I want to ask i might be getting my own psp soon but im concerned about the batt life...i heard that the normal one was better batt life due to it being bigger and the slim smaller hence less batt life....izzt true? i would rather have more batt life then a lighter PSP but if the diff is not much then i would get the slim
so my questions are... 1.Which haz better batt life 2.how many hours can a psp slim/psp play games?(mem stick) 3.how many hours can a psp slim/psp play music? 4.how many hours can a psp slim/psp play movies? 5.how many hours can a psp slim/psp be used generally? 6Which one should i get??? why >< i was reading around i heard that it is possible to use the slim and install the normal psp's batt pack? izzt true if so izzt recommended/better? 1. Both should almost b the same.
2. it depends on wat type of games (loading umd? or games that read a lot from memory stick) 3. play music? damn long 4.movies? Hmm, really depend..nv tried watching a movie on psp. only music video. 5.General for slim it's around 5.5hours..closing to 6 (estimate) 6. it depends urself. I'll get myself a slim since it's lighter, supports skype and more homebrew applications. yes, u can use the normal psp pack but it will make the psp battery part freaking big |

Alright mDinie, follow this simple guide by me.1)Place the UPDATE folder in your ms0:/PSP/GAME directory. 2)Copy the 401.PBP file, and paste it in the UPDATE folder as well. You should now have two files in the update folder.Example : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp and 401.PBP 3)Set kernel to 3.90 in recovery mode (Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds, then hold R and boot your unit up.Then go to configuration, and set the third option to 390kernel) 4)Run the installer. Note * The battery needs to be above 78% for the sce upgrader to load * If it still doesn't work, download this 401.PBP This post has been edited by Playboy21: Aug 18 2008, 04:12 PM |

QUOTE(anon?mous @ Aug 18 2008, 08:02 AM) paipai, 1. Normally if you get if from an unauthorised reseller (a seller who is not from sony) the psp is already running on a firmware of either 3.70 m33-3 or 3.90.m33-3 or mayb 4.0 m33 . But either way, all are good enough for you to play c!pl4* games + run homebrew softwares. 2. I would advice you to get a few original games first just to support them for the games that u like. Example, buy the ori version of GTA. I love GTA series so much that i bought both ori version of vice city + liberty city. Anyways free games, i take it as homebrew games? Homebrew games are quite fun to play 3. Most consoles would have pirated games , and this is no exception. But do note, piracy talk is forbidden here. 4. Do's and dont's . I'll keep it simple. If u want to use your psp for gaming, then use it for gaming only and don't try to upgrade it or do something to it if you dont really know what you're doing. Other than that, you're safe. Play safe QUOTE(Playboy21 @ Aug 18 2008, 09:04 AM) anin?mous, you're helping pretty well for a new psp user thanx guys! yeah i was thinking of gettin a few original games 1st, i heard bout the ISO games so i assumed it's the same with homebrew?..correct me if im wrong I've just got some corrections to make. 1)3.71m33,3.80m33,3.90m33 or 4.01m33.All these are custom firmwares which are developed by Dark_AleX. 2)Homebrew example : http://www.uploading.com/files/SQCE086T/Pl...hooter.zip.html Nothing else maybe i wanna ask my fren to buy the psp from the US since he is going there by end of this week.all psp games r region free rite? am i gonna have to downgrade the software or anything? forgive me for being such a noob! |

Yes,all games are free region. If you buy a psp from US,then you might face some difficulities installing custom firmware on it.It's way better to just get a psp from a local dealer in Malaysia. hehe,no worries..everyone has to start from somewhere. |

QUOTE(toottut89 @ Aug 19 2008, 03:20 AM) Here you go.Use this plugin. **Download**1)Place the screenshot.bmp in ms0:/SEPLUGINS. If you do not have the SEPLUGINS folder, create one. 2)Copy the VSH.txt file, and paste it in the SEPLUGINS *Note, the VSH txt allows you to take screenshots in the XMB.If you want to do so i games/pops,add the game.txt and the pops.txt* Now,as usual go to recovery and enable the plugin. *If you dislike this plugin, you can always try "Cross Extended".It's another plugin which displays the psp info and also allows users to take screenshots* |

Guys, i think some of my apps are somehow corrupted. Before was running fine, now it doens't work well. The app is pspkvm. Before this everything was running normaly. Now , when i exit, it just freezes there, and when i press home and exit, i get stuck at the grey screen. Also in pspkvm, when i am in opera and it ask me to connect to the airtime (wifi) after i press yes, the screen freeze. Never happened to me before. So i replace the pspkvm with a newer version and an older one as well and it still is the same. So i guess i have to delete those settings stored in my psp memory. Anyway that i can reset my psp to it's default setting when i bought it? Reset flash01 from the option in recovery menu?

Yea,you should format you flash 1 in recovery mode.It does a better job compared to the "restore default settings" feature. But mind, doing so will set all your settings back to normal so you might not be able to run pirated games unless you switch it back to normal.
*Hint* UMD Mode. |

GoW rocks! haha well its been a while since i played but as far as i remember just follow his shadow when he teleports then pummel him when he materializes. Make good use of your dodging (evade) abilities as well and try using that range attack...light of dawn or something like that if im not mistaken. The game is one of my all time favourites on the PSP...rock on mate!
