QUOTE(yuan415 @ Jun 24 2012, 05:38 AM) im currently holding cimb dali equity growth fund, what if i wanna take out the fund? i heard that i must left a balance of rm200 in the fund right? can just terminate it and take everything out? the fund's return is good but management fees and annual fees quite costly If you don't want the fund anymore, you can redeem all. If you still want the account and redeem partially, then you have to meet the min requirement of units/cash in the fund.

Distribution is just marketing gimmick to make the fund looks generating good return and cheaper.
It doesn't really add value to the current unitholders.

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 1 2012, 04:13 PM) oh tuhan...mengapalah aku terus diseksa Buy BEFORE distribution: Higher cost PER UNIT vs Higher market price PER UNIT It's like, u buy a WHOLE 1kg cake, your buying cost is RM20, your selling price also RM20 (assuming zero sales charge) Buy AFTER distribution: Lower cost PER UNIT vs Lower market price PER UNIT It's like, u buy a 1kg cake sliced into 10 pieces, your buying cost is RM2 per slice, your selling price is also RM2 per slice hafiez oh hafiez...MENGAPA??? Even you buy it before distribution, you'll be rewarded with additional units provided that you opt for reinvestment of the distribution. At the end of the day, buy before or after distribution won't matter much as the final equation is still balanced with similar values.

QUOTE(izzudrecoba @ Jul 15 2012, 07:02 PM) If I were you, I pick option no 2: open Kenanga Syariah due to the following:- i. Lower sales charge of only 1% (via online unit trust platform) versus 5.5% from Public Mutual ii. 5 star rating from Morningstar versus 3 star rating for Public Ittikal iii. High Sharpe ratio (high return per risk) compared to Public Ittikal iv. Lower standard deviation (lower volatility) compared to Public Ittikal However, you may want to invest in another syariah equity: Hwang Aiiman Growth Fund, as Kenanga Syariah has quiet expensive annual expenses ratio of 2.01% versus industry average of 1.5% MER of 2% is relatively high.

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 16 2012, 07:39 PM) Should be ok, I checked OSK Holdings Berhad website, iFAST Capital DOES appear under their corporate structure as one of the associated company (phew!) Added on July 16, 2012, 7:42 pmhttp://www.osk.com.my/oskv2/UserFiles/OSKH%20Group%20Corporate%20Structure%20(2012.05.11).pdf No wonder OSK-UOB is heavily promoted by them.

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jul 16 2012, 10:49 PM) +100 Added on July 16, 2012, 10:51 pmU too slow to realise that, Dave But even before I started investing with FSM, I'm already a fan of OSK-UOB funds...Global Equity Yield Fund, Smart Treasure Fund, Equity Trust...made money with all of them with full sales charge back then when I'm investing thru EON Bank. Well I did ask about that but seems like nobody answer that.

QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Jul 23 2012, 09:14 PM) Some of my funds got mixture of oversea exposure.. But not Europe la. Well.. If eu down, will certainly drag everybody right? China growth also slowing this year... That's true, it's a ripple effect but US market just hits or approaching new peak recently. With some correction, it's normal. HSI slid >3% today and it's true that China growth is slowing down. That's why I try my best to avoid Far East region.
