Most budhet hotels will not be located near Central area. Cheap hotels normally located ~ Geylang or Little India area

Hotel81 only cheap if located in Geylang. Those outside of Geylang area, the price will not be cheap..esp Hotel81 at Chinatown..I think ~ S$100. Hotel 81 in Geylang normally ~ S$60. However if book online via asiarooms/agoda, sometime able to get S$40-S$50 on those Hotel81 in Geylang..However from few forumers that tried recently..seems like this dioscounted offers getting lesser

There are few feeder buses going to Singapore & not all stop at Kranji. You can take the bus at Larkin or at the Immigration complex itself.

The Yellow causewaybay buses..That wan go all the way to Opposite Sim lim Plaza M'sian Bus terminal. The SBS red & white bus..yeah stop at kranji MRT station but I think they also having another number that go direct to Singapore..well can't remember liao..check Singapore Bus website lor.. blush.gif
QUOTE(citizen32 @ May 16 2011, 10:27 AM)

It's about 350+ km As what Darknite said, time wasted normally on the stops. Passengers need to stop to do their "biz" If you drive, gurantee 3.5 hrs can reach border dy, thereafter if without jam ~15min waiting at border immigration lanes & also open boot for Singapore custom (They really kiasu wan sad.gif ) & another 1/2 hr to Singapore downtown - kenot speed..max I think 80 or 90km/hr sad.gif

If bus - Wth 1 stop probably 4hrs to reach and if no jam, probably 1/2 hr at the custom complex (You need to go down & que for passport & rush for the bus mah) & thereafter another 30min to bus terminal - so ngam-ngam 5 hrs lor biggrin.gif

The m'sia & Singapore border complex very modern & canggih wan. but still jam if you go during peak hours i.e ~ 6am till 9am and from Singapore side from 6pm till 7:30pm. However during Eve or public Holiday..anytime also can jam.. I kena 2 hrs border jam at 24th Dec last yr.. Reach border at 2pm and only managed to reach Woodland side at 4pm darm

QUOTE(maru @ Jun 6 2011, 11:09 AM)
hmm....

330km only

5 hours for bus like tat la....

mean if stuck in border mean 7 hr? canot escape ?

Unker, nowadays, activation for oversea withdrawals can be done via ATM liao...Either permanent activation or wth Time to expiry. Not necessary Maybank ATM in Sinkapor but any other ATM having the "PLUS" or VISA interlink sign as per the logo at the back of Maybank ATM card

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Jun 7 2011, 02:39 PM)
Maybank ATM not possible if you not go to your original branch and sign a form 1st!

This is one of the current best rate in KL. You can use their rate as a yardstick to negotiate wth all the lousy rates available in Puchong. In PJ, Ikano opposite Uncle Lim kopitiam having one of thye best.

In KL - Lotsa money changers in front of BB Plaza having very competetive rate and most of them better or equal to the link below

http://www.wawasanmoneychanger.com.my/exchangeRates.asp

Added on June 24, 2011, 9:19 amThere is an MRT line at Bugis Junction. Also pls refer to pg1 1st for better understanding of the MRT route.

On Geylang -Well It's for sure the dirtiest part of Singapore for sure but still much cleaner than lotsa surburban or even KL city!! biggrin.gif That's the only place you can see lotsa Bangla & South Asian foreigners, Ah Kua & Legalised prostitutes. Also the cheapest hotels are there. The only problem wth Geylang for those without transport - Both MRT stations (Al Juned & Kallang) are far away from hotels. You need to walk atleast 1 -1.5km to the nearest unless you find hotels within walking distance away.

QUOTE(jacky91 @ Jun 23 2011, 11:07 PM)
atah, I am a good boy =P bugis? How can i get there? ^^ oh btw, my fren said i should get a mrt card over there? is it true?
thx sandking for the info! x)

Hmnn From my maps, Emerald located at Lorong 6, Geylang the very 1st lane after KPE/TPE highway. The closest MRT = Kallang on the North west of lorong 6 and about 800M walking distance away..not bad-lah.. From my experience staying at lrg 16, walking ~ 900m to Aljuned MRt - no probloem but after a day of walking around everywhere in Singapore, walking bck from MRT to hotel although just 800M is like 10km walk haha..That time just thinking of flagging a cab liao
