more than 1 billion worldwide in 17 days (beating previous records by the Avengers), congratulation Fast and Furious 7

Yup....F7 is Universal's first USD 1 billion dollar baby in record time haha

Avengers is also sharing the same record with the last Harry Potter and Avatar which is 19 days. But 17 days is surreal and its already the 20th highest grossing movie of all time. There's a chance it might even crack the top 5 at the end of its run because of the good reviews and repeated viewing.
Will be interesting to see how the next Avengers will do next week.

I think avengers 2 will break the record...

Avengers 2 is unlikely to beat the 17 day record because it won't be opening to as many screens as Furious7 because both of them will be sharing screens. Furious7 was able to break the record because it didn't have any competition within the 17 days. The huge opening in China also helped while Avengers will only be released in China more than 17 days after it's first release.

the studio should give a big chunk of this income to Paul's family
