Trivia: Matt Damon and Jake Gyllenhaal Turned Down Avatar : http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomple...own-avatar.htmlDiscuss: Would Avatar have been better or worse with Gyllenhaal or Damon in the lead role?as you guys already know, james cameron will be directing Avatar 2. http://marketsaw.blogspot.com/2010/02/avat...gs-and-yes.htmlQUOTE There is obviously some posturing going on to position the sides for the upcoming negotiations regarding the projects. Don't think for a second he will let anyone else water down this franchise like what happened to TERMINATOR.
So what have I heard about AVATAR 2? We are going to be seeing a great deal more future Earth in 2 and 3 - especially AVATAR 2. The extended edition for AVATAR will help set this up for us, but there are also key elements from the original movie that will do so as well of course
My source is in a hard place right now as the information he/she has is "very spoilery" and may even turn out to be inaccurate in some places when actual production starts down the road. What he does say is: "It is not what you may expect". It will be similar yet very different with the same main characters. Not everything is as it seems in that system (Polyphemus).
Of course keep in mind the elements of war that we posted exclusively a few weeks back! And of course that other moons will be involved, not just Pandora. Again, a MarketSaw exclusive - a full month before the LA Times ran their story. This post has been edited by Calvin871989: Feb 24 2010, 07:18 PM

QUOTE(dlct87 @ Feb 22 2010, 09:49 PM) that is probably jake sully's twin brother got robbed and killed=P Twin brother? I think that is Jake Sully. He probably doesn't want to get "involved" in "something" and the two agents hunted him down or something. Yeah, I believe so. In "Avatar", Jake pondered taking on their proposition of continuing his twin brother's work. Jake was only convinced to go after seeing his twin brother's body in the box.

http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/02/26/sigour...g-for-avatar-2/QUOTE Sigourney Weaver Returning for Avatar 2? (Warning: possible spoilers for Avatar contained in this story)» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Will Sigourney Weaver reprise her role as Dr. Grace Augustine in an Avatar sequel? The question might sound stupid to anyone who has seen the movie, but remember what happens when you assume…
Sigourney Weaver appeared on the TV show “Le Grand Journal.” The actress is in Paris this week to honor Harrison Ford during the Cesar Awards (the French equivalent of the Oscars). During her interview, Weaver was asked if she would be part of Avatar 2 and she made it clear that she has already talked about it with James Cameron, who is planning to include her in the sequel.
But how is that possible?
Anyone who has seen Avatar knows that Dr. Grace Augustine died from a fatal gun wound, and the attempt to transfer Grace from her dying human body into her unconscious avatar body with unsuccessful. So how can Weaver possibly be in the sequel? Remember, after Grace died, Mo’at declared that “she is with Eywa now”. Weaver explained on the talk show that her character still exists “in the tree”, and while she can’t promise anything, James Cameron has some ideas on how to keep “the family together.”

http://scifiwire.com/2010/03/james-cameron-dont-call-i.phpQUOTE NA'VI ? "Certainly I don't want to call it Avatar 2," Cameron said at the Visual Effects Society Awards ceremony in Century City, Calif., on Sunday, where he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. "He's not an avatar anymore, is he? Maybe we'll call it Na'vi."
"I think we can see that there's a greater receptivity to it on the part of the audience than certainly the studio originally imagined," Cameron said. "We pared back on it a fair bit in the first film, and I think we can go farther in that direction and not alienate people." NA'VI ? what we know so far for Avatar 2 NA'VI is: Future Earth, different moons, war and spirituality (Sigourney Weaver is still alive!)

dr grace alive and well within eywa's consciousness of networks... eywa probly kept her for her abundance of knowledge of humans, human civiliztion, technology and science. so as to provide ample time to formulate a more formidable counter offensive or even pre-emptive strike should the imperialist humans come back to pandora. blah blah blah.. just one theory how dr grace consciousness is alive and well

QUOTE Plans for a Possible Avatar Extended Cut Theatrical Rerelease?
He’s hoping to release Avatar on 3D Blu-ray in Fall 2010 but says that might get pushed as they are considering rereleasing the film in theaters during that time. Exhibitors think they have “left a couple of hundred million dollars on the table” by moving the film out of theaters to make room for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. “The question is the appetite still going to be there after the summer glut of movies. We’re going to assess that. We’re talking about maybe adding in additional footage and doing something creative.” Cameon has said previously that the planned DVD release will contain five or six minutes of fully finished, theatrical-release-quality deleted scenes and 15 more minutes of footage that was removed early on and thus contains rough computer generated imagery and effects.Of course, if they could get the cash to finish that footage for a rerelease, the film could include up to 21 more minutes of new footage. Sounds like a great idea to me.
