Some places don't accept AMEX because the merchant need to bear high admin cost compared to Visa and MasterCard... Similar to Diners Club. charge card seem to be a dying breed.

@TeraPox,
If U bother to read the small print, existing UOB Platinum cardholders are also part of their Preferred Platinum so the benefits are across the board for all Plat holders.

I was thinking to take the Shell one..since i travel more in a car...they said first 2 years free...next following years must swipe at least twice a month to avoid the yearly fee
*
if i'm not wrong.... shell card rebates only applicable when u owe them money...means that they will rebate u AFTER they charge u interest leh... I'm not quite sure lar... read carefully...

I think co-branding card story is abit different....

coz they need to share the annual fee with the co-brander...

so, they can't just waive the annual fee 4 u..

if i goto bank with the CC statement and pay the amount on day 21....they will tell u interest already in, pay more~ or something else?
*
they will charge u RM5 for late payment ...
and 1 day interest for that...

but normally u can call up and waive it off..

@dr2k3

if i'm not wrong, the record will be kept for 1 year only... but u know la.. this country name is called "Malaysia". so everything is 10X slower than others...
so, if no one go and update you record, the bad name will always be there...

@TeraPox,
If it's something enforced by law, I'm sure they will make it a point to do it biggrin.gif  In any case, it makes no difference to me since all my credit card accounts are issued by foreign banks.

I've never dealt with local banks on loans either so... oh wait a minute..... car loan was from EON Bank..... but anyhow, I no longer deal with them biggrin.gif
*
me too me too... rclxm9.gif
hehehhe..all my accounts with foreign banks becoz i dun have confident with local banks. tongue.gif

except my "KLCC" card... sad.gif

I always remember this scenario when i call a local bank(not to mention the name)

*press 1 for english = ello , ini **** boleh say bantu?
*tekan 2 untuk bahasa melayu= ello , ini **** boleh saya bantu?
*华语请按3=ello ini **** boleh say bantu?

arrrgggh!!!!!

@TeraPox,
U don't need to mention which bank; for those who follow ur posts they might oredi know cause U haf mentioned previously which cards U hold.  And, KLCC was a rather big hint too !! tongue.gif

Eh wait... MBB Amex is considered local and U do haf an MBB Amex tongue.gif
*
believe it or not.. altho the call center, card issuer has being out sourced to MBB...

but AMEX statements has being issued directly from AMEX APEC HQ located in Hongkong...

that's why the envelop stated that its from HK... i will scan it and post it tonight when i got home... brows.gif

so AMEX is consider a "Hybrid financial institution" hahahaha
