ?? You can blame it on the high dividend payout and Drip which causes share dilution, probably around 3-4% annually since 2010. On the positive side, the Drip program has made it very strong capital wise, with Tier 1 Capital Adequacy Ratio up from about 10% in 2010 to 15% now. So if there is a financial crisis in the future, this is the best Malaysian bank to survive. https://ringgitplus.com/en/blog/Bank-News/M...st-In-Asia.htmlThis post has been edited by Cubalagi: Oct 8 2019, 01:23 AM
