QUOTE(yana89 @ Jun 21 2009, 11:21 PM) i've heard about EE... yea, all engineering use maths, just that EE use maths more than any other engineering. PE also learn earth science (rock structures and such), so it's not really maths all the time. hehe. and yeah thermodynamics is a killer subject i thought that PE also hv to learn things that involve math..they said thermodynamics is the hardest of all.... which i dunno...i'm nt even a eng student...juz pick up from ppl around me... learning new things everyday... |

i agree with that. in UTP the most toughest program is EE. i one of EE student there. i have seen many friends that failed paper. repeat subject n dismiss.
if u want to compare with dean's list student from EE.we are one of the lowest.mybe we compare with electrical n electronic course together. i like electrical .some of electronic part i'm not into it much. student that usually performed in UTP usually from CHemi . nowadays.study in utp become quite hard n strict. this sem we don't have any study weeks. i have friends that score in their polytechnics and utm(dean's list every sem n best student) |

Ya... totally agree. My EE friends there are among the most dilligent friends of courses. And EE in UTP is tough because they have the best lecturers of all course, and so their expectation is also higher from students.if u want to compare with dean's list student from EE.we are one of the lowest.mybe we compare with electrical n electronic course together. i like electrical .some of electronic part i'm not into it much. student that usually performed in UTP usually from CHemi . nowadays.study in utp become quite hard n strict. this sem we don't have any study weeks. i have friends that score in their polytechnics and utm(dean's list every sem n best student) UTP recruit all the top students from all renowned schools. Yet, once they are there, everyone struggle. And when you think you are very good in your school, wait till you meet real genius in UTP. QUOTE(Dennos @ Sep 19 2009, 10:35 PM) I don't mean to offend anyone from UTM, but does UTM allow their student to use the facilities? Having it and allowing student to use is 2 different thing. |

QUOTE(iamloco @ Jun 21 2009, 11:15 PM) i beg to differ. i don't think PE is the toughest among all, EE should be the toughest, as according to my seniors and my observation. EE is the hardest bcos of the vigorous use of maths. I thought the toughest engineering has always been : 1) Aeronautic/Aerospace 2) Mechanical Engineering 3) Fill all other engineering courses here.on the contrary, i think PE is the easiest engineering discipline. we learn mainly about reservoir, drilling, and production. not much like other engineering discipline. UTP PE student here, going into 2nd year 1st semester Well this is what I was told before entering U. |

Although im an Civil eng. student, i would say mechanical engineering is toughest. From my observation, it deals with alot of dynamics...its real physics put into used. Saw my roomate doing project on designing a car..it was awesome at the same time complicated (for me).

QUOTE(HeWasOnly3 @ May 6 2008, 04:58 PM) Hi all juz a question regarding three Universities...... they are UTM, UM AND UTP. Which one is better? This is mainly because i just browsed list for the top 100 Universities in South East Asia. UTM was ranked 15, UM was ranked 19 while UTP got 91. I was wondering that UTP should be better but how come?Erm guys plz voice out your opinion! USM perhaps =D |
