If you're staying aroung Taman Tun area, you might be better off going to Kepong as there are two fishing shops at Jalan Kepong with quite a selection of fishing tackles.
If you're not into mega fished and want a rod that lasts long, you can get a fibreglass rod where its very durable and cheaper compared to graphite rods. |

Some prawning shops do provide rods but not at fishing ponds.
Fishing ponds range from RM10/hour to the more expensive RM100/3 hours. |

There's a lake near Holiday Villa where you can fish but if im not mistaken, it has been overfished so dont have too high hopes of landing anything there. Try paid ponds instead.

Would be interested to go for sea fishing but not those deep type ones as my equipment arent fit for those and i dont have a boat.
I occasionally do some recreational fishing at Port Klang just at the side and normally i end up catching 'ikan duri' or buntal. |

QUOTE(HeLLonEarTH @ Jan 11 2011, 04:02 AM) well @ max_cjs0101 have u ever went to anglers resort at pulau ketam? i ever caught a siakap which weight around 1 - 1.5kg too there... but it depends on the water.. but u dont have to have a state of the art fishing equiptment for deep sea fishing, try offshore fishing.. about a few km from land.. rent a boat or something... the chances of getting ikan duri @ belukang or buntal is like 1% only.. the rest u may get those common ikan merah, kerapu n stingray Never went there before but from what i've heard the road that leads there is quite bad. i've went to a paid pond in pulau angsa but didnt manage to get anything.Btw, how much does it cost to rent a boat? |

QUOTE(barney @ Mar 9 2011, 03:57 PM) i plan to go sealion fishing pond this weekend at klang. anyone know whats the price for the pond? are all the pond same price or some different? There are 4 or 5 ponds there.Cheapest(standard) rate is RM15/hour with RM100 deposit(if im not mistaken). Most expensive is maybe RM50/hour(not sure). QUOTE(jedi_master @ Mar 9 2011, 04:33 PM) Of course you can't fish their fishes la. You can fish around the kelong where its said there are many big sizes lurking under the water. If you're lucky you can always try your luck. I plan to go soon but no kaki and its kinda troublesome that you have to go to Pulau Ketam and then take another ferry to the kelong(its around 20 mins from P.Ketam only tho).QUOTE(Raymond8878 @ Mar 9 2011, 05:40 PM) Kelong. |

I would prefer not to go to paid ponds. If im in Klang i'll normally fish at Pulau Indah. Would like to try Pulau Ketam but no kaki too. Freshwater fishes in my opinion are generally more difficult to get compared to saltwater.

Since there's not many members able to come then i think we can make it on another date but im going there tomorrow morning anyway.
Yeah, its the place where you need to pay RM1 and then climb up under the bridge. Popular catches there are gelamas, sesirat(lol), ikan daun, pari and sembilang, ikan duri, and buntal. Dont expect big sizes though. |

Ya, todak also quite a lot but kinda hard to get because of their small mouths.
The water there is quite clear in the morning and the level is very high also.I like it in the mornings there.Gonna go buy some prawns now for tomorrow. |
